James met me at the ferry and brought me tight to the suite. 200 yards away. Easy access to everything. I locked part of my luggage in the room by mistake when I was leaving and he was there in 2 minutes to rescue me to catch my ferry on time. I was on my own so didn’t require much but he certainly was there when I needed help:)

The location was perfect! Right next to the bus station and a quick walk to restaurants/shops. Staff were super helpful and very sweet! Breakfast was good. The room was New York City size but impeccably clean and beds were really comfortable. I wish we had got the room next door as it had a balcony where we could sit and enjoy the amazing view and also dry the day’s beach things. Definitely would recommend this place.

Lovely hotel in great location with view of port
We loved this hotel, which was a great place to start our island hopping, with great views of the ferries (but surprisingly quiet). Very helpful, friendly staff - who put us in touch with car hire company next door.

Really relaxing and comfortable hotel.
A small hotel in a very nice place just infront of the syros port with a lot of restaurants and Cafe nearby, the staff are very friendly with delicious breakfast.

A spotlessly clean hotel in the heart of Ermoupoli, about two minutes' walk from the ferry port and with picturesque views over the harbour and sea. Double-glazing in the room eliminated all traffic noise. Exceptionally friendly family-run hotel with excellent service and tasty breakfasts

Musical chairs anyone?
Nothing wrong with the hotel itself just staff attitude. On checking in we were told that we would have to change rooms after 1 night of our 3 night stay. We were reassured that the room was exactly the same just on 2nd not 3rd floor. We obviously expressed our displeasure but took the room anyway, hot and tired! On reflection I returned to reception to discuss the problem and look for resolution. I was told that there was no problem that the 'new room' was exactly the same. I asked why she couldn't put tomorrow's arrivals in the 'new room' but was told that was not possible. It sounded like moving rooms was normal practice?? There was nothing she could do, if I wasn't happy i should ring Hotels.com. So I did. What superb service! Ten minutes later we had a call from reception to say that the problem had been sorted and we could stay in the room for all 3 nights. WELL DONE HOTELS.COM

Lovely hotel in Syros
This hotel is opposite where the ferries arrive so very handy and very close to town. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We had a room on the street side with a balcony and it could be a bit noisy in the full summer season with traffic but in April it was ok for us. They also have another hotel just up the road away from the street with renovated rooms but we didn't see them. We were very happy with the Esperance1.

Phantastika! Great location, friendly staff
Very helpful and friendly staff. The room was very clean and had a great balcony overlooking the sea. The location was directly opposite the pier which made it perfect for catching the ferry, directly next to the main bus stop to head to the beaches, and directly next to the main strip with lots of bars and restaurants. It’s also at the less touristy end out the bay which was good for finding hidden tavernas. Only possible down side is that it’s near the main road and the ferry port, which might bother some people (although there’s not that main ferry’s anyway), but we didn’t really notice when the doors were shut, plus it makes it so near everything that we didn’t need to get any taxis. Would definitely book again.

I enjoyed my time at Esperance and the staff was outstanding. The building is right across from the dock where all the boats come in, so it can be very busy. The only challenge was the size of the room, very small , walk up with a funky outdoor patio.

Right across the street from port.
We had a short layover in Syros and needed a place to just freshen up and recharge for a day. This place was perfect for that.

Syros was the last island on our holiday and it was great to stay in a proper hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious with good bathrooms and a comfy bed. Its located right beside the ferry terminal and a short walk takes you into into the town center. I would definitely recommend a stay here if you are in Hermoupolis.

Great disappointment
When we booked the hotel at esperance 1 march the owner called us to tell us that he has available rooms also at esperance 2 because we were a lot of people. I told him the ratings are not good and he ensure us that he did a renovation this year. We talked to the phone 3 times and always he was ensuring me that the rooms we will stay will be renovated. One week before we arrived he called me to tell me that he double booked our room and if i was ok to move to another room after two days. I asked again if the room he wants to give us is renovated and after he said yes i told him ok i will help him even though it was his fault. When he took us to that room it was 100 year old, very dirty, the bathroom was so old you couldnt even touch the courtain. The bed was black all over under. Awfull. When i told the owner he told me that he couldn't do anything i m sorry and you can have 10 euro discount. I told him i didnt care for 10 euros i just wanted what i booked 5 months ago not a stable.

Explore Syros from the Esperance Hotel
Hotel is on the harbour front within 100m of both the bus station and ferry terminal. Is is about a 5 minute walk into the town centre. Family run business with everyone wanting to ensure that you have a good holiday and experience. You can use Ermopouli to visit the outlying beach resorts with a single journey by bus costing no more that 1.9 euro or 15 euro by cab. Try the squid stuffed with feta and served with sweet mustard sauce (sounds 'interesting', tastes great) at the taverna just behind the hotel.

Delightful stay at Esperance 1
Esperance 1 is a friendly and very well run hotel. You can see it as the ferry pulls in. The walk to the hotel is short. Views from the hotel rooms are across the harbor to some beautiful buildings and any mega yachts that might have arrived. I asked for recommendations of places for lunch and dinner and was given superb advice. The street along the harbor is busy, end to end. Somehow the hotel patio offers both shade and quiet. Walking into the town center on the street behind the hotel is a nice alternative. I would happily stay here again. The room was incredibly quiet with the window shut and silent AC on. Everything about the room was well thought out to make the stay comfortable.

We had three nights in Syros. Esperence 1 is 50 metres from the ferry terminal and is a new building. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We caught the 9.25 p.m. ferry out and the staff looked after our luggage all day. Very good accommodation at a good price.

This hotel is a perfect location!
It is close to the town, very close to the ferry port and it was clean, recently refurbished. What more could you want! Continental Breakfast for 5 euros was good value and the staff are very obliging and friendly. (Infact I had left a few things in the wardrobe and they knew which ferry I was catching so bought the things down to me!) I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is staying in beautiful Syros.

clean hotel located very near ferry port
My wife and I enjoyed a two night stay at this hotel. I liked the proximity to the ferry port for its convenience. However, there is some hustle and bustle that comes with port life. The beds were comfortable and we were able to get a good nights sleep. Its fun to sit with a cup of coffee in the morning and watch the city come to life.

Flott hotell i hjertet av byen og 20 meter til busstasjon. På dette hotellet blir en tatt godt vare på. Veldig hyggelig personale, rent og pent.
