“Not quite 5 star treatment”
We arrived at the g and were instantly Impressed. We relaxed in the room got awhile as it wS raining. We got ready to leave to hit Galway at 8 but realised the safe was broken. Called reception to report this. They came to fix it nut were unable to. They offered to put our stuff in another safe but we had a substantial amount of money. He left the room and apologised for inconvenience and said he would upgrade room. Meantime another man came to fix safe. Was unable to and then downgraded to a room half the size. No speakers working in bathroom, tap hanging off, light switches faulty and alarm clock faulty and did not wake us up. No complimentary newspaper either. It was all in all very disappointing ad this was start of honeymoon.
“Perfect!”
The decor of this hotel was some of the best I've seen. They were so nice to upgrade us to a suite for our honeymoon. There was parking underneath for our hire car and it was about 15-20min walk into town. A great hotel and a lovely experience.
“Highly recommend, excellent service and stellar breakfast!”
The staff is so attentive and gave great attention to detail. Breakfasts were beyond exceptional day after day. We were seated in a variety of settings each day for different perspectives and to keep it interesting. The only drawback was the location required taxi into town if we indulged in Guiness or Jamieson during the evenings. The bed was excellent and room clean, really clean!
“Great staff and accomodations; lovely spa”
The staff of the G are lovely and extremely helpful and accommodating. Rooms are great, comfortable beds and well decorated. Spa is fabulous. Only drawback is that it is a 5-10 minute walk from the heart of Galway City, though the upside is that its right next to the Eye Theater, which shows some great films, and has a lively bar scene.
“Vivid colors and memories”
Went to Galway for a weekend get-a-way. Enjoyed every minute of it. The place looked exactly like the pictures and the room was perfect. We had a great time and can't wait to go back
“Funky boudoir”
It was a beautiful hotel very trendy, with friendly staff and it was only a 15 minute walk into the city centre, would recommend it if you visit Galway
“The Fabulous G”
We were on our honeymoon and traveling all over Ireland. The G (in Galway) was by far the BEST hotel that we stayed at! It was very beautiful, contemporary, and had extremely imaginative design and colors. The staff was super attentive, cordial, and very helpful. The three different lounges on the ground floor were breathtaking! We had a wonderful time having breakfast in one of them, have coffee in the afternoon in the second one, and finally, have our evening drinks in the third. I highly recommend the G. It's an unforgettable experience. We hope to return there in the near future. [The only downside is the location--it is in 7-min driving distance from the city center, which is not in walking distance from the hotel.]
“Incredible Luxury and Exceptional Service!”
My husband and I just came back from a 10-day trip to Ireland, and the G Hotel in Galway was our absolute favorite of the five luxury hotels we stayed in. The hotel and its rooms truly look like the pictures on their website. The decor is modern but extremely comfortable, and whereas similar hotels in big cities might have snobby, uppity staff, the people at the G go out of their way to greet you with a smile and make sure you have everything you desire. The room we got was very clean, roomy and quiet. Beds & furniture were comfortable and easy to relax in. The bedding was great because they used a duvet cover on the fluffy comforter (I hate seeing old, dingy quilts that I know haven't been washed in eons!) If you book with breakfast included, you'll be surprised to see the wide variety of quality food they offer. Locally sourced, well prepared, hot & cold choices, with impeccable service, to boot! As for the location, yes, it is a few minutes from town, but we preferred it that way. You're only 5-10 minutes by taxi or car to the center, and that way it's easy to get in and out of Galway City if you're driving. You can park your car for free or pay 10 euros to valet it for your entire stay. We left the car there and took a taxi for about 7 euros... it's fast, you don't have to figure out where you're going, and you save on gas, parking, and headaches. I recommend this hotel to anyone going to Galway. You will feel absolutely pampered by the staff and the hotel amenities!
“It was nice.”
There wasn't anything wrong with the hotel, but it was a little formal for me. It was also a bit out of the way to do things in Galway, since we didn't have a car. The staff was friendly and worked very hard. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was very nice. I probably wouldn't stay there again, but not because it wasn't a nice place, more because I prefer a more chilled and informal atmoshphere.
“We loved this hotel!”
Located minutes away from the heart of the city, The G provides exceptional lodging during your stay in beautiful Galway. It impresses with stylish contemporary flair, yet never feels overbearing; it is always comfortable and you will be attended to by staff who are courteous, friendly and helpful. Don't hesitate to ask them for suggestions for things to do and see. The hotel is inviting enough that you'll want to spend time relaxing at the end of your day in one of their fun and funky lounges. Our room was spacious and quite romantic. We had a lovely view of Galway bay. What a sight to wake up to each morning! We enjoyed our daily walks into town, a breezy ten minute stroll through the charming neighborhood made our stay all the more delightful. In short, we highly recommend this property and would certainly stay there again.
