Excellent place to spend a few nights. Safe and secure, clean and a nice breakfast. Samantha was an excellent receptionist, very helpful and friendly. Was patient to answer all our questions and book us reservations for a couple museums. Right in the heart of the city close to train 10 minutes away. Lots of shops around and restaurants, everything you need.

Excellent economy hotel in the heart of Florence, easy walking distance to the major tourist attractions and to the train station. As the hotel clearly advertises, it is located on the second floor and there is no elevator. The European definition of second floor is what we would call the third floor in North America. Be prepared for lots of stairs, four flights with 46 steps total! The room was adequate and equipped with a small bar fridge and kettle. However, the bathroom was very small and you could definitely hear people in the adjacent rooms. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

Nice, clean hotel but no elevators so if you have big heavy luggages it will be a challenge. The hotel is at the third floor of the building. Room is also not sound proofed, we can hear conversations coming from the outside. Otherwise, comfortable and walkable to Duomo and train/bus stations.

We had an amazing experience at Hotel Camilla. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Our room was exceptionally clean and modern. Only issue was inability to sleep at night due to the loud people noise from the restaurant on the main floor that sometimes continued until 230am. If you are a sound sleeper this is definitely the place for you! Very close to walk to tourist spots and about 10 minute walk from the main train station.

Lovely central hotel
A lovely hotel which is so central. Lots of restaurants close by and only a 10 minute walk to the train station. The staff were all so friendly and lovely. Anything we needed help with, they couldn’t have done more. Breakfast was lovely. One day we were leaving very early to go on a trip and they let us go into the kitchen and take what we wanted so we wouldn’t be hungry. Only downside to this hotel is the flights of stairs but we knew that before we booked. Would definitely recommend. Thank you so much for a lovely stay.

Terrible service, dirty room
Due to a delayed bus we did not arrive until late in the evening. Although someone was there to let us in (we had to buzz in from the street), we had to climb a couple of floors before finding the right one. The man at the desk told us the room was only for 1 person and that we would need to pay an additional 55 Euros per night. We showed our confirmation of the booking on Hotels.com and it did not make a difference. The next morning we spoke to the manager who said the same thing. We were given one towel and there were ashes on the table and bugs in the shower. There was barely enough room to squeeze between the bed and the desk. We left after one night even though it was too late to get our money back for the second night.

Steve, all our staff was so surprised after reading your review. Your reservation was for one person only and when you arrived you were two people. Everywhere, in every hotel all over the world, if there is an extra guest, has to pay an extra fee. First of all, you didn't pay 55 euros but 45 because you sayed you won't have breakfast. The next morning tho, we let you have breakfast anyway, telling you it was on the house. Did you forget that?You were given only one towel because the room was prepared for just one person, since the reservation you first made was for one guest only. We would've give you another towel if you'd only ask, but you left your room, and let's be honest, it was not because the room was dirty or because you had to pay an additional fee, but because you've changed your plans and wanted to go visit another city, but you realised it was too late to cancel the reservation. We have a professional company that deals with the cleaning and the sanification of the rooms, plus, the staff itself personally check each room before the arrival, and there weren't any ashes or bugs. As for the dimension of the room, you booked the smallest one we have and anyway the room size is well specified on our websites, so you should've already know everything before making the reservation. Same thing for the fact we don't have an elevator. Our property is located in a historical building from 1500 in the centre of Florence, and that was written too on all our websites. The only thing you should have done is read the terms, conditions and details of the property before booking, which is something we can't do for you.Also, before leaving you stored your luggage here at the ront desk until late afternoon. You left without leaving the key of the room and when i asked you if you had it you replied in avery rude way saying you didn’t had the key, when you actually had it in your bag. We all are people who work very hard to make our guest’s stays unforgettable. It’s just sad to see someone really can’t see that and only try invent negative aspects just because they didn’t get what they wanted, which is unfair and rude in any case.We wish you a nice day. Nice room but a bit warm
Overall we had a pretty good stay. There is no elevator and it is up 2 stories with 4 rather long flights of stairs but we did ok with that. On the downside the WiFi did not work in the room but was great in the lobby and the breakfast area The air conditioner in our room (despite putting it on the lowest setting of cool with the highest fan) was not able to cool the room enough to get a comfortable nights sleep Cool air was coming out slowly but the room was just very slow to cool and only got to about 25 degrees Celsius (77 F) after running the unit continuously all day which was better than outside but still a bit warm. Also the ac was very dirty and very much needed a cleaning. On the positive side, the location was great and the room was very nicely renovated - would definitely consider staying again (just not in the hotter summer months due to the ac difficulties.

The stay at the Camilla was good because the staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a good variety and was all we needed. The beds were very uncomfortable and the climb up the stairs to get to the hotel were tough after a long day of travelling.

Small, modest hotel, but very good value. Rooms were simple, but comfortable and quiet. Bathroom was very nice. Lovely breakfast included. Near market, so immediate surroundings a little dingy. But, easy walking distance to train station. Staff were very personable and helpful. Entrance to hotel is two flights up, so challenging for people with heavy suitcases.

Lovely small hotel. People that work there are fabulous. Efficient, friendly and willing to help with any needs. They made dinner reservations for us each day with made things much smoother. Delicious breakfast and friendly staff
This hotel is in a very central location in Florence, about a 10-15 minute walk from the train station. As the hotel and other reviews indicate, this hotel is on the 3rd floor and only has stairs, but since we were prepared, it was no problem at all. The staff are very nice and welcoming and the free breakfast every morning is top notch! My only piece of advice is to pay attention to the size of the room you are booking, I think we booked the smallest room for 2 people and it was so small you were not able to walk around the bed. We are also both on the taller side (5 feet 7 inches and 6 feet) and our feet hung off the bed. I think most rooms are a bigger, more livable size, but staying here for 3 nights in the small room was tough for us.

This hotel was nice and in an excellent spot!! A bit hard to find! The hotel itself shares a building with apartments so you have to be buzzed in and really know what you’re looking for! No elevator (which was fine for us) but just an FYI- lots of stairs for those who will have heavy luggage.

The Hotel Camilla is in an excellent location to visit the centre of Florence. The tram to the airport is only a short walk away. There are also plenty of places to eat within a short walk. The hotel is on the second floor of the building and there isn't a lift, so be prepared to climb 4 flights of stairs. Our room was a good size with a large walk-in shower in the ensuite. The room had coffee making facilities, but the cups that are provided are small paper ones and there was no milk. This wasn't a problem as there is a small supermarket at the end of the street and a fridge to keep drinks and milk in. The breakfast was fairly basic but there was plenty of it and the quality was good. The staff were excellent and very polite.

The overall experience at Hotel Camilla was very nice. The staff was super friendly and very helpful and also always available to help. The only couple of negatives is that we struggled to get the setting correct with the air conditioning and for the most part our two rooms were always humid and hot. Also having no elevator was very tough especially carrying all the luggages. Was very difficult to deal with that. Thanks

Dear Angelo,We solved the problem with the air conditioner as soon as you brought it to our attention.We have specified that our property does not have an elevator, as it is under construction: we are sorry that you did not notice at the time of booking.We have satisfied you when you asked us to have the two rooms close and when you asked us help with the air conditioner.We regret that you are not fully satisfied.We hope to host you again in the future.
