My husband and I stayed here for four nights. We had a clean triple room, which gave us enough space. The bed was the most comfortable that I slept in on our entire trip. The shower was also the best. There are two comfortable sitting areas in different parts of the house. Deirdre, the hostess, makes a good breakfast and had lots of local information to share. A footbridge over the small river adjacent to the property makes it an easy walk into town. We ate at a different place each night: Breathnach's Bar, Camp Street Café, The Boat Inn, and Powers Thatch Pub. Each was different, but all the food was good. This town is a much better base for exploring Connemara than staying in Galway City. We also were able to visit Cong and do a lot of walking there. If you are interested in fishing (we aren't), the Camillaun Lodge would be perfect since it has access to Lough Corrib and specializes as a fishing lodge.
