“Friendly small hotel”

Very pleasant small hotel, conveniently located close to the centre of Helsinki. Entrance is in a small courtyard, and this distance from the street helps reduce any traffic noise (which is not dominant anyway - Helsinki is a well-ordered and calm city!). Rooms are slightly small - and tea or coffee-making facilities would have been welcome. But the breakfasts are very good, including a pleasant and bright conservatory area. Staff are friendly and helpful.

“Excellent location”

The hotel is well located: it is about 10 minutes walk from the railway station, five minutes walk to the tram or Market Square (the wharf for cruises), and three minutes walk to the Esplanade (where locals picnic on the lawns), cafes and restaurants, a tourist office, and a pick up point for bus tours. The hotel is also close to a large beautiful park with great views, and to an exclusive residential area between the park and the waterfront. The hotel staff allowed us to book out in the morning, store our luggage, and return for free showers at 6pm.

Area recommendations
Harbour cruises are scenic, relaxing and informative. The World Heritage fortress, only a fifteen minute cruise from the Market Square wharf, is interesting and a good place to see the locals at leisure.

“Free Tea and Coffee bar”

The special of this hotel is they have " Free Tea and Coffee bar with a lot biscuits and very testy pastries ", after scrolling in the city, set down have a cup of tea or a coffee with delicious pastries, which makes you felt like at home.

The market, a lot Finn made products and try the fried little fish, which is typical Finn food, test very nice.

“Rivoli Jardin Hotel”

We had twin-room for 1 night. It was very comfortable, friendly service staff, good buffet.

Area recommendations
For shoppping i recommend Forum near railway station. For leisure - walking in the center of Helsinki - Esplanade Place, market, cathedrales ets.

“Quaint Hotel”

I did enjoy my stay at the Rivoli Jardin. Their breakfast was fantastic, well prepared and with an assortment of goodies. Rooms were adequate, very quiet, and hotel staff was accomadating. When I was ready to leave at 4 AM, my bill was ready, and a cab was waiting. What more can one ask for? If I ever go back to Helsinki, I would stay there.

Area recommendations
I walked every day, in different parts of downtown Helsinki. Never once did I feel threatened, and the city is very clean. Enjoyed my shopping experience, and also my dining in fine restaurants. Finland is my father's homeland, so this trip was very special to me.
What to pack
Comfortable clothes, and good walking shoes.
Must see
Bus and boat tours, very informative.
Shopping
Shopping downtown was fantastic, loved Stockmann's Dept. store.

“Very Pleasant Stay”

Very friendly people made my stay at this hotel a pleasure. Though it's near the harbour and many city attractions it's quiet and comfortable. The breakfast is superb. The rooms are well-kept. I'd be happy to stay here again should the occasion arise.

“Great location in Helsinki, helpful staff, wonderful sauna!”

The location of this hotel is outstanding. The staff are pleasant and helpful. We stayed in the apartment section of the hotel which was newly renovated and well appointed. We highly recommend this hotel.

“Rivoli Jardin Hotel”

Although sporting a fine looking website and also being conveniently located this hotel is way below the standards as advertised. The rooms only had very small single beds, thin mattress, duvets that were likewise thin and barely covered the bed. Mattresses were old and hard and the pillows awful. No room service to speak of, except for a ham & cheese sandwich. The hotel was cold. This is a basic hotel with basic facilities and that's how it should be advertised. Will not be staying there agin.
