Pros: Unfortunately, we came down half an hour late for breakfast but the staff still bent over backwards and provided us both with a cooked breakfast!
Location: Pretty well located near to the centre of Cheltenham which is a shoppers haven!! Brilliant stay overall.
I would recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. It was comfortable, clean and the staff were extremely helpful. Would stay again without a shadow of a doubt.

Pros: Friendly relaxed atmosphere Late food available in bar till 10 pm, Spa facilities, we used swimming pool on both nights of our stay
Cons: Breakfast staff too efficient, we came back to our table with breakfast we collected from buffet and our table was totally cleared, but not a problem
Location: New Minster church in centre Old town shopping area, Town Hall, Park, Wilson museum St James car park machine to buy map had run out no £1.00 return
We were en route from Edinburgh to Frome and decided to book an overnight stay to break and enjoy the journey to and from.

Relaxing Stopover

Posted 24-Jun-2015
Pros: The spacious airy room. excellent meal. swimmimg pool. Staff
Cons: Bathrooms need some tlc
Location: set in beautiful grounds. five minutes into Cheltenham and a great base for the cotswolds and Gloucester.
We were very pleased with this hotel, set in beautiful grounds and easy to find. Was a bit of a long walk to our room with our bags but worth it. Great sized room with large comfortable bed and a view onto the grounds. The room was light and airy and comfortable with a good TV. Everywhere was really clean but the bathroom needs some updating. Evening meal in the hotels restaurant was truely excellent, we really enjoyed it. All the staff were friendly, polite and very efficient. The best bit for me was aswim in the pool at non extra charge, Excellent value. Will definately return.

Outdated!

Unhelpful staff, rooms outdated but to be fair very clean but breakfast terrible. Very disappointed with the attitudes of most staff. The first member of staff i came accross was very helpful (samantha) but other staff very unhelpful and did not go out of their way to help. Samantha had called to advise me that my clay pigeon shooting session was booked. When i called back to cancel it her colleague was very unhelpful and rude in manner when i asked for Samantha saying 'well shes not here in reception'. At the leisure centre my girlfriend went to serve herself a hot chocolate i advised the staff member at reception and he shrugged me off and made no attempt to assist with any refil. If he was unable to assist an apology would have not gone far. My girlfriend is a professional masseuse and as a present i had booked a massage. She said that her massage was awful and the therapist had broken every rule under the book leaving her in unnecessary pain afterwards. The breakfast we had was terrible. Cheap and overcooked. When arriving at our table we were met with leftovers from other guests. therefore on the sunday we had no want to attend breakfast. How this place has a rating of 4 stars I do not know!!!

fit for purpose

Posted 19-Jun-2015
Pros: beautiful grounds and good facilities such as the gym and pool.
Cons: would have been nice to have been offered tea or coffee at breakfast instead of having to go up to a machine to make this.
Location: Cheltenham is close and shopping is pretty good
The hotel is fine - clean and comfortable, but just lacking a bit in luxury. the rooms are starting look a bit tired, the toiletries provided were basic. The staff were polite, but lacked that little extra something that high end hotels provide. The restaurant served very nice food, but the service was only ok. for example when we ordered coffee (2 americanos), we had to ask for sugar and milk. I also noticed the couple next to us had steak but only when a waitress noticed they were struggling to cut it were they provided with steak knives. These to me, seem, basic parts of service, but overall it was a nice experience
