CANNOT DIRECT GO TO THE HOTEL & POOR SERVICE

Posted 28-Oct-2013 on Hotels.com
It don't have the receiption for this hotel. You have reported to the other hotel then someone take you to there. It is a long way to long to there if you need to carry your luggages. It is very noisy since it had the restaurant in downstair. No customer servie at all for this hotel. Not even willing to answer your question. It takes a long long time for them to prepare for the payment. It charges you for the higher price for the breakfast if your package not included . No discount even you live in this hotel. Poor management. Elevator can only allow 2 -3 people to go in , if you had luggages make sure to go one by one.

Optimal Location - Comfortable, Clean Room

Posted 21-Oct-2013
We stayed at Residence La Repubblica late September, 2013. Check-in was a bit odd, since it requires walking to another hotel, around the corner. Once we were in our room (which was overlooking Piazza della Signoria), everything was great. It's clear that the room was renovated within the past few years. The TV was small (which didn't bother us), but the air conditioning worked perfectly, and the room was equipped with a kitchenette, a decent-sized bathroom, and plenty of space. We would definitely stay here again.

Cool Kitchette in the centre of town

An interestingly configured hotel, in that the reception is off site, in a different building,a hotel named De Lanzi.Perhaps a bit off putting, once you ring the bell at the door, reception immediately sends the rep, who escorts you to the De Lanzi, and the rest is quite straightforward. A generous room, with a balcony( in my case) overlooking the Piazza Repubblica. Seriously. Makes one feel they should prepare to address the subjects.... Obviously, I enjoyed Residence La Repubblica , and could see this hotel gaining strength with each passing day, the kitchenette mediating the pricey offerings of Florence, or, just enjoying dining with the beautiful wooden salon doors open, and checking the kingdom out ! Only one snag, the WiFi is offered in a 4 hour on- off for €5, or 24 continuos hrs for €13 , if I remember correctly. Anyway,I had difficulty logging off, and requested assistance from reception. The next day, I was informed there was no record of me getting assistance, and my 45 min. internet session was logged as 4 hr. straight.Frustrating...Until, a gentleman with whom I delt with the previous night, Fabio, got on the case. He did remember me calling, and to put things right, logging me onto the 24 hr service.to me, that is customer service. I will stay again, at the Residence Repubblica

location and comfort!

Posted 06-Oct-2013
Pros: Location, size, cleaniness and hotel staff service
Cons: A reception at the apartment and not at another hotel
Location: plenty of restaurants around. very near most attractions.
The location is just too great! 10 mins walk to SMM train station and 5 mins walk to duomo, shopping streets and most attractions. I was lucky too as I was upgraded from the one bed room apartment to 2 bed room apartment. Will highly recommend and will go back for sure.

Basic room in good location.

Posted 04-Sep-2013
Pros: Location.
Cons: Having to check in and leave bags in a different location was a bit inconvenient, but not terrible. It was also a little noisy in the mornings.
Location: Easy walk to most museums in Florence.
The room is somewhere between a hotel room and an apartment. It is located right on the Piazza Repubblica, which is close to most major spots. There is a small kitchen hidden in a large dresser and a small table, but otherwise basically a hotel room without any hotel amenities like a gym or an on-site desk. The check in is at a hotel a short walk away. The biggest complaint is that in the morning when other guests are coming and going it can be a bit noisy, but street noise was not a problem.

Poor customer service

Posted 03-Apr-2013 on Hotels.com
Check in took 30 minutes at a different location than apt. A man walked us to the apartment and showed us the facilitites. Heater was not working, we froze all night (were traveling with a baby). Called front desk and they were able to turn it on remotely. 2nd night, same problem no heat. They finally turned it on 2 hours later. They didnt say.... But I believe the hotel shuts off all heat or air when they want without regard to the guest. Then was woken up at night to re-do the check in info??? Good location, poor customer service.

Central location for Florence visit

Posted 04-May-2011
The best thing about this place is the location: not too far from just about anywhere. Close to restaurants, pharmacy, bars, shopping, markets, museums. And there's a pretty antique carousel out front. The square was pretty lively into the night hours; so if you're looking for somewhere really quiet or away from it all this is not it. But if you like to be in the midst of things, then stay here. The apartment itself was clean and comfortable, nothing fancy. The kitchenette was convenient. The elevator in the building is quite tiny - claustrophics beware. Good closet space in the wardrobes. Nice tall ceilings.

Good Location

Great location but the hotel had some quirks: 1. You have to check in a few blocks away from the unit. Thus, we made no use of concierge service. 2. You needed to get through four controlled entries to get into your room. This made it difficult for other family members to go out without the key. 3. The safe did not work. When we locked our camera, laptop, etc. in the safe in the afternoon, it would not open that evening. When requesting assistance from the front desk, they could not provide any service to open the safe until the next morning. This prevented the use of our laptops and cameras for over 12 hours. 4. Some crank caller kept calling our room several times - we notified the front desk for assistance. The calls continued and we finally had to unhook the phone. 5. Cleanliness could have been better.
