Well we arrived at 4 p/m and were greeted by a friendly staff member who imidiatly told us that the restaurant was shut and we would have to make our own food arrangements! We settled into our room and I went back to the hotel (we were in an annex ) to ask for some utensils and plates as we were going to get a takeaway only to find that the hotel was shut and all the lights were off ! So we had to buy cutlery and plates from the local store Breakfast was nice except that my wife had breakfast potatoes that were rock hard? We we’d stay again but not on a Sunday night if they shut! They could have informed us and then we cud have planned something else

Great Reception from David. What a raconteur-made us very welcome. Quality of Food & Drink options were good. Breakfast was excellent masterminded by Angela who demonstrated an above average degree of attention to detail. Slight drawback with poor WiFi

A place to rest your head and eat well
Used this hotel as a base to do centre section of Hadrians Wall. Great location. All staff were so helpful and the food was exceptional. Fully recommend staying for Dinner. Breakfast again good quality and the breakfast team so helpful

Perfect to explore Hadrian's Wall
Exceeded expectations, sauna was great after exploring Hadrian's Wall nearby, cosy accommodation with comfy bed and first class breakfast and one evening meal on site

Amazing hotel, parts dating back to 15th Century.
An amazing hotel, parts of which date back to the 1400's. Very clean and tidy, with excellent service through from arrival to departure.

Thoroughly recommend
Such a wonderful stay we went back for a second stay on the same holiday! Very welcoming, the rooms were cosy and comfortable with loads of character, and great food.

Good place to stay
Stayed in one of the off site apartments. Large, comfortable and quiet. The car park is small. A couple of cars had taken up 4 spaces between them so had to park on the street. As long as you’re leaving relatively early that’s ok. Good breakfast.

Lovely 2 night stay
Quirky self contained room off from the main hotel with downstairs a sitting area, bathroom and upstairs ‘bedroom’ beautifully laid out and the sauna off the bathroom a real bonus! Spotlessly clean and well thought out, very attentive staff throughout our stay, scrumptious breakfast, plus a very enjoyable and reasonably priced evening meal. Thoroughly enjoyed out 2 night break

Location was great, food could have been better. But to be fair i have eaten a lot worse. Accommodation was tired looking, particularly in the bathroom, skirting boards etc.. Liked the concept of a self contained chalet apartment.

Liked how quiet it was, the room was super spacious, comfortable and relaxing especially since was travelling with my dog. Location was good if needed food/supermarket or a walk. Staff were friendly. Parking is available but limited spaces and access was ‘painful’ then to find no space. Use the on street parking which is disc, supermarket behind or just above both are free and was well lit and plentiful. Would definitely use again.

Hotel was easy to find with free private parking. Pleasant and obliging host and staff. We were shown to a room in the annex, which was quirky with a small lounge area and shower room downstairs and the bedroom on a mezzanine floor above , reached by a narrow staircase. The shower room also boasted a sauna. All this was fine and with no issue. We ate in the dining room and have nothing but praise for the service and quality of the food served, at both dinner and breakfast. On the down side, the lounge area, although quirky, was very small with no radiator meaning it needed to be heated by a free standing electric fire which we felt was not ideal. The shower room, in our opinion, would have benefited from the removal of the sauna to give more space and allow more practical siting of the toilet and hand basin. Overall a very pleasant, albeit short, stay and we would recommend the hotel to anyone needing accommodation in the area.

Brilliant, nice room, loved the sauna, stairs to bed a bit steep for elderly people! Staff couldn’t do enough for you all very helpful and pleasant. Food delicious will definitely return for another visit.

Get ready for the stairs.
If you end up in the four outside rooms beware! They are a bed up,a narrow, difficult stairway with a bathroom and small sitting area below. Not convenient or even safe for older customers! WiFi was non-existent. Restaurant was very good, and the hot breakfast good. Just be prepared for a very inconvenient stay in a convenient location for Hadrian’s wall.

unable to open windows in bedroom as they had been painted shut so room was stifling hot up on the mezzanine bedroom. Michael had to leave in the middle of the night as he was unable to sleep.

Excellent value, warm and welcoming.
Very welcoming. Can’t speak highly enough of the staff. We had 4 rooms book in total for a working trip, the staff were warm and friendly throughout. The building is fascinating and historic though modernised where it counts. The rooms were all very clean and comfortable. Lovely and quiet at night. The food on offer was excellent and the bar area welcoming. Well done all round excellent value.

Great Hotel
A clean comfortable hotel in an excellent state of repair. Had an aura of excellence about it and the staff were very good. Had dinner and breakfast. The food was OK but not excellent. Dinner was £21.00 for three courses.

Wonderful B&B in the centre of England
This is a Really nice hotel B&B near Warwick on Eden in the geographic center of England. Even though we arrived in the middle of the England-Croatia Football Match, the Innkeeper took the time to show us to our room, guide us to the right channel on the TV for the game, and stop on his way back to the front desk to make sure the fish and chip place next door stayed open for us to get take away dinner. Dinner is delicious fish and chips in our room as we watch England lose 2-1 to Croatia. A travesty! Sorry, England. Well, back to my review of this property— it’s really nice, in the center of the village, the room was great. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Hadrian’s Wall is nearby. What more could anyone want? Cheers!

Nice hotel but could do with a tidy up. Plastic ivy, flowers and plants were obviously in in the 80s but no one has thought about replacing them. The restaurant suffers from the same plastic decor so it’s like sitting in a wedding reception in 1980. Dinner too had that 80s touch. Though our wait staff, two young men and a girl were excellent. Breakfast however was another matter, excellent reception and service superb choice. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. Would recommend but would think again about sitting down to dinner there.

Character hotel in small town
The location of this hotel near Hadrian's Wall is its best feature, as well as the interesting history of the building. The staff are friendly, but I was a little bit underwhelmed overall. The furniture in the rooms is a little tired and worn and the shower was cold in the morning.

Well located for our trip
The Hotel is very good, We had an amazing room which had Jacuzzi and sauna. The bedroom was massive and well appointed. We Booked Dinner there which I can thoroughly recommend. The staff were really attentive and friendly throughout. Would definitely recommend for short or long stay

Lovely spacious room that was very clean with everything we needed for our stay. Breakfast was excellent and our evening meal was delicious with great service. Staff were always helpful and showed a personal interest in our family which made this a five star stay.
