I can't give it a terrible review because they switched my rooms the next day. BUT, the first room had a gas leak. I could smell it, and they switched us to a tiny room that smelled musty and had one tiny window. So we left the door open but all the mosquitoes got in. The property hasn't been maintained so that's why the reviews are not great. It's quite sad, because the outdoor pools "look" nice, but the tiles are coming off. And finally when we got our big room, you can't even keep the doors open. The beds weren't comfortable. For the price we paid, it was "acceptable" so we stayed another night. Breakfast was super basic, and clearly they didn't have many guests. The nicest person was the guy working at the desk. He was lovely. But our first night there was really terrible. The masseuse was amazing. One of the best I've had. I wish I could give her 10 stars. it would be so costly to renovate this hotel, but it has a lot of potential. Even clay courts if you play tennis. But alas, time has passed and it didn't feel luxurious. The coffee in the morning was also terrible - we couldn't drink it. I hate to write such a bad review, but this hotel is definitely not up to American standards. Uncomfortable beds, rooms that smell. Maybe when the hotel is full, it doesn't feel as "sad" but the price was the reason why we stayed. The weather was terrible with strong winds in Ischia so you couldn't go to the beach or pool.

Not really appreciate being charged for towels for the pool when I was able to return them the same day and they try to charge me for 3 days of Pool towels, also charge for water that we requested in our room, it should be complementary.

Wonderful stay. Great pools, very nice design. Quiet romantic location beside wineyards, several nice restaurants in walking distantce. Very friendly service.

FRAUD. FRAUD. FRAUD. THIS IS NOT A 4 star hotel but a 1 star. It was a 4 star back in 1960. The place is suppose to have a shuttle to get around but it was broken. You have to wear a shower cap in the pool at all times. Also, watch out for the metal chicken wire in the drains because it cut my hand. We stayed in Italy for 28 days and this was the worst hotel of them all. Stay somewhere else unless you like to overpay and stay in a dump.

Beautiful ischia
Lovely friendly hotel, good location close to forio but out of the town itself. Good complimentary bus service. Rooms large, with beautiful balcony views; could maybe do with updating a little. All in all a very nice stay

Quiet - very quiet.
Not suitablw for the 18 - 30 crowd. It was blissfully silent out the back of our room with only the occassional bird singing. A pleasant walk to the town using the back entrance got us into Forio, a small lively town full of tourist junk shops with the usual Italian excellence in food and coffee. The hotel is staffed by extremely helpful staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast was a bit basic but good quality. Would certainly return to the Gattopardo (named after a book written by Guisseppi Lampedusa) the next time I visit Ischia.

Bra opphold. Vi ordinær lunsj, lite spennende på menyen. Litt løse fliser i basseng. Godt internett i resepsjon og i bassengområdet. Dårlig inne på rommet. Vi hadde det fint!

Isolato dal mondo, delusione totale.
Salvo solo la gentilezza del personale. Al mio arrivo l’amara sorpresa di scoprire che questo hotel è isolato dal mondo e SENZA la navetta . Per quale motivo pubblicizzare un qualcosa se poi non è vero? Nei pressi dell’albergo raramente passa un autobus, pertanto se non si vuole camminare per strade tortuose almeno 1 km devi investire sul taxi. Stanze molto piccole, mai mi è successo di avere una stanza in cui il televisore ho fatto fatica a posizionarlo, trovando il modo di metterlo su una sedia e distante dal letto. Colazione molto scarsa e per i celiaci ed allergici come me è un bel problema. Peccato perché la struttura merita molto e potrebbe essere sfruttata maggiormente.

Ci siamo trovati molto bene personale disponibile per trasferimenti sia per la spiaggia che per il porto. Struttura con piscine e spa ottimo per chi cerca un soggiorno rilassante. La colazione essenziale poteva essere piu varia.

Sarebbe sufficiente come 3 stelle.
L'impressione è che non prenotando direttamente con loro, si venga dirottati verso le stanze peggiori. Infissi vecchi e mal ridotti, bagno cieco, boiler elettrico, pulizia molto approssimativa. Inoltre: telecomando della tv da richiedere, colazione scarsa, ambiente rumoroso: i camerieri sono tenuti a stare in sala a sorvegliare (non si capisce cosa# e si tengono impegnati a lucidare centinaia di posate, sbattendole da un contenitore all'altro; tutte le mattine! Troppa insistenza nel proporci la pensione completa #eravamo in b&b). La zona relativa alla piscina coperta versa in totale abbandono, sia come manutenzione che come pulizia. La stanza avrebbe dovuto essere una "standard"; se lo standard di un quattro stelle è questo...

L'hotel con le 3 piscina interne e 3 fuori è molto bello, ma l'acqua non viene controllata regolarmente. Inoltre la spiaggia e scomodissimo soprattutto chi ha problemi di fare le scale! Abbiamo prenotato con expedia soltanto la colazione, quindi volevamo fare la cena al rist. dell'albergo, ma visto il prezzo, abbiamo rinunciato. A pochi metri dall'albergo c'è una nuova pizzeria JAMM JA' che si mangia da dio con ottimi prezzi, condotta da una famiglia simpaticissima, veramente da consigliare. Le cure termali ed il trattamento era perfetto con personale molto gentile e professionale. Da notare che in quest'albergo ci sono soprattutto clientela germanica e pochi italiani, sconsigliato per i bambini piccoli , ma il massimo per gli anziani che non hanno voglia di girare in quanto ci sono lettini ed ombrelloni attorno le piscine e sul terrazzo.

Poor customer service at breakfast
+We got a sea view room, so view was veeeery nice. Also the pools were very nice. -Customer service in breakfast room was rude and poor. In the first morning the breakfast room was empty so we picked a small table near window. In few minutes old waiter came to yell at us. He was rude and yelled that we have to take the same number table that our room number is. How could we know that?!? Nobody was in the room telling us that when we came. After the yelling we have to change table and take all our plates with us. We got the worst table in the room right next to fridge. And again room was empty. Not the behaviour you expect to have in an hotel which calls itself 4 star hotel. Next mornings we noticed that only customers with "the whole paccage - breakfast, lunch and dinner" got good service. We with "only" breakfast got nothing.

Splendido panorama!
Ottimi i servizi della beauty farm: Patrizia e Marta sono bravissime! Peccato per la qualità della cucina: pasti cucinati male...potrebbero diminuire la scelta ma cucinare meglio. Camera pulita ed il personale è sempre gentile e disponibile. Bellissima la spiaggia di Cava dell'Isola.

Solo per chi vuole fare due passi per la spiaggia
Hotel da 4 stelle è decisamente troppo, è più un 3 stelle. Camere piccole e, se vicine alla piscina, non silenziose. Colazione appena sufficiente. Staff molto cortese e pronto a soddisfare le varie richieste. Posizione ottima per raggiungere la spiaggia.
