Very friendly staff, fascinating history, comfortable facility. The only change I would suggest is that the electric vehicle charging stations should include a type 3 charging cord which would allow rental cars to use them. (Rentals do not come with anything other than the most basic cord for home use - type 2.)

Great stay near the fortress
Great hotel near the Fredriksten festning. Breakfast was very good and the room had plenty of space. Free wifi is included. Parking was a little crowded, but nice that they provide a parking lot for guests.

Nice hotel located outside the city on the hillside, a fair 15 mins walk to city. Very nice and quite hotel atmosphere, with a spectacular view. Poor internet and TV reception, however hotel personnel well above average making the stay and breakfast at high class. Hotel located near the old fortress which is a must to visit. The hotel it self is an old military building.

It was my first time at Fredriksten, and I am completely satistisfied. It lies in the picturesque area and you can sit outside and enjoy the view with your cup of coffee. Helpful staff and good breakfast. Room were clean. Worth revisiting!

Amazing stay
It has an amazing location just next to the old castle of Frederiksten. The personnel was very friendly and helpful. All precautions were taken in this time of Corona. Breakfast super. Just very good and not overly expensive

The hotel is located outside of Halden. Loads of parking. Front desk staff and breakfast staff are excellent.

Very comfortable, bit remote from town. Menu options in restaurant are not so much, but food was OK. Not so lucky with a firealarm at 06.30.

Clean and modern but a little out of town
Free wifi throughout the hotel but it required a full log in every time it was used, a real inconvenience, room was large and spotless but cleaning service was not as expected, used coffee cups not replaced or washed etc.

Ideal for a getaway weekend
The hotel and the staff were really nice, the breakfast was excellent. Free, good wi-fi and the possibility of casting streaming services on tv from your mobile. Another plus was the free parking and the view. We got a room at the 3rd floor, we could see the whole town beneath us all covered in snow in the morning - it was truly beautiful. :-) we certainly will go back during spring/summer .

Vurder en natt her framfor et hotell "downtown"
Et koselig og lunt hotell oppe i høyden av Halden. Det var en fin atmosfære over hele plassen, og en kunne se og føle historien i veggene. Kort avstand ned til sentrum, og ikke minst en flott beligghet ved siden av festningen. Rommet var lite og intimt, flott innredet. Kunne gjerne ønsket meg enda et hakk mer konfortabel seng og puter. Men alt i alt en god opplevelse. Frokost var helt i høyden og en kunne finne mye lokale og økologiske produkter.

Mysig övernattning i Fredriksten
Väldigt trevligt hotell med utsikt över Fredrikstens fästning och över Halden. Väldigt bra frukost med närproducerade råvaror och mycket trevlig personal i receptionen. Enkelt att ta sig ner till centrum eller upp till fästningen.
