The "Other" Resort on Little Torch Key

Posted 16-Dec-2014
Everyone knows about The "Island" resort out of Little Torch Key but fewer have heard of this lovely little place just to the north that offers many of the same NATURAL features as the more expensive Island property -- for example you have the same beautiful water view on your own Calypso chairs and hammocks; the same lovely water breezes and temperature and the same magnificent sunrise each morning! Granted the facilities are a tad older and what I like to refer as reflective of the "OLD FLORIDA: I knew about in the Keys in the 50'S aAnd 60'S --and certainly more affordable than the "Island" -- just a mile or so away. I would affectionately call this place the average man's island --except its not on an island and you can still launch your private boat from their docket area. There's plenty of space to wander around in and its very quiet ---the units are few and you can drive right to your little cabin. The staff is enthusiastic and genuine---they will give you a personal tour around the place in the golf cart. If you are looking cor quiet, clean, friendly, but not Ritzy, but traditional Old Florida experience this is the place for you. E

Super hotel super staff!

A lovely hotel set out well in a beautiful location. Near enough to key west and also the quieter nature reserves. A lot of thought has gone into the needs of the guests and the continental breakfast was a nice surprise. Very friendly and helpful staff you cannot fault the cleanliness of the grounds. We booked a twin room which was very very small that is why I have marked down slightly but there are larger rooms with kitchen and seating area at extra cost. All in all a very relaxing break.

Wir waren nur eine Nacht dort. Die Lage ist sehr gut und ruhig und es liegt direkt am Wasser. Unser Zimmer war sehr klein aber alles war sehr sauber und das Personal war extrem nett.

Beautiful location off the beaten path.

Great location, could have partnered up with resturant in walking distance instead of the gross food at boondocks. Quiet time of year and had place to ourselves it seemed like.

Quiet and clean accommodation

Posted 23-Nov-2014
Pros: The cleanliness of the rooms and the quietness to sit and totally relax by the water.
Location: Bahia Honda State Park Walking, cycling the "old" 7-mile bridge Blue Hole Nature Center Kayaking, fishing
Parmer's Resort was located 45 mins from Key West and just what we were looking for. We were greeted warmly and shown to our room immediately. Our twin-bedded room was exceptionally clean, two pillows each and the bathroom was also, plenty of towels. The A/C was on and it was very comfortable. Ceiling fan also if we needed it. TV, but we never used it. Chairs located outside our room on the deck. The grounds of the resort were very tidy-signs of freshening up and final prep for the Florida season were evident. Colorful Arondack chairs were strategically located near the water's edge and also several hammocks which we all enjoyed. We did not use the pool but it did look inviting and were told it was kept at 85 degrees. Pool towels were available at the front desk as was a hairdryer if needed. We enjoyed the continental breakfast: choice of sliced pineapple, oranges, grapefruit, melon plus fresh orange juice. Several choices of cereal, donuts, muffins and bread to toast, packaged preserves and the coffee was excellent. What impressed me was that serving bowls were topped up immediately-so late comers still had a good selection. We were appreciative of the mandatory quiet time-10PM onwards. We went to Key West and were back at Boondocks for dinner (5 mins from resort) and some pleasant country western music. All in all, a great choice and a good experience.

By far the Best Place we Stayed!

Posted 23-Nov-2014
Pros: Pretty much everything.
Location: Quiet place along the water.
Oh that all hotels could be run like this one!!! Has to be the cleanest room we've encountered. And the view - it's right along the water, with hammocks and beach chairs set out to watch the sunrise. Staff are amazing - two people on duty for the breakfast and lots of rubbish bins so everything stays clean and appetizing. Lots of it too. We could easily have spent the rest of our vacation at this place, but alas, we needed to move on. We will definitely be back.
