Well priced hotel for exploring Tikal, Flores and
Hotel is well priced and conveniently located for exploring Peten and getting to Tikal. Pretty good location if you are travelling onwards as good connections to Belize, Guatemala city, etc. too. Room is of a decent standard and has good a/c, tv and plenty of power points. No hot water or plug on the sink so having a shave was a bit of a challenge but other than that met all expectations. No fridge and no safe (in room) available for anything either but hotel did feel fairly secure. Well priced hotel for the area and if we were to visit the area again would likely stay here again.

Exceeded my expectations
Very clean room. The AC worked great. Very close to the island and to the mall. Great pool view. The service needs to improve, they lack amiability, even though it was better than expected.

Our stay was enjoyable!!
We really enjoyed our stay at Quinta Maya. Staff were extremely friendly and English speaking. They went out of their way to assist including an upgrade to our room. The food in their restaurant was totally amazing. We had no desire to go elsewhere after our 4 day stay. The laundry service was helpful and location was good, close to a bank, travel agent and entrance to Flores. There was a fruit market close as well and not far from Mall. In the morning, there was an orange juice stand with freshly squeezed orange juice, exceptionally good.

average hotel at a decent price
The location is ok and probaby less noisy than a finer hotel in the nearby island of Flores. The hotel itself is still in construction so it can become somewhat uncomfortable. WIFI didn´t seem to work apppropriately. But for the price, the hotel overall is fine.

Great hotel, even better location.
I loved the location of the hotel. It was closed to everything. Best spot to stay. The service at the hotel was great too. It was clean and comfortable and the free breakfast was great. I'll definitely stay there again.

Okay budget hotel
Our room didn't look anything like the photos in the listing. Room was okay, though a bit tight. Closet was open shelving, no door. Bathroom was roomy. Staff was nice and helpful, though wouldn't deal with someone smoking in the covered eating area. Ugh. Desk staff arranged our trip to Tikal, which was wonderful.

Far from everything.
I was staying two nights at the hotel, by the day there was this really nice and helpful receptionist, always on good mood and with a nice disposition to help me out, but I had a really awful experience by night, went to have dinner and some drinks by 8PM and came back by 11PM, to my surprise the doors were closed and can't get in until 11:40 PM after trying to get somebody by the intercommunicator, by phone and screaming from outside the hotel. For my luck one of the guest heard my screams trying to get somebody's response then he go and find the security guy who was sleeping inside the hotel. He opens the door trying to give some explanations that I don't even want to hear.

Good basic hotel
It's an excellent option if you are a traveler with backpack and you are just going to use the hotel to sleep it's excellent, but the hotel don't have activities. The people of the front desk were very kind with us. And the hotel is like 3 km to the Flores island

The object of our stay was to go to Tikal. It is fairly close in the beauty of Tikal outweighs the hotel limitations. The photos on Expedia are deceiving

Acceptable hotel
This is my second time to this hotel. The last time I stayed I felt the value was good; this time I paid a little more, and I would say the value is just ok. The reception staff are great; the "restaurant" so-so. On both trips the restaurant was out of certain things. The included breakfast was skimpy a coffee was free but no juice, not even for my young son. He orded bacon addsd on to his meal and we were charged USD$2 for one piece of bacon that was half raw and half burnt. The rooms are very simple but clean. The air conditioner took about 8 hours to get to the tiny room to a temperature we could sleep in. There is no hot water, but you don't really need it in that heat. The wifi was very spotty; it really only worked best for me in the lobby, not at all in my room. The location is ok. It is a quick walk across the bridge in a tuc-tuc to Flores. The walk feels just mildly creepy, in part becuase of cars racing past, but also just because of a sense that something. The hotel is in a very commercial district, and you can expect a lot of street noise - blaring music, cars, etc. that is Guatemala, however! The rooms are also a little removed from the noise, and the air conditioner drowns out a lot of it. Most of the noise echoes in from loud groups of guests in the pool area or hallways, something that was an issue on both of my stays.

Really good friendly hotel
Nice older style hotel set in the middle of town.Rooms on 2 levels face internally onto a wide balcony with lots of big comfy sofas overlooking a delightful central area with trees and vegetation. External balconies are enclosed reducing noise. Clean comfortable rooms (in process of upgrading while I was there) with aircon and en suite. Good wifi. Super friendly staff (English spoken). Nice little pool at back through bar and dinning area. Good breakfast with evening meals available, but not trying to compete with the numerous international fusion restaurants down on Isla de Flores.

Adequate
Our room was clean and comfortable, but dark because an open air deck had been walled in and the only windows were 2 fairly small round windows at ceiling height. The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful and spoke fluent English, but there was confusion about what was included in the continental breakfast resulting in our not being properly served and overcharged the first day.

Could be better. .
Hotel was uncomfortable.. felt like a prison of sorts. This was our last hotel in Guatemala and by far the worst. The clean towels appeared dirty and the water in the shower would start out hot then immediately get cold. I'm sure there are other hotels in the area that would be a better option for the price point.

Hotels.com needs to get their act together!
Enjoyed the hotel. Clean, good location, frendly service, nice layout. Only problem I had was with the difference in price as listed by Hotels.com. Listed price was $29/night (single room). Total with taxes and fees per Hotels. com ~ $34.15/night. Amount at requested at check-in $43.71/night! After much discussion in broken Spanish, hotel agreed to $37/ night ($29/ + standard 22% tax?) Had to show my booking info from the app site to get that. And they were not happy with Hotels.com. First, while this wasn't a huge deal, the extra added up because I was staying multiple nights. I went back and checked the advertised deal on Hotels.com and noted that the offer said "free breakfast" numerous places. When you click on the "fine print", Hotels. com says the hotel may charge a ~ $4.15 breakfast fee. Then why the heck does Hotels. com let them advertise "FREE BREAKFAST"??? Not sure if this was the basis of the problem, but come on, sites like this are supposed to make travel a little easier, not push us into negotiatons with the hotels concerned. Again, in the end, I still enjoyed my stay and would recommend the hotel to others!

Amazing,welcoming staff
I have been to Guatemala many times, and have a general idea of what to expect. This hotel was very nice for a moderately priced hotel in Guatemala. The lobby and pool area were clean and welcoming. The rooms were simple but clean. There wasn't any hot water, but who needs that when its 100 out? What stood out the most was how helpful the staff was. They helped me fond a great tour to Tikal and went out of there way to ensure that I got breakfast before leaving. They also helped me resolve issues with my return flight to Guate. The only negative thing I have to say is that the structure of the hotel, ie the large central court in the middle that is typical of Spanish architecture, meant that it was very loud. There was a large group of students socializing who kept me up late, and then woke me up early. It was a pain, but I cant really blame the hotel for that, and that is a pretty typical experience in Guatemala.

Enjoyable short stay
I arrived in the evening around 8:30pm starving. The guy at reception was very helpful and friendly. He spoke no English, I don't speak Spanish but after a bit of sign language and lots of laughter I was settled in my room and directed to a nearby restaurant for dinner.

Great Value
I arrived at 5:30 am and the staff could not find my reservation. However, they still put me in a room (way before check-in time) and agreed to sort out the details in the morning. The staff was very helpful with booking a bus to Belize City. The San Juan bus station is right up the road and the Linea Dorada station is about 5 blocks away, a taxi ride costs less than $1. The restaurant in the hotel only serves breakfast and dinner, they are reasonably priced, but I would suggest walking around the neighborhood for food.

Very good for he price
While this hotel is just outside Flores, it is conveniently located to two bus station, for example for busses going to Belize. You have to walk over the small bridge to get to Flores, where the third bus stop is located. Hotel looks very simple from outside but is very cozy inside with a good court yard where you have good Guatemalan breakfasts. The staff is very helpful, speak a decent English, helps with busses, tours ets. Very good for a night stay to catch tour to Tikal or Yaxha. Quality is very good for the price,

Great Hotel for less than 50 bucks a night
Great hotel for the price and we would stay there again. It included a light breakfast and it's only a mile to Isla Flores, which was a great place to hang-out. The hotel staff helped book a couple of side trips and everything went smoothly.
