"It was fantastic! Honestly I cannot fault it, the only thing I’d suggest is a thin mattress topper so that you can’t feel the buttons on the mattress. Staff were lovely, everything in the room you could want. I appreciated the little bottle of semi skimmed milk in the fridge, and bottles of water!"

"The Crown & Cushion is a delightful, old characterful pub in a convenient location. In line with its charming character, stairs are steep to rooms and floorboards wonky, so not good for people with reduced mobility. The en-suite in the room was large, bed comfortable. Had dinner and breakfast, food is great. All staff are friendly and helpful, particularly Carlos who was brilliant. "

"Stayed two nights for a long weekend, perched on the edge of Highclere Castle for our visit. Quite close to the A34, but even though our room was on that side we had no traffic noise. Nice little room upstairs in the cottage next door. Breakfast was included and that was excellent. Also had two evening meals, sample photos attached. Chef is very talented. Would happily return."

The hotel was an easy 30 minute walk to Jane Austen’s home and Chawton. Would highly recommend the Swan Hotel for a stay in Alton."

"My husband and I are Brits but live in the US, we were visiting family for the week and decided last minute (literally 24 hours notice) to spend one night between long car journeys at a B&B halfway, did a quick hotels.com search and found Bel and The Dragon, the only place with a King bed at such short notice. I called to let them know we'd probably not arrive til about 7:30/8pm and spoke to Luke, such a professional, he told me it was no problem and that he'd book a table for us for dinner so...
