The property is well maintained and we were greeted with a smile. The room was spacious and overlooking the water. Air conditioning did not work but there was a fan in the room.

Excellent Christmas Hospitality
We stayed over Christmas while visiting family in the area, and while there were very few people at the hotel, the staff still have the same level of great service that we've experienced while staying there in the summer which was really lovely :)

A good address in the Loire valley
Good stay as the hotel is very well located allowing easy access to different beautiful sites in the Loire valley. Obviously it is an old refurbished building that is comfortable and well maintained. Taking several suitcases down from the second floor on our own was the only negative aspect of the stay. Otherwise staff has been very helpful.

All you need.
Clean and comfortable. Great location with river views. Breakfast is basic buffet but plentiful. Room sizes vary. Comfortable beds. Quiet hotel. Would recommend.

Gien hotel
Nice little hotel near the river and handy for the restaurants. I had a suite that was huge and because it was near reception wifi was really good. No lift which is difficult if you have a lot of baggage

I have to start by saying we paid 74 Euros, £65.80 for a double comfort room, so at the cheap end. We stayed here for one night during a very hot July. There was no air conditioning just a desk fan. We were on the third (top) floor and there was no lift. I paid for a room with a river view but the bedroom window did not open fully so limited the view. The shower was good and the room was clean. WiFi was available but unable to view mail. Staff were helpful and friendly and it is about a 5-10 minute walk into the main town where we had a very good Indian. Breakfast was a buffet and there was a good choice, nicely laid out and a pleasant seating area. I probably would not choose to stay here again because of the lack of lift and air con.

Attention : nous avons pris 2 chambres doubles ( nous étions 4 ) et celle du 2eme étage n’avait absolument rien à voir avec la chambre du 3eme ( même prix !) Chambre du 3eme vraiment plus petite et une odeur désagréable (comme du linge qui a mal seché), moquette tachée, sdb vétuste Choisissez une chambre au 2eme, un peu plus moderne, plus grande avec des petits balcons ( même dans la grande salle de bain) et odeur de propre Je ne comprends vraiment pas qu’elles soient au même tarif Petit déjeuner à 13,50€ et taxe de séjour à 18,50€ pour 4 sur 2 nuits En fait tout ceci me semble un peu cher pour Gien ( on n’est pas dans un lieu exceptionnellement touristique non plus !)

A l’arrivée, première impression négative : parking à l’arrière et stores extérieurs donnant une impression de décrépitude. Dommage car c’est la première impression qui donne une idée de ce qui suit. Heureusement, accueil sympa. Petit déjeuner du lendemain parfait. Chambre très bien sauf douche aux joints moisis et moquette tachée. Dommage que ces points laissent un sentiment mitigé. Manque de budget pour l’entretien ???

Nous avions réservé et payé la veille de notre arrivée pour 2 nuits. A l'accueil, le réceptionniste nous a salué et accueilli sans même se lever, a consulté son ordinateur nous a bien indiqué que nous avions déjà réglé mais que nous devions 9 € 20 de taxes dont nous n'avons pas pu avoir d'explications sur l'origine car cette somme ne correspond pas à une taxe de séjour habituelle. Chambre correcte. Très mauvaise surprise le lendemain soir à notre retour vers 22 h .... La chambre n'avait pas été faite. Exactement comme nous l'avions laissée le matin à notre départ. Le lendemain lorsque je l'ai signalé à la réception, la personne à l'accueil m'a dit qu'elle le signalerait à la direction sans autres explications. Qu'en pensez vous ?

Point positif la localisation et la possibilité de charger les voitures électriques, bonne literie. Point négatif, pas de climatisation dans l’hôtel et la peinture des murs de la chambre s’écaille , c’est un peu vieillot . Un petit coup de rénovation ne ferait pas de mal.

Très accueillants. Manque un ascenseur
Nous avons été surpris de ne pas rencontrer personne à l'accueil à l'arrivée. La récéption ne fonctionne qu'à partir de 16h. Mais après 16h, nous avons été réçus avec courtoisie et gentillesse. Le seul problème est qu'il n'y a pas d'ascenseur, et nous voyageons avec une tante de 94 ans. Beaucoup de difficulté pour monter à l'étage des deux chambres que nous avons réservés.

On ne peut demander à une batisse de 150 ans d'etre parfaite, toutefois le confort etait au rdv. Literie tres recente, lits kingsize tres agreable, vue imprenable sur le fleuve, et isolation phonique et thermique appreciable en ce debut fevrier. Tout nest pas parfait, oui, mais vos remarques sont acceuillis par un personnel comprehensif, a l'ecoute et pret a regler un probleme, si probleme il y a. Le petit dejeuner (avec de bons produits frais) est prit dans une salle tres chaleureuse, avec une baie vitree permettant d'apprecier la Loire, et le service effectué dans le respect des gestes barrieres. Tres bon sejour
