“Great hotel, cheap booze, but eat elsewhere!”

A lovely hotel, fantastic staff, lovely grounds and glorious beach. The restaurants had little atmosphere, so eat at the numerous beach shacks nearby. Top tip! Despite its luxury status the hotel bars had cheap booze!!! Happy hour decent beers for about 50p and wine for a couple of quid. Excellent!!!

“The Taj Experience”

What a fantastic hotel! My two teenage boys and I had a wonderful 6 days here. The grounds, rooms, swimming pool and beach are all beautiful. We played golf on their small 9 hole course and they had organised cricket or football each afternoon at 5.30 which was a big hit. They had a fleet of golf buggies to ferry guests around, so you never needed to walk unless you wanted to. The standard of food at the hotel was excellent with a range of different options, although it was all quite expensive bu Indian standards. But there were several beach shacks withing a few minutes walk of the hotel, as well as a couple lf restaurants just outside the main entrance, where you could eat for a fraction of the cost. Benaulim beach was only a 10 minute taxi ride away and it had lots of diffrerent places to choolse from too. For trips in the area the best things to do was go to the taxi company just outside the hotel where as this was also considerably cheaper than the tours offered by the hotel.

“NOT IMPRESSED”

CUISINE,OTHER THAN BREAKFAST,WAS EXCELLENT-AT A PRICE. SERVICE EXCELLENT. MY ROOM FLOOR WAS FILTHY. ALTHOUGH IT WAS SWEPT EVERYDAY THE TILES WERE NEVER MOPPED. THE 9 YEAR OLD ROOM NEEDED REFURBISHING AND MORE THAN A LICK OF PAINT. NOTE THAT DURING THE DAY THE PLACE IS A BIT LIKE MOSCOW BY THE SEA. THE RUSSIAN OCCUPANCY MUST BE 40-50%. OVERALL THE PLACE WAS GOOD VALUE FOR THE MONEY I PAID-IT WAS ON EXPEDIA SPECIAL OFFER.
