Great little getaway. We stayed overnight, and had dinner in the restaurant. The food was great, and the staff were fantastic. Close to Winchester, but far enough to have a real countryside vibe!

The staff were exceptional, and went above and beyond to look after us. Our room was above the bar and kitchen which was very noisy and hot. They moved us to a quieter room for our next night immediately. The food and atmosphere was great. I would recommend to others to stay there. A special mention to Sam!

Some good points, but several disappointments. The listing and the property's own website suggested something quite special, but the reality was a fairly basic and tired pub very much in need of some refurbishment. Kitchen closes at 8.05pm, not 9.00pm as advertised.on their website. Room cleaning / servicing during the stay was completely non-existent and despite asking for missing items to be provided in the room absolutely nothing was done, despite being carefully noted down by a member of the bar staff. No TV remote so TV was unusable. Tired and shabby decor with peeling paintwork and scratched furniture. No storage space of any kind in the ensuite bathroom and poor lighting by the shower. Stair carpet badly worn and not vacuumed in three days, the same dead leaves were on the floor for our entire stay. Very customer toilets, not clean. On the plus side the service staff were friendly and helpful and the food andwas good, despite being overpriced

We expected some noise as it’s a pub but the door slamming and constant noise from the beer garden was disappointing. Staff were very nice and the food was fantastic.

The staff were welcoming and helpful. However the room and en-suite were not very clean, in particular around the shower and wc. The room stairs and corridor need new carpet and redecoration and the view over the pub service yard not pleasant. The tv remote was the wrong one, we were unable to access the tv guide. Quality of food was good but evening meals were expensive and limited choice. Our room was also not serviced for our second night's stay. The Kings Head need to do better.

The ground floor bar and dining area are good with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and a great welcome by staff - I couldn't fault it at all. The place is easy to find and well positioned too with a lovely outdoor area to relax. However, the decor (carpets and general decoration) is in urgent need of being refreshed. The carpets were stained and threadbare in places. Plus the upstairs area / rooms were rather grubby and needed a good clean. That said, the facilities were very good, a comfortable bed with clean and good quality bed linen and the selection of fluffy towels etc was fine. Norbert was wonderful and ensured a good stay otherwise with a good breakfast.

The staff were fantastic and very helpful. The property could be lifted by a lock of paint everywhere and some new carpets. Thermostat showers would be a bonus. Meal was very good , beef dumpling top notch. Breakfast was 8.00am so we missed it as we needed to be out by 7.45 am so that was a disappointment as looking forward to a hearty breakfast.

We liked staying here, the room was nice but unfortunately over looked the yard and although it wasnt extremely noisy we could hear staff milling around fairly early in the morning. So now the fairly negative stuff is out of the way the positives were the pub is a lovely building sympathetically decorated and furnished to the period there is a spacious car park and its situated in a beautiful chocolate box village. Breakfast came as part of our package and didnt disappoint everything was well cooked for those having hot food and a varied selection to cater for all tastes also cereal and juices for you to help yourself to in the dining area. I would have like a 2nd cup of coffee as it was also lovely but i didnt ask so that's my only slight gripe with the breakfast, the staff member on duty in the morning was attentive but not intrusive. We enjoyed our stay and intend to return

A good nights sleep
Very comfortable room and generally clean Small piece of broken glass in bathroom and plastic waste bag left in bedroom,also lovely towels but no bath mat in bathroom. The pub is closed to general customers on Sunday evenings and I wasn’t given instructions on how to access the premises when front door was locked,however,I found a rear door open. The Kings Arms is tidy,clean,characterful and served an excellent breakfast.

Beautiful hotel but our room was cold when we arrived and we had what looked like a fence post as a headboard. No fridge and the bathroom was a bit caulked up and mildew. We felt that our room did not look like the pictures and I’m sure all the other rooms were of a higher standard but lovely place …carpet was a bit grubby as well . Didn’t take away from our lovely weekend but I’m a designer ana would have liked a headboard. Saying that the hotel decor and decorations were amazing

Lovely pub restaurant and room, friendly welcome and very clean, elegantly decorated. Excellent food and service. So convenient to have free on site parking. A couple of small issues - single use plastic milk cartons in room not so eco friendly. And breakfast start at 8 makes it tight when needing to be in Winchester for a 9 am business start - I had to rush the lovely smashed avocado on sour dough so couldn't fully appreciate it!

Had a very enjoyable stay. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. There was some road noise at night due to the pub being on the road and old single glazed windows. The bathrooms let the rooms down really and could do with replacing, or being more thoroughly cleaned due to wear and mildew. However we only stayed for one night so this didn’t really affect us. We ate in the restaurant at night. The food was delicious and we all enjoyed our meals, service was good too. Breakfast was great, very fresh and cooked to order. Good to have parking. We will stay again.

The stay was alright though a few issues. Positives: The staff were very warm and friendly. The young lady who checked us in and served breakfast was amazing. The breakfast was great. It was wonderful to have a variety to choose from. Negatives The bed in our room was very creaky and uncomfortable, the bathroom was not well lit as the main bulb was out. It was very warm room, and couldn’t open windows as room is near the main road. Also a warning to mind the step in the room we were in could be handy as I almost fell, since we were expecting even floors. Overall an okay place to stay but could be better with new and comfortable beds. Also wifi connection process could be easier.

Booked last minute to stay with wife and 1 year old daughter in the suite and had a nice stay. There was a separate living room with sofa bed and a bedroom so was able to relax and watch TV when daughter went to bed. Lovely pretty country pub and staff were friendly. Pub food was nice. No hot breakfast but had a large delicious continental breakfast brought to our room. Would definitely stay again.

For a pub & inn that received a pub of the year award in 2018 they seem to still be celebrating and not paying attention to the everyday needs of the establishment. Thing such as thorough cleaning of the shower area in the rooms, door handles falling off on the shower door. No light bulbs in the bedside lamps. General overall maintenance seems to be lacking. Staff were friendly but in my opinion lacked attentiveness to the client in the pub & dining. I'm well aware it's a pub so I have no problem ordering my drinks and food at the bar but running out of a major brand of beer for 2 days in my mind is not acceptable. The food was good and had tasty selections on the menu. Upon checkout the room rate was not in accordance with the rate quoted. That adjustment was made upon showing the quoted rate.
