A day at Haaga Hotel
I stayed at Haaga for just one night and was impressed with the serene environment where the hotel is located and the courteous service from the front desk officers. The room was spacious with very useful and handy amenities including hair dryer, ironing board, kettle, and assorted tea and coffee package. When I was held up in the city, they allowed me extended check-out of over one hour. I will use Haaga again on my next visit to Helsinki.

While the hotel was excellent I was sad to find the restaurant was closed for dinner all summer, and there were limited options for local meals (I planned to visit the Nepali rest. on Monday, which turned out to be the only night it was closed. There is a supermarket a 10 minute walk away and the bus to the city is always an option. Breakfast had a number of hot and cold options, but the little 2-slice toaster should be upgraded as it took ages to brown the bread.

Relaxing staycation
This was out first stay here and we didn’t have any expectations, but it was an awesome stay. I highly recommend the superior queen room. It had all the necessities and the bathrobes and slippers were a pleasant surprise. The inside pool was 17 meters long and had several lanes. We did evening and morning swim and it was really nice. Overall a very nice stay. People working at hotel Haaga and at their restaurant were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and contained everything needed. The only minor negative comment comes from the smell of the room which was not the best. It wasn´t anything disturbing but rather a smell of an older building.

Ok hotel, far from the downtown, though u can take either bus 43 or walk about a mile to the commuter train station Huopalahti. The kitchenette didn’t have anything in it, I had to ask for the plates and utensils. The drain in the shower was clogged up. Service was great, very friendly people.

This hotel is located in a residential area of Helsinki, quite a distance from the main core of downtown Helsinki. If going to downtown by bus, one must have Euros with which to pay the fare. Using a taxi is quite expensive but one can use a credit card to pay the fare.. The hotel's property includes a variety of fitness activities that are charged separately. The rooms are rated as being superior or ordinary. My room was an 'ordinary' rating; the single bed has a 2" thickness of foam topping a box spring. Although cleaned daily by staff, the laminate flooring was quite marked up. A free buffet breakfast is served daily from 7:30 AM until approximately 10:00 AM. In the evenings, Frank's cafe operates daily from a menu with several choices for appetizers, entrees and desserts. Frank is amenable to making changes to the contents of each dish to suit personal tastes.

Our room was fine but the drain smelt eggy after a day. We didn’t report it though as we weren’t in much anyway. Sheets were clean, breakfast was good, lots of variety. Pool was cold but clean and always quiet. Pool and sauna were open strange hours though. Staff were helpful and polite. Location was good for public transport.
