The museum includes a building that was once Goethe’s Weimar home, with additional extensions added to the structure in 1913 and 1935 to house its fast-growing collection. Find the Goethe National Museum in the south of Weimar’s historic centre, less than 5 minutes’ walk from the Marktplatz. The museum is open every day except Monday. Opening hours vary depending on the time of year so be sure to check ahead. An entrance fee applies for all adults, though children under 16 go free.
