3 star

The staff were very friendly and approachable. I was however given the wrong room key at 12am which led to me walking in on an unfortunate couple a sleep to some distress. I would however stay at this hotel again.

Pleasant enough but a little dated.

Excellent service from hotel staff. Hotel a little dated but nice food and nice pool jacuzzi etc. Only problem was king sized bed was zipped up (obviously could unzip to be two singles) this made sleeping a little uncomfortable. If I'm honest for a 4 star hotel I expected a little more but it was pleasant enough for one night.

easy to get to. Large car park.

Pros: stayed as close to racing and town, great choice
Cons: breakfast was shocking, you had to do everything yourself.. the wait for food to be cooked was so long many people if front of me just gave up.
Location: town at night and racing
first impressions great, clean friendly and space to move. Room large and smelt lovely. The down side you could hear people walking around the corridors' the walls were thin and the young families above running and dancing around were not fun. some sort of sound proofing would be helpful. over all a lovely hotel (except breakfast)

went for relaxing break

Posted 10-Nov-2014
Pros: the room, spa and gym was superb,
Cons: choice of food in the restuarant was poor and portion size was small, wifi needs to be addressed although it was free
Location: Cheltenham was 3 miles so easy to get a taxi to if you didnt want to drive
enjoyed the spa facilitieis and gym, room was clean and tidy, only areas of concern was wifi dropping out very regulary - and we thought the evening restaurant choice wasnt good- ( lamb had too much fat and the cheese board was a plate with 3 cheeses and jacobs crackers). so stay there eat elsewhere

Very pleasant stay.

Pros: The location/accommodation and staff.
Location: Cheltenham is on the doorstep with the usual entertainment (cineworld) and a variety of restaurants.
The room was very comfortable. We had a meal on the first night which was excellent. The gym was bigger and offered more equipment than in a lot of hotels. The swimming pool was big and the water temperature very much to my liking! The surrounding grounds/golf park added to the tranquillity and made our stay even more relaxing.

Eminently suitable

Clean and spacious room with a big bed and a good amount of natural light, when needed. The room was initially very warm, but heating controls were easy to operate. Some of the corridors echo well, and it was a bit odd to pass through a wedding reception in a bar area en route to the gym/pool. Service at the bar and reception was friendly, though more staff at reception may be useful. The hotel is a fair distance from the city centre, but a return on the B bus is £3.50 and a taxi costs approx £7.50 each way.

Do not stay here.

Yes the hotel decor is dated but that isn't the real problem with this massive hotel. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable with scratchy sheets. I specifically asked for a quiet room and we were woken early the next morning by a delivery truck unloading right outside our window. When I mentioned this to the man on reception that morning he just stared at me blankly. We made the awful mistake of ordering room service, a'venison' burger was entirely innedible and missing half the stated ingredients. The ravioli was like lumps of paste. We we will come back to Cheltenham but we will not stay here.
