The hotel is in the middle of Agia Marina, so any side you walk there are restaurants, supermarkets and other things. The hotel has very clean pool and is on beach front.

Underrated hotel due to ‘tiredness’ of rooms. Great flowers in the property. Well maintained. Literally right on the beach. Great pool and pool bar with food. Supermarket over the road and plenty of great tavernas at a short walk. Breakfast good but could do with some variation some days.

Fair Assessment.
The property location is great and the services was great. The bathroom needed a makeover. Then there was the mattress - it was rock hard and what I imagine prisoners sleep on. I’ve heard other rooms have been renovated. If they have then the place is a bargain.

Wrong room wasn't what I asked for as special occasion , receptionist rude said we didn't pay much gave are room to someone who payed more and staying longer . Only 10sunbeds around pool area impossible to lie on one .Our room also smelt damp .

Room 63 which was facing a busy road with view of carpark & electric pylons in the main part of the hotel.The room was small & dated with old style TV,3/4 size bath tub with nowhere to hang the shower,2 single beds & small balcony. Could not have patio doors open because of the road noise & the room temperature was stifling (early Sept). We went back downstairs to reception & said we were not happy with our room &asked to be moved. Were told to come back to speak to manager in the morning, as the hotel was fully booked. Had no option but to pay 8€ for air con per night.Next morning spoke to manager who said we could change to Room 20 after lunch when others checked out. Rm 20 was floor level,in garden part of hotel. A different world!Lg room with 2 singles &sofa bed,flat screen tv,radio, b/side lamps, 2 phones, patio doors leading to good size private patio. It made a huge difference.B/fast was ample,continental.Hotel 10 mins walk to Platanias with plenty of shops/bars/restaurants.There is a s/market right opp. hotel.Free Wifi in lobby area only.Lovely gardens&pool area leading straight onto beach. The beach in front of the hotel has rocks, but walk 500yds to the right of hotel, it's much easier to get into water. There are much nicer beaches on the island if you have car. Staff all friendly& helpful. Negatives: lack of sunbeds around the pool, about 15 with potentially 150 guests was completely inadequate.We also thought the 8€charge per day for aircon was too steep.

Marina Sands Art Hotel.
Excellent Hotel location and close to sea. Staff were very helpful, Especially Efi and Katrina behind the desk. Facilities are basic but typical of Greek Hotel.I could not fault room and cleanliness of room. Only one concern: Hotel Management need to sort out Beach bar as it opens at erratic times and doesn't provide much in the way of snacks etc.

Very good location and nicely laid out hotel
Very disappointed with room allocated as not the same as photos. Asked at reception and got reply of 'you have double room with sea view that is what you booked' he also said that was one of the older rooms but cost the same as the refurbished rooms. I thought that booking with expedia this wouldn't have happened. No hairdryer, very small.

Only good thing was its location
They "didn't have my booking information", even though I booked and confirmed 3 months in advance. Due to this, they sent me to stay at another hotel nearby the first of my 4 nights that I was planning on spending there. Terrible. Staff had attitude. And what the hell kind of a hotel charges €8 a night for air condition. Worst experience ever. Never going there again.

Location fantastic right on beach.
What a lovely little place to stay. Hotel was spotless and rooms were spacious and had a fridge. Little patio with tables and chairs looking onto lovely borders with flowers and claiming rose bushes etc. There are no hair dryers in the rooms even though advertised. Air con was extra €8 per day, well worth it as rooms were hot and there was a bit of road noise which was drowned out. Breakfast was not the best just usual continental and tinned fruit cocktail or peaches. The waiter was really grumpy and I never saw him smile once- he then turns into the bar man at pool. The reception staff especially Efie were soooooooh helpful. There are only about 15 sun beds ( free) around the lovely pool and we could never get one due to the towel brigade. Shocking. This meant we had to pay for the hotels sun beds on the beach not really a problem but just so annoying. The bar area could have tables and chairs reduced by half and more sun beds put out. These were only minor problems we really did have a fabulous time here and would certainly book this hotel again.

Pool & beach were awesome!
Hotel staff were nice, except for the two young men who were working when we arrived. They have us a room for 2 people, we had 3. This required hauling our luggage up a flight of stairs, then back down when we discovered it was the wrong room. 2nd room they gave us smelled like paint or some sort of fumes, very overpowering. Room was hot. Toilet seat broken. They gave us a 3rd room, along with some attitude. Day shift desk clerk was extremely helpful and kind. Breakfast was adequate, not a lot of stuff but enough to get your fill. Staff kept area cleaned away nicely; and food filled up.

För pengarna vi betalt för detta rum så hade vi väntat oss lite bättre standard. Sängarna var tyvärr under all kritik, ingenstans att hänga upp strandhanddukar och inte ens ett glas att använda till medhavd dryck. Jo vi använde tandborstmuggarna. Personalen var annars väldigt trevliga och hjälpsamma.

La prima impressione al momento dell’arrivo è stata piuttosto negativa a causa della scarsa accoglienza riservataci alla reception (dove per altro la Signora ci ha fatto attendere 30 minuti senza nemmeno scusarsi). Detto ciò, in seguito ci siamo ricreduti grazie alla gentilezza degli altri membri dello staff. Abbiamo trovato un buon livello di pulizia, camera discreta, la vista mare era solo parziale. La colazione non ci ha entusiasmato, ma comunque una discreta scelta. Posizione ottima!

Marina sands ligt heerlijk. Je staat gelijk op het strand. En vlakbij de restaurants en winkeltjes. Chania 15 min met bus. Airport 30 min. Onze kamer had een terras met twee stoelen en tafel. De kamer heeft een airco. De buitenunit hangt aan het terras gedeelte wat erg veel lawaai oplevert. De kamer is eenvoudig, maar fijn. De badkamer heeft de douche in bad. Die bad zag er smoelzelig uit. Bed is hard waar je de vering doorheen voelt. Als je daar last van hebt mag je om een topper vragen bij receptie. Dat was fijn. Wij hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad. We wisten dat het een simpel accommodatie was daarom hadden we geen hoge eisen. De poolbar is ook ok. Met iedere dag een ander specialiteit. Was erg lekker. Nog wel een verbeterpunt is. Het tekort aan parasols bij zwembad. Het waren er maar stuk of 3. Nu ben je verplicht om bedjes met parasols te huren op het strand. En de handdoekleggers dat is natuurlijk bijna overal een irritatie puntje. Zodoende hebben wij nooit bij het zwembad kunnen liggen. Wat erg jammer was. En het ook duurder maakte doordat we de bedjes iedere dag moesten huren. Zou ik er nog keer naartoe gaan? Jazeker.

Hôtel correct très bien situé.
L'hôtel est très correct et bien situé dans La Canée. Jolie piscine, magnifique jardin, petit déjeuner bien, proximité immédiate jolie plage. Deux critiques à faire dans mon cas/ impossibilité pendant toute la semaine d'obtenir la réparation de la télévision en pane, et propreté de la baignoire douteuse.

Hotellet har ett fantastiskt läge med fin utsikt från poolen. Vi kom på kvällen och upptäckte då att vi fått ett rum utan havsutsikt trots att vi bokat ett med men det var inget problem att byta morgonem efter. Frukosten var väldigt tråkig och sängarna så otroligt hårda att min partner hade svårt att sova men personalen var trevlig och läget som sagt underbart så vi njöt ändå mycket!

Fantastisk service
Servicen på dette hotel var helt fantastisk, og de var meget hjælpsomme. Skøn beliggenhed ved strand og udsigt fra værelset. Det ligger også godt placeret i forhold til restauranter og butikker, tæt på Platinia. HELT SIKKERT VI VIL BESØGE DETTE STED IGEN!!

Buon rapporto qualità/prezzo, colazione abbondante e piscina con vista tramonto. Il personale è gentile e disponibile. All’esterno la struttura è molto bella, mentre le camere dipende da quale ti assegnano. La nostra prima stanza al piano terra era davvero molto spartana, mentre la seconda al piano superiore era gradevole e con vista mare.

La struttura non è nuova. Però è tenuta bene. La nostra camera era un appartamento con 2 camere separate, bagno e grande terrazzo. Addirittura un cucinino con frigo. Il bagno sarebbe da rinnovare ma cmq pulito e utilizzabile al 100%. Il punto forte della struttura è la bellissima piscina fronte mare e l'accesso alla spiaggia diretto. La colazione così così.

Vi hadde bestilt et 16 dagers opphold på Marina sands. Utsiden er fin, og fargerrik. Beliggenheten i seg selv er grei. Ligger rett ved stranda, og har supermarket rett over veien. En gåtur på 10-15 minutter kommer man til platanias, hvor det skjer litt mer. Det som ikke er bra med Marina Sands er blant annet renholdet. Det var edderoppegg og edderkoppspinn på senga under madrassen. Det tyder på at renholdet er dårlig, og at de ikke har vasket ordentlig før åpning av hotellet. Vi fikk et nytt rom, hvor aircondtionen bråkte ekstremt, hørtes ut som vi hadde et helikopter på rommet. Sengene er veldig harde, og du får garantert vondt i kroppen. Det var kakkerlakk på rommet, og det var blant annet en annen familie som endte opp med å bytte hotell kl 00:00 pga det. Alt i alt var vi veldig misfornøyde og trivdes veldig dårlig. Vi bestemte oss for å bruke litt ekstra penger, og endte opp på 5-stjernershotellet porto platanias beach & spa og ferien kunne endelig begynne. Styr unna.

Dejlig beliggenhed, lige ud til havet. Smukke solnedgange.Smuk beplantning og smukt område. Pool ok. Morgenmaden var fin, hvis man ikke forventer æg og bacon. Ældre slidte værelser, og ikke altid varmt vand. Men hyggeligt og anvendeligt. Hårde senge. Poolbaren har et fint udvalg af lækker mad. Masser af handlemuligheder lige udenfor hotellet. Dog kun supermarkeder og souvenirbutikker, og masser af hyggelige restauranter. Kun wifi i foyer og i baren, og det var ikke særlig godt. Eget net var bedre. Bus til Chania kører ca 200 m fra hotel. Der er det sædvanlige problem med reservering af solsenge ved poolen med håndklæder, men i det mindste er det ikke tilladt at spærre stole før kl 8 om morgenen, så man behøver ikke snige sig ud midt om natten, for at være sikker på at få en solseng. Og lægges de på inden kl 8, bliver de fjernet.
