l features. v clean. Staff excellent. Breakfast superp. Onlly thing I found a bit difficult is the steep stairs to the rooms, but a handrail is provided.

Really nice place, nice room but a couple of flaws
The place itself was great, the staff helpful. Lovely room, very comfortable bed, nice wonky corridors which added to the charm! A couple of negatives though, 1) there was only 1 sachet of coffee and 2) the shower was probably the worst i've ever had, the water flow was useless and there was no hot water! It didn't ruin the stay though as the cold shower certainly woke me up but you kind of expect these things to work!

The hotel is going to be totally refurbished - hence my room in the annex was not good) however, they did give me a full refund! So full marks for that.

We stayed in annex,musty smell throughout the building, bins in bedroom and bathroom not emptied after previous customers. Overall food good but unfortunately staff totally over worked, friendly but understaffed.

No car park space to park on arrival not knowing the area husband got out to ask where we could park told down the road had to carry clothing in the rain. Room basic very tired looking cobwebs in corners of ceiling windows dirty smelt of damp in corridor leading to room. Bar staff friendly meal enjoyable drinks fair price.

Bedroom had uneven floor. Bathroom very small. When seated on the loo my knees were against opposite wall. Shower was very small with 10 to 12 inch step up. Window of bedroom was half boarded off. Stairs access was very steep and narrow.The bedroom was warm and the bed was comfortable, if a little soft for my liking. No evening meals were available. I am 77 year old male with a bit of a knee problem

The parking was rather limited but after hours folk left so I could find a space. Creaky, old fashioned, quirky, but it was fine value for money and very very Ye -olde - England, the yanks would love it no issues whatsoever would stay again

Arrived on the 27th for our brothers funeral on the 28th.stayed in room 5.very disappointed.room very dated.badly needs decorated.carpet was dirty.bathroom floor very uneven.large gap on bottom of door.wardrobe was behind door&you had to try manoeuvre yourself on a step to use it.bathroom was very cold.on going to go downstairs you had to open a fire door.that opened onto a very steep set of stairs to get down.after funeral we returned back to the bull for a meal.place was busy&meal was lovely.but unknown to us there was a band on.as our room was above where band was playing.the noise was unbelievable.the vibration was that bad the smoke alarm started to fall of roof.so no sleep till 12-15 when eventually fell over&we were up at 5am to get to Stansted for our flight home.so even tho staff.meal&downstairs was lovely.i wouldent stay again.sorry.
