Fall Getaway
Wow, what a fabulous weekend getaway. The home and property are beautiful. Everything you need is available for a relaxing vacation. Enough space for a family or group of friends. Randy is one of the best property owners I’ve worked with. Easy to communicate with and very accommodating. We will be staying here again!

A Magical Retreat
We were completely enchanted by this log cabin oasis. Nestled just a short, 5min scenic walk away from a private lake beachfront, this home was an absolute dream. The trail to the beach is a curvy delight, and the house itself is both grand and cozy. It's a paradise for dogs and water lovers alike— with kayaks aplenty, and even a floating pontoon perfect for sunbathing. The kitchen is equipped for any culinary endeavor, but if you forget anything, fear not; grocery stores and Target/Walmart are conveniently nearby. A pro tip for future guests: bring a rolling cart to easily transport your beach/fishing gear to the sandy haven. Firewood is abundant, and we were even treated to a double rainbow over the house—just adding to the magical ambiance. We rounded out our evenings with family sunset cruises on the pontoon boat. Truly, this is a slice of heaven. Highly recommend for a memorable, enchanted getaway.

Northern MN gateway
Our family had a great time at the Peterson Bay cabin! The property was secluded and tranquil yet close to town for amenities. Very clean! We enjoyed mornings on the spacious outdoor deck and evenings by the lake with beautiful views. Randy was very prompt with booking and providing info; very smooth process! Thankful we had this experience and would highly recommend.

Log cabin in the woods
What a beautiful log cabin in the woods to begin with! I also have to admit this was my 1st and guest's experience with Verbo/air- BNB! So wasn't quite sure what to expect nor do I have experience to compair to! The log cabin was stunning and quite modern, which made it an enjoyable experience. I did note each portable air conditioner had black mold in the vents! Not a bother to me but one in our party was/is sensitive so was of notice! I was very comforted knowing the cabin had working air conditioning if desired! The cabin layout, kitchen, multiple beds were steller! Pleanty of cooking space with plenty of kitchen equipment (pots/pans)! So appreciate that!!!! The "welcome letter" of dos and donts was in GREAT DEPTH...multiple pages! Related, I was unable to pull the letter up via email (maybe my error as I am not too tech savy) and should have read re-read in great dept PRIOR to arrival. Again, it was nice to have text/phone access to the owner for questions/clarification. Although, owner appeared to be annoyed by this even though voiced otherwise! (Which was of 3xs). opener/compliment which changed whole experience for all was the fact that the owner stayed on the property during our stay. He wasnt visually in our space but gave sense of HOVERING....noticed multiple camers in the home stated unplugged but didnt help. *lake is not within view of log cabin *1/2 block of rugged walk to lake *no boat access if bringing own boat from cabin & questionable if to this lake

Hi, I will only say that in 8 years of renting I have had two 4 star reviews and the rest 5 Star. And I will stand on that and others can read that. There is a public access for the boat you brought 2 miles from the lodge. It would be illegal for me to create one on my property in this day and age. You did not communicate with the rest of the group all I had communicated to you so I let them know the whole property was theirs to use which they didn't know - Like both docks and the whole beach area. I never even approached the lodge where you were staying except to welcome you and thank you for coming when I showed your significant other where to park the boat he had brought. All cameras were unplugged - which you state you could see. I am sorry you felt I was hovering. As you can see from other reviews I try to operate as a resort owner and enjoy talking with most people and they seem to appreciate my personal touch and extras provided. But I always try to maximize your privacy. It is true that I prevented you and your group from pulling a big tube behind my pontoon which was expressly prohibited for safety reasons in my pontoon instructions as the pontoon is not set up for that. And yes I offered compensation of not paying for the pontoon since you seemed upset about that. At any rate - I really wish you the best Elissa. Blessings, Randy I

Amazing Family Getaway!
We had a great time at Randy’s beautiful log home. The place was very clean, beds were comfortable. My kids ranging in age from 8 to 18 all had a great time. My daughter filled the house with music playing the piano for us. I enjoyed my coffee on the peaceful deck and we enjoyed lots of family meals in the 3 season porch. Then bonfires in the evening to end the day. All the wood was cut, split and ready for us when we got there. We all really enjoyed the lake and beach. We were able to take the pontoon out fishing and for sunset cruises. We spent a ton of time swimming, jumping off the raft, kayaking, paddle boarding and just sitting on the beach. Randy was very responsive and eager to help with anything that we needed. We can’t wait to go back and make more memories.

Quiet and Relaxing!
We stayed Memorial weekend to kick off our summer and had a great time. We had 4 adults and 4 kids (ages 7-1.5). Randy was so accommodating and had great communication. It was so quiet and peaceful, I feel like we had the loudest kids at the lake. The little beach was great, the kids buried each other in the sand and rinsed off in the lake. We rented the pontoon for fishing and cruising and it was so nice to see the whole lake. The kids caught many fish off the docks and couldn’t have been happier. The house is cozy and we were all comfortable. We would definitely come back in the future.

A cozy and relaxing Thanksgiving stay

great getaway for a family of 4!
We had a lovely weekend wrapping up summer with our 3.5 yr old and 10 mo old. The sandy beach was perfect and the lake water seemed really clean (for a lake!) - even with cloudy weather our toddler was more than happy to walk into the water and dig around in the sand. The little 1 min forest walk between the cabin and the lake turned out to be a perfect place for exploring and scavenger hunts. The cabin was great and Randy was incredibly communicative. While there isn't central AC, there were lots of fans and a few strategically placed window units. Might be a bit toastier in the lower two bedrooms for any weather over 80 degrees but we didn't have any problems with the end-of-summer temps we had. Overall a fantastic northern Minnesota getaway!

Fun & relaxing setting for a family vacation!

Tranquil getaway
The property is gorgeous! Our kids loved the sandy beach and the swim area was very clear. The fishing was excellent (we rented the pontoon but a couple people caught fish off the dock too) and the bonfire area was great. The house was awesome with comfortable beds, large bedrooms and great views, plus the deck was huge. We loved the sunroom for games and relaxing. We also really enjoyed being close to town. Randy was very communicative which was wonderful. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Relaxing
This was our first time staying in a log home and it was a wonderful experience. The home is surrounded by trees with peak views of the lake which made it absolutely beautiful and relaxing.! Th deck is nice and big for the family to hang out on and the yard is. Very well kept. The beds were comfy and the home was very clean. The ease of having a rented pontoon, already on site, made fishing more enjoyable for all of us. You might not caught anything really large but you will definitely catch fish!! Added bonuses: The master bedroom shower is AMAZING!!! The cute family of fox living down by the lake was so sweet to see everyday.

Amazing family time!
From the fire pit to the pontoon boat to the beautiful location, this property was worth every penny!! Gorgeous log cabin with plenty of room! The deck is heavenly! Only complaint would be the mosquitos, but they sell spray for that …lol!!

Had a great time at the lake. Rented the pontoon and went out fishing quite a bit. Never caught walleye, but very large Northerns and one bass. (We threw them all back in for the next person to enjoy catching). House was very comfortable, loved the shower off the master bedroom. There are no extra kitchen cupboards to store any food you bring, so we kept food we didn't refrigerate in large bins in the sunroom right off the dining area, which we also used to keep jigsaw puzzles going the whole time. When Randy says bring bath towels, also bring wash rags and hand towels, none are provided. Randy was extremely easy to work with, everything was set out and ready for us early, and the 2 bottles of wine that were on the counter for us were very appreciated! Would go back any time, was hard to leave when our vacation was over!

Beautiful property
We had a great stay in the Northwoods of Minnesota. We fished off the dock and took out the pontoon too. Kids enjoyed the kayaks and paddleboat. At night we all relaxed by the fire. The property was just what we needed and we loved the log home charm.

Great Cabin in the North Woods
We had a great time at this large log cabin in the woods. Kitchen was big with lots of counter space, the four season porch was perfect for playing games and cards. My favorite was the large deck, We sat out there at night to watch the stars and listen to the animals walking through the woods below us. I told my niece and nephew it was a Sasquatch but they proved me wrong the next morning when they found the deer prints in the mud. Lots of wildlife all around; owls, woodpeckers, eagles, deer, etc. We used the pontoon to cruise around the lake, the water was clean and clear. Randy was very nice and checked in with us via text to see if we needed anything. Checking in and out was simple and easy. Highly recommend this cabin for anyone who wants a true Minnesota north woods experience.

Great family get-away!

Best 60th Birthday
We stayed at the Peterson Bay lodge for my mother’s 60th birthday and had a WONDERFUL experience. It was soo nice to be in a place where the six of us had enough room to spread out and yet all be in the same room when we wanted without feeling ontop of each other. It was a perfect Fall weekend that allowed for us to enjoy a fire both inside and out. Randy’s home is clean, welcoming and comfortable. The views are great and we enjoyed the lake. We rented the boat and that process was simple too! We enjoyed putzing around and even though we didn’t get one bite in the three days we fished, we enjoyed feeling like we had the lake to ourselves. The property is secluded and yet it’s a quick jaunt to town. We enjoyed the area golf courses and the local “rummage sale weekend”. Randy we wonderful to communicate with and we all would like to return at least one next summer. If you want to feel like you’re in a lodge on your own, here’s the place!

Excellent Family Getaway
My family of five spent Labor Day weekend at this property and it was great. John was extremely helpful and accommodating and the property itself was excellent. It's both close to a couple of towns while also being remote. Our boys spent a lot of time fishing and our daughter enjoyed the beach and doing crafts on the deck. We'd definitely go back.

Great place!
Randy’s place was great. We were immediately impressed with how clean the home was, and how awesome the private sandy beach was. It was a perfect spot for our 3 and 4 year olds. Appreciated the lake toys (paddle board, kayaks, canoe, etc). The four season porch was a particularly nice gathering place in the evenings. While the lake is small, it does the trick. We would definitely recommend this property.

Fantastic!
We loved this beautiful log home, it was perfect for our two families. The kids especially loved the water- jumping off the raft, the kayaks, paddle bot, etc. The pontoon was great for fishing, no ladder for jumping off and getting back on, but we didn’t need it because they loved the raft! Very relaxing place And the deck is amazing!

Wonderful “Up North” Getaway
We stayed for nearly a full week at the cabin with our two kids who are 13 and 8 years old. The log cabin is cozy, comfortable, and beautiful. We loved the large deck, fire pit in the lawn, and the many amenities such as games, books, s’mores sticks, life jackets, fully stocked kitchen, WiFi, grill, and movies that were all available to use. There is a short walk on a quaint trail through the woods (it feels a bit magical!) to get to the sandy beach and lake—where we enjoyed kayaking and fishing off the dock. (It’s shallow enough for the kids to jump off the dock, too!) We took the pontoon out and the kids loved the swivel chairs. :) Thank you for sharing your home with us, Randy!

A wonderful getaway

Memorial Day
We stayed over Memorial Day and it was so peaceful. The place is absolutely gorgeous. We had fun on the lake and everyone enjoyed using the pontoon. We Caught some good size northerns and Randy was great! He was super nice and gave us some great suggestions for fishing. I would definitely go back!

Paradise for a family
Aside from possibly the most stunning sunset I’ve ever photographed, this cabin was better than we could have hoped for. From coffee off the master BR deck with the sunrise to dinner in the 4 season porch as it set and sitting out on the dock watching the stars appear our family thoroughly enjoyed everything about this cabin. We’ll need to plan to stay longer next time. Randy was fantastic to work with & really made the mini-vacation extra special. Highly recommend this place!!

Cozy Christmas
Very relaxing place to spend Christmas with our family. Very clean. The fireplace made it very cozy. Lots of books to read. We ice skated on the lake just outside and went sledding. The break we needed from our usual hustle.

Beautiful small lake in Minnesota north woods
Beautiful log cabin home. Well equipped kitchen, wonderful fireplace with lots of wood available. No Indian summer, but we enjoyed the pontoon boat and even took a few plunges in the chilly water. Randy was beyond helpful. Great way for some Californians to get a taste of Minnesotan Lake life.

We stayed here labor day weekend (my husband, myself and our 2 kids ages 11yrs and 3yrs) We rented the pontoon which was well worth it as we went fishing everyday. The cabin is beautiful and the location was so private and relaxing! We will definitely go back!

Perfect getaway
Great home and property with bonus amenities! Owner is a super good guy. Plenty of room for our group of 8. Meat market in town has awesome beef. Town is close by and has great pizza & everything you could possibly need as well. Lake has good fishing and is not busy at all. Will definitely stay again!!

Beautiful home, great location
Our family of 10 (including 3 kids and an infant) greatly enjoyed our stay. The home is spacious, clean and well-equipped. Plenty of outdoor space around the cabin and down by the water. Great memories at the beach too, the kids loved the sandy area and use of kayaks. Pontoon rental was very easy and while it was pretty breezy during our stay it didn’t stop the boys from going through A LOT of minnows. Thanks for opening up your place to us Randy!!!

Perfect Northern MN Getaway
This home is gorgeous. It's exactly what you think of for a perfect lake property in Northern Minnesota. It feels very secluded but you are only 15 minutes from Target. Relaxing, refreshing, plenty of space. It was just what we needed to escape our busy life for a week!

Great Stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cabin. The property had everything we wanted and was in excellent shape. The grill was awesome and there was an excellent place to roast some s’mores for the kids. We enjoyed some great fishing on the lake in both the canoe and kayaks as well as the pontoon we rented from Randy. Everything was very clean. The location was perfect, far enough from town that it was quiet but close enough you could run to town if you forgot something. Just an awesome experience I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice quiet getaway. We’ve done several VRBO stays and this one was my favorite. Randy was quick to answer any questions prior to our stay and made sure we had everything we needed. Loved the cabin and the area is absolutely beautiful.

Northwoods Getaway
Our family had a great reunion at this picturesque setting ! The cabin has all of the comfortable amenities of our homes only has a lake and beautiful woods ! Randy, the owner, made sure that all was okay. Hope to return one day !!
