Where’s the water
The place met our needs for sleeping/showers etc. Kitchen well equipped if you came to cook. Was disappointed there was no fire pit (does offer chiminea). Furniture is not very comfortable for TV watching. Also when looking at the photos it appeared the water was closer than a mile or so away. Also was not expecting to have to take the trash to the road, strip beds, start laundry or make sure everything was wiped down. What was my cleaning fee for? This is just my opinion but when I’m on vacation I want to be on vacation from everything.

If you look at the photos of the area, AND read the description of the property it does say that it is 1 mile from the beach. Carters beach is amazing, and we do hope you visited! The checkout instructions are typical in a short term rental so that we can sanitize and get it back to pristine condition, while allowing a reasonable check out time and check in time for new guests. Your cleaning fee is not to clean up after your meals. We offered to take the trash to the road for you, and communicated a ton before, during and after your stay. Had a great stay with family at this wonderful house! Enjoyed the front porch especially on the clear evenings looking at the stars! And loved our time together around the fire pit in the back! Loved going for walks on the beach close by and the great places to eat were not far from the house either!

Acadia Vacation with Littles
The property was just as described and worked perfectly for my family with young children. We were able to go to the park in the morning and there was enough space to relax at the house in the afternoon away from the crowds. The house was comfortable and the property itself was spacious and quiet.

Hidden Gem
The house was beautiful and was equipped with everything we needed. Perfect location! We traveled north to Canadian border and as far east as Bass Harbor from this location. Easy access to Bar Harbor as well. Already recommended home to friends wanting to visit the area. Susan was easy to communicate with. Very responsive. You won’t be disappointed!!

Wonderful house near Bar Harbor
We had a family of four along with our Boston terrier staying for a week in the house. The check in process could not have been easier and the house itself was just as advertised. We had a great time sitting on the back deck either eating breakfast, lunch or dinner and sometimes seeing the deer in the backyard....our dog would go up to them and just stare and they did not care. The house had everything you would want as long as you read the book in the front room about where everything was located, the kitchen was stocked with all the essentials (like a pot for boiling lobsta!). The drive to the small preserve at the end of the peninsula was only about five minutes and the trail there took you to an awesome beach that hardly anyone was at for the times that we went. Bar Harbor was only about 35 minutes depending on traffic which gave us time in the car to map our routes we wanted to go. If you do get a chance, please go into downtown Ellsworth and go to fogtown brewery....you will not be disappointed. We would come back and stay at the house in a heartbeat, thank you again for giving us the opportunity to utilize your lovely house.

Quiet Maine Getaway
If you want to get away to a quieter part of Maine, but still close to MDI, this place is for you. A cozy porch for your early morning coffee or afternoon reading always awaits. The small towns nearby offer plenty of places to eat, if you don't want to cook.

Nice. A little out of the way but not bad. House was fine. One ac unit on porch area and one upstairs in bedroom. Maybe another one in downstairs bedroom would have made the house comfy temp wise… got a little warm but there were a couple fans we used. Overall a decent place.

Plenty of room
The house was fine, laundry, shower, etc were good. However, the kitchen wasn't stocked very well- not enough dishes or cooking pots etc., at least for our family size. Could have been better stocked and nicer. The master bedroom bedding needed to be washed. At least the blankets and pillow cases needed washing (they were visibly dirty, not stains.). There were screens missing in the master bedroom, which let bugs in, or had to keep closed at night and it got hot. Otherwise, place was nice and has potential to be better! Thank you, we over all enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for your feedback. There is one screen in the master bedroom that is out, so that we can put an AC in that window. If we knew you needed a screen, we could have easily put one back in for you. I am not sure about the pillow cases, they are washed and sanitized after every guest. I will make sure the blankets are rewashed again too! Yes, the kitchen does not have great storage. There are a ton of spices, two sets of plates and many glasses and silverware. The guest book tells you to look in the closet off of the kitchen for the lobster pot, griddle, and crock pot. We will certainly take a look on how we can make it better today. Relaxing stay
Stayed at this property for the Memorial Day weekend. Very nice and quiet area. We did couple trips to Acadia. Few min from the house there is Carter’s Beach which offers nice relaxing views.

Great Location for cycling and Acadia
We had a really great stay at this home. It was spacious and the upstairs bathtub was a delight after a long day biking. The area is great for biking to Frenchmens bay, Acadia and Bar Harbor is close enough to take a day trip. We enjoyed the quiet of the area and the sleepy country setting.

Lovely retreat
We enjoyed our stay very much, the house was spacious and there was plenty of room for all of us. The area was beautiful and quiet, my dog Nellie loved running around in the yard. The drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor was a pleasant drive approximately 35-40 minutes each way.

Disappointing house
1. The house was locked up and hot. The two tiny air conditioners did not do much to cool it off. The two first floor bedrooms stayed hot day and night the week. 2. Emailed the property manager Saturday night for more fans. Got no response the whole week. 3. The sliding glass door and screen are a wreck. Very hard to slide them and close them. Consequently flies, bees and other bugs were able to get into the house. No fly swatter was found. The door and screen need to be replaced immediately. 4. The moldy and torn shower curtain in the first floor bath was inexcusable. This needs to be replaced immediately. 5. The kitchen utility knives were rusty. These need to be replaced immediately. Overall, for a few hundred dollars and some attention this house could be a great place. Unfortunately it appears to be under used and poorly managed.

Sue, I am so upset that you are so disappointed. This is a gorgeous home, and has been absolutely loved by renters. I do have an email from you on 7/12, where I was helping you plan your groceries before you arrived. There was not another email, or I would have raced anything over to you at any time. You do also have my phone number, but I did not have any correspondance from you. The doors to the deck stick, but the screen and door work fine. We added some WD40 since both are in perfect condition, and it solved the issue. I can remove the 3 knives and sharpen them. From running them through the dishwasher, it looks like they have a few spots on them. There were at least 10 additional knives for your use. We do have deposits in our water, that can get on the shower curtain. I will replace that today. I assure you that everything was clean and sanitized. I hope you were able to get to the beach while you were here in the sunshine, its only a mile from the house. I also hope you found the fans in the closets. One was a brand new one in a box still! Again, we are so sorry you did not have a good experience. We would have done anything you needed to make sure you were comfortable! Simply Rentals USA

Great quiet location
Love the location with easy 7 min walk to the cove. Awesome place to put in your kayak at high tide! Easy drive to Schoodic Peninsula which became our favorite location to climb rocks.

Amazing location and comfortable house in less busy part of Acadia area
What an amazing find. We had a great time at this property with three adults and three kids (including one infant). Beach access is a short walk away, and our family loved the variety of short bike rides (2 miles) that gave us access to Hancock Point, Carter's Beach, and other places with tidepools and beach views. Inside the house was almost perfect, needing just a few updates to make it more comfortable for a family, e.g., better kitchen supplies; darkening curtains in all bedrooms; etc. A few tweaks and this stay would be perfect for the next family.

This home is so clean, and open, inviting and close to everything! The fire pit, and private yard have a lot to offer like deer, eagles, rabbits, and stargazing. Nice clean property. Quiet neighborhood. Well equipped. Convenient to supermarket. There’s a community garden and 2 mile trail through the woods around the corner. And just a few miles from Tidal Falls Preserve.

Great stay!
We had a lovely stay at this home for our first visit to Maine. The teens were happy to have their own rooms, and we enjoyed having the upper floor all to ourselves. The area is pretty and quiet. Susan, the property manager, was very helpful and responsive, and wanted to make sure our vacation was fantastic.

Tranquility and peace
Such an amazing property in an amazing location. Great house, well maintained and very clean (this is a must for us). Most days we drove to Acadia...make sure you take few hours to visit the location where the house is. One mile from the house there is a very nice short hike through a very dense forest (Salt Pond Preserve Frenchman Bay Conservancy)...my kids told me it looks like the enchanted forest from Harry Potter ;)...it ends at an amazing beach, from where you can take a short walk to the harbor.

Quiet and relaxing vacation
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The property was spacious and even nicer than it looked in the pictures. We spent a lot of time exploring the nearby Tidal Falls, and Bar Harbor was only about a 30 minute drive away. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a Maine getaway!

Wonderful Stay in Maine!
The property worked great for us! We enjoyed the time we spent at the house as a family and it was a great place to access the many parts of Acadia, Bar Harbor, and Ellsworth. We would recommend this property for families or friend groups who plan to cook many of their meals (the kitchen is well outfitted) or those who don't mind driving 20 - 30 minutes to a restaurant. We were always going somewhere, so this didn't bother us in the least. Susan also went over and above to make sure that the only concern we had was taken care of promptly. This issue was no fault of the management team. We would definitely stay again!

Location Location Location
Planning our 4 Night stay in the Bar Harbor/Acadia area, we discovered that a small portion of Acadia NP is located on the Southern tip of the Schoodic Peninsula. This area of the park offers spectacular views and is well worth the effort to get there. The Pine and Sea Beach Retreat is central to both areas of Acadia. The property is well stocked and exceptionally clean. We highly recommend Pine and Sea.

Great stay - especially for hikers & lobster lovers
Perfect vacation to stay COVID safe. House exactly as advertised, very clean & the management team was super responsive. Great location 45 minutes from most hikes in Acadia and and Bar Harbor. Lots of wildlife in the area: deer, porcupines, squirrels, and a bunch of other stuff! Loved having the outdoor fire pit & bathtub (especially after long hikes!) Lastly, a kitchen was wells stocked to boil your own lobsters - so much fun! Two small things we suggest management fix: - Clean the grill. There is a significant build-up of old carbon & grease under the grill some of it lit while cooking anything for more than 10 minutes. Just needs a routine clean-up! - The master bedroom window AC unit is not flush with the walls which let a few flies in. Would get that fixed up!

Great location
We very much enjoyed our stay in this updated country home. Everything was available in the home when needed, so just bring your clothes. Our dog was also very comfortable. The location is central and close to all places yet quiet and private. We will miss this place.
