I could not check in. I called the number at the window, and it kept going to a busy signal. I knocked. Waited 5 minutes and kept calling, same busy signal. It wasn't fun having to find a different hotel at 10:45PM. I hope I don't get charged.

Interesting property. Seems to cater to hikers in the area. They had a Friday night karaoke event for charities, and it was alternately execrable and excellent (as karaoke often is). Best version of "The Prayer" that Chris and I have ever heard. The owner was quite friendly on check in, and fine during subsequent encounters. Be advised, this is a family operation, and if the family goes to eat in town, your phone calls to the desk will go unanswered. We had an oil stained sheet, on check in, that we wanted to be replaced, and they weren't there. But they fixed it that night. But otherwise, a good place to stay. Overall enjoyed it.

Their website says pets welcome but doesn't state there is an additional fee of $10 dollars per pet per day. The toilet was not secured to the floor. It rocked when sat on. There was no extra toilet paper in the room. Had to ask for it.

I enjoyed the area around the property. As for the staff everyone was pleasant except for the wife she verbally berated me for finding a good deal on their rooms and then put me in the what I believe to be the worst room they had. The sheets were not washed, the plumbing was horrible, and the air conditioner did not work correctly. All in all, this place is not worth staying at.

This hotel needs a lot of work to bring it up to p
Manager was very helpful, very considerate, but this hotel is really long in the tooth. The air conditioner didn’t work old fashion keys, which make locking the door difficult no room coffee pot. Everything was in very tough shape. Surprisingly the bedding was an excellent condition but that was the only redeeming factor.

Other than the fixtures in the shower having no guards and literally just coming out of holes in the walls and the front door not sealing on the bottom (found ants in the room though not many) it wasn't that bad, out of habit i walked around in my socks inside the room and they ended up getting much darker grey due to the floors not really being cleaned. But the beds were soft, got extra pillows with no issue because the ones these places have are thin, ac cooled off the room eventually, and the water was warm. The picture in the add is taken behind a locked door you cant get through, you only can speak with the people who run it through a window.

The room was large, but the power was shut off and room was stagnent. Had to ask for power to be turned on. Lobby was locked and not accessible with out phone call. No coffee pot. Did have very good water pressure.

We didn't detected bed bugs in any of those rooms. We will still have Orkins inspect the room, but replying to your review immediately so if you are carrying from your previous stay you can take proper precautions. Once again, our sincere apologies.

To start the room had ants all round the sink and the house keeping was terrible. We left our room and they didn't come in to take the trash out or put in nee towels my husband had to take it out and ask for new towels. The room was humid even with the air conditioner running and we had to turn it down more just to get cool after being outside in the heat. The best part about the experience is the last at the desk was friendly and very helpful, however they are never actually there and you have to call them to get them to do anything. I was disappointed in the experience and that is the last time I stay there

This is not what I would consider a property that Expedia would even consider being on their website. There was a sign on the door that stated “we are not responsible for any diseases, infection you may catch while on the premises“ the facility looked like it was a crack house. We chose not to stay there, as it looked very unsafe, and the locals stated that, we should not stay there so we chose to go to another location. I tried to call Expedia as we were driving out of the driveway and could not get a representative on the phone and was simply told we would lose our money. I am hoping that the right thing will be done and you will please consider refunding our money.

Thank you for sharing your concerns. It seems like you have a negative imagination of this facility because of few honest details we inform our guests for their safety. This is one of the safest properties in town, and we don't rent locally to keep it that way. We have all non smoking rooms, and we don't allow drugs at all. As far as your refund, we haven't charged you to begin with. Our staff tried explaining you that you weren't charged, but it seemed like you already had other plans and took off. Regardless, we apologize for any misleads from the property's behalf.

Not too bad of a place to stay
The owner was very friendly and made great conversation. Its an older motel, so it wasn't in the best of shape, but you can tell they are working on things around there. The floor, sink, shower and toilet were clean. It was quiet around the area.

this hotel was in renovation so not great but we have stayed in worse. I filled out a survey on our last day around midday and said the door knob needed replaced. After a long day rock hounding we are in bed at 9 PM to watch a movie when management knocks on the door and shoves their phone in our face wanting to know why we complained. Very unprofessional. The price is right but we won't be staying there again.

Dirty, unkept, smelly, waste of money
My wife and I have stayed at Sapphire Inn more than a handful of time while our son was a student at Western Carolina. We had the occasion to visit the area recently. We had a horrible experience. The lobby area happened to be the front foyer of where the family who owns the hotel lives. It’s messy and unclean. The room was horrible. It smelled bad, there was no hot water in the sink or shower. The refrigerator did not cool. And when we finally went to bed, we pulled back the sheets and they really filthy. We called the front desk (From our cell phone because the phone in the room did not work) to report the dirty sheets and eventually they sent someone with fresh sheets. But we had to change them ourselves. At night, there was what sounded like a clogging convention upstairs and we were not able to get much sleep. We left very early the next morning. We will NEVER return to Sapphire Inn ever again.

The air conditioning went on and off And when I brought to the owners attention 30 minutes after I checked in he wouldn’t give a refund. The rate was also much higher and they charged me and I have an ESA animal. NEVER GO HERE. There were cops on the property the entire night. The beds were dirty.

Was disappointed the advertised on-site laundry had been removed. Having no car, I had to walk 0.3 miles each way to laundromat. Shuttles are $1 each way.

We are trying to get it fixed, but the gas company who has to replace the line is extremely busy and short staffed. We hope that it will be fixed in an upcoming week.
