Beautiful view from the room. Walkable with large hills so lots of exercise but far enough away from the hustle and bustle that it’s quiet

Clean, bright and modern, but.....
The room was clean, bright and modern with a comfortable bed. It wasn't without a few problems though. No sockets by the bed and the nearest ones on the TV wall didn't work. The shower head wouldn't remain at the right angle. Biggest problem for us was the lack of a kettle in the room. Access to coffee machine (payment required) in reception was only in the morning, it was all locked up when returning at night. To me, the ability to have a coffee at night is a basic requirement that I expect from any hotel. Potentially a nice hotel, but these minor things let it down

Very nice clean hotel and a huge room. Hotel located in a residential nerhood so it is a very peaceful locaton. The view from the hotel, of the homes, and hills in the snow was lovelly. 5 min drive to the center of the town. On the negative side the breakfast was dissappointing and the hotel looks a little dated. Over all we were very pleased with the hotel and will come back again

Great part of Bamberg with easy walk downtown. Quiet and peaceful. Great view of the Altenburg.

Relatively basic which is reflected in price
Hotel was clean but very basic Rooms ( single ) very basic. Designed for small people. Breakfast at 11 euros was not good value. Staff were friendly and helpful . Hotel located relatively close to Altstadt however on a hill hence walking to and from in the heat was not best. Overall 6/10

Decent hotel close to the old town, but incorrect
The hotel is decent. It's very close to the old town. However, the room I was given was very small and just had a twin bed when it was supposed to be a double bed. I have spent more than a hundred nights in hotels in the past year alone and I have never been given the wrong room. Maybe the receptionist got confused. At least the heater was working and it was nice and cozy.

Worn & torn but solid. Budget hotel.
Solid hotel, friendly staff, family-owned. The house however probably hasn’t been renovated in a while. The wallpaper is coming off, the carpets tell olfactory tales of many a naked foot. The windows don’t insulate well, the house itself is quite noisy with thin walls. The staff didn’t comply with the Corona prevention measures; no one wore masks.

Nice hotel with very friendly staff. Clean and good maintained but there’s some need for renovations. Just a couple minutes to walk to the city.

Great location for car access, yet easy walk to & from Bamberg town centre. Great to have a lift to get to 3rd floor. Slept very well. Reasonably large room, but small bathroom.

The staff are very helpful and pleasant to deal with. The breakfast selection was on par with typical German hotels. The only negative I found was the hardness of the bed - it might be problematic for some.

Nice stay in quaint City of Bamberg
Our room was in a separate building next to the main hotel. The room was small but very comfortable and immaculately clean. Check in was easy and reception was very friendly and helpful. Only drawback was that the room had no hair dryer or coffee making facilities. Hotel is in a residential area but only a 10 to 15 minute walk to the center of town. They offer a very good breakfast buffet and is only €7. Very affordable by European standards. Parking was free as well. Would recommend this hotel.

nice stay in Bamberg
The hotel is not a fancy one, but is very comfortable and the value for money is very good. the room and the public areas are clean and all the staff members are very kind & helpful. The hotel location is a bit far from the center and you need to walk 15 minutes up or down a hill. There is nothing around it as it is located in a residential area, which makes it quite peaceful. if you have a car there is plenty of private parking and the distance is not an issue. the breakfast buffet is very reach and tasty!!!

Fantastic Sleep
My room was clean, comfortable and quiet. I had the best night’s sleep in a week of travelling. I also arrived at 10:30 am hoping to drop off my bags until I could check in later and the hotel was able to check me in right away. It’s important to be aware that this hotel is a bit of a walk to the downtown area, downhill on the way there but uphill on the way back. However, it’s a lovely location situated in a regular neighbourhood.

Hotel Aldenburgblick
Amazing hotel. Clean, comfortable, excellent breakfast every morning and great service. Staff was very friendly and courteous. We already recommended the hotel to several people traveling to Germany next year. We will definitely return!

I have stayed at this hotel prior. Very nice property with good breakfast and good parking. The Brauerei/brewery up the hill has wonderful food and beer.

It was really good stay. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was good. The staff were really helpful. It was a 15 minute walk to the old town and only a 45 minute walk (with suitcases) to the railway station.

Its always a good time in the great city of Bamberg. Everytime I come here, I tend to stay at Altenburgblick. It's a great hotel, friendly staff, and its in a great area. Close to Greifenklau so if you're wanting a beer later at night, just walk up the hill. Beautiful. I don't think it can get any better.

Ok with a grandmothers house charm.
The hotel was ok for the cost. Though I wish the room key was a little more up to date. The hotel had that old grandparent feel to it. But the biggest thing I disliked was the road to the hotel. It seems that part of the road was closed for good reason it was full of mud and potholes and I was scared my car was going to be damaged. Also I couldn't find the pool but may be due to the weird layout.

We found the hotel to be very comfortable, with a good breakfast at a great price and a friendly and helpful staff. The walk to town was a bit far and there was a festival going on while we were there so it was quite noisy until the wee hours of the morning- this is not normally the case - so our timing was unfortunate, but the town was delightful.

Hotel in good location
We chose this hotel because of the location, the free parking and the price. The room was absolutely fine but nothing special and we had a good night's sleep. Breakfast was good but not included in the booking. The hotel staff clearly preferred for people not to book via Expedia and told us that we'd have had our breakfast included had we booked directly with them.

Plenty of parking, great breakfast and within walking distance to all the attractions. The staff speaks good English and they were very helpful and accommodating. The hotel itself is very close to the attractions and can just walk around. The room had good wifi, was comfortable and the elevator helped get the luggage to the room. Also there was plenty of parking. We would absolutly stay there again.

Free breakfast and parking. About a 15 minute walk to town. Room a little tired looking. Could use new carpet. We were on the fourth floor but elevator only went to third. Not a big deal for us but could be for others.

beyond my expectation
My room was on the top floor, from which I can find the great view through the window! I took beautiful pictures at the dusk! Meanwhile, the room inside is comfortable as well. Hotel staff is friendly too. I got small gift token when I checked out. Want to know what it is? You can try a night to stay. BTW, great location to visit the old city area.

I thought the service and breakfast were both excellent. The rooms were well appointed. It was only the fact that it's in suburban Bamberg and is a bit of a walk into the Old Town. (There is a bus not too far away, though.)

Quiet and Convenient
This place is a gem in Bamberg. It's easy to access if you have a car (compared with other hotels closer to tourist sites, where parking was impossible). It's quiet at night, and the staff is friendly and helpful. We walked to great restaurants, and to the Schlenkerla brewery (essential if you're a beer drinker). Oh, and also there's another beer garden just up the hill from the hotel. Ask the staff to direct you--it's literally just a few steps away, but you'd never know it! We spent three nights here and loved it.
