“Great Hotel”

The hotel location and the walkway/tunnels made it possible for us to walk to the Metro Center and the casino without having to walk outside in the pouring rain. Staff were very helpful in directing us to where we needed to be and the rooms were very clean and inviting. The only downfall was it was very pricey for a one night stay. That being said , it wouldn't stop me from staying again.

“Halifax Marriott Waterfront - a visit to cherish”

I find it unusual to stay in a hotel where everything is just right but this one was truly impressive in every respect. From the initial greeting as we arrived throughout our nine night stay my wife and I were made to feel welcome and nothing was too much of an effort to provide. Main restaurant, pub and coffee shop were all very good with an excellent selection of food and drink at acceptable pricesfor a four/five star establishment and our room was extremely well equipped and serviced. The hotel location on the Halifax Waterfront with boardwalk and easy walking access to downtown made it ideal as we have slightly limited mobility. Our room location on the fifth floor gave us a very interesting harbour view. The hotel had good leisure activities provided although we did not use these and with a Hertz branch on site car hire was straightforward. We should be delighted to return on a future occasion.

Area recommendations

Halifax Waterfront and Boardwalk as the centre of the tourist area and starting point for a range of city and area tours including sails. However as an historic city there is a great deal to see and do in a reasonably compact area. Halifax is also an excellent centre from which to tour the many attractions of Nova ScOTIA.

Any time except November - early March. Particularly good in September/October for Fall colours and May/June.

“Will stay there again on our next visit.”

The hotel is well situated, on the beautiful Halifax waterfront. There are many bistros, pubs, and touristy things to do within walking distance. There are museums for abit of history, and shopping for those inclined. The hotel itself was very nice, and the staff extremely helpful....some going the extra mile to ensure we were taken care of.

Downtown. The area has been wonderfully restored and brings a different walk every day.

“No bed”

Had prepaid. Arrived late (after midnight) - they said only one room left in entire hotel. Fold out bed - wouldn't even go flat. Room also had no bath - only a shower. I would have compained but it was 1:00 am and I wasn;t in the mood... On the bright side, staff were extremely friendly and accomodating. Note - no late room service and few late eateries. Ended up at a local all night grocery store.

“Going back next October”

Hotel is located right in the city and very near both casino if that interests you or the boardwalk and downtown. Can walk to most attractions. Check in was late and that was a disappointment, but other than that everything was good. The parking garage made it convenient to come and go when the car was needed. Overall I would go back again.

Area recommendations

We went to see Peggy's Cove and it was a beautiful 30 minute drive out of the city. We drove all around the coast taking a different route back and was able to see all the small fishing areas and waterfront. It was a wonderful drive.

Dining

We had excellent food at McElvies seafood, five minutes walk from the hotel and Il Mercado up near Dalhousie University. Both excellent places to eat, will definitely go there again.

“THe Halifax Marriott was one of the most pleasant hotelsw I have ever experienced”

What more can I say? From the moment we arrived until our departure we were treated with true Haligonian friendliness. Alexa at the concierge is a gem and assisted us wih all of our travel plans. Of course when she was not at the desk, Simon too was a great help. Look forward to returning time and time again.

Area recommendations

THe Annapolis valley, it is breath taking. We took a wine tour with go North Tours and we were so pleased that we did. A must when visiting Halifax.

“Great room, great location”

This hotel is very conveniently located and very well maintained. Beds were actually better than bed at home! The only drawback of the room was that it's view was the indoor pool. Staff were friendly and helpful.

“Very pleasant stay”

The Marriott Harbour is a beautiful hotel located directly, you guessed it, on the Harbour. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and competent. When my boyfriend's daughter needed to stay with us for a couple of nights during our stay, we asked for a cot, and they very helpfully suggested they could switch us to a room with 2 beds instead, no extra charge. The only 2 minor things I can think of that were negative is that they pillows are not very comfortable, and internet was not included in fee, you needed to pay extra for that, but it did include long distance calls. Overall, we definitely enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
