Quality hotel, Friendly staff.

Posted 25-Nov-2014
Pros: Spacious rooms. Pleasant staff. Free wine on arrival a real treat.
Location: Only 30 minutes from Beaulieu for a superb day out.
Was expecting basic, no frills hotel. Pleasantly surprised with a glass of wine each on arrival . Spacious, comfortable and clean room. Very pleasant staff, who always served with a smile in reception, bar and restaurant. Unfortunately too busy to try spa and sauna.

well presented hotel

Posted 05-Oct-2014
Pros: Comfortable bed, room a good size.
Cons: Cleanliness
We had a very pleasant room, overlooking the small garden. Free glass of wine on arrival was welcome. Lots of young children staying in the hotel so quiet at night, but busier in the early morning. Bathroom needed slightly closer attention from the cleaners (a part-used bottle of shampoo left over the bath and cobwebs over the mirror) but everything else was clean.

Lovely Friendly Hotel near Portsmouth

Posted 29-Sep-2014
Pros: Friendly staff, the little touches like free parking, the dinner tasters during the late afternoon and the complimentary glass of wine with dinner.
Cons: Some element of free wifi would have been appreciated, even if just an hour a day or less.
Location: Location is great for Fareham and Portsmouth - only five minutes away from HMS Collingwood by car.
Lovely friendly hotel, rooms were large, spotlessly clean and modern. Air con, tea and coffee, large flat screen TV. All the staff were very friendly, food was delicious. We only stayed for one night as we were attending our son's Graduation at HMS Collingwood the next morning. We had dinner in the restaurant, the food was fabulous, great choice of menu, it was timley not rushed and the complimentary glass of wine was a plus. Breakfast the next morning was buffet style, very relaxed, wide range of food hot cold continental and full English if required. Limitless coffee and tea. It was also included in the room price.

Pros: Clean, modern and spacious.
Cons: I can't think of anything
Location: We only went for Southampton University open day but there seemed to be other things to do. We managed a visit to Marwell Wildlife which was lovely.
Could not fault anything about this hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious. The hotel was immaculate and very modern. Lovely open areas indoors with a lovely secluded courtyard with tables and chairs outside. We also used the swimming pool which again was very clean and well kept. Staff very helpful. No complaints whatsoever which is unusual for me!

Good hotel to stay for a few days

The health centre and the swimming pool are wonderful. We booked a room for 3 persons and the single bed for my 13 years' old son is too small.

A very clean welcoming hotel

Pros: An open aspect to the reception / bar area. Staff providing complementary drinks on arrival.
Cons: Did not see lift to upper floor?.
Location: Portsmouth harbour is a must visit, although pricing to see naval museums is high.
One night only, but would happily return. Staff friendly , and helpful.

Hotel a Bit Tired

Posted 14-Jul-2014
Pros: It was in a good location with adequate parking. Despite being adjacent to a busy roundabout and the A27, there was no road noise.
Cons: Stop noisy children running around the corridors at night. Think they were part of the wedding parties!
Location: There is plenty of things to do in Portsmouth, Southampton and the New Forest. There are leaflets by reception for all the sights and attractions.
Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights last week during a house move. Think it is due a refurbishment! The room was a bit tired, the hot tap for the sink dripped all the time, you couldn't turn it off and the bath hot tap didn't produce any water, hot or cold!, to fill the bath we resorted to using the shower! Also the bed was made with the quilt at the bottom of the quilt cover and tucked in under the mattress. When you got into bed, the quilt cover had about 12 inches of empty cover at the top, the top of the quilt needed to be pulled up into the top of the cover. After the first night, I took quilt and cover off and sorted it out, but noticed that when the bed was made, the bottom sheet wasn't pulled out to make it smooth, it was just covered up and left, which would have been uncomfortable. Also the mattress was uncomfortable, think the bed was only 4' 6" or it was so warn out that you rolled into the middle all the time. We only had breakfast one morning, it was a special price. Would have been upset if we had paid the full price as it was disappointing. We ate at about 0830 and think it was all cooked for the 0700 start of breakfast, so it was a bit dried up.

close to Portsmouth

Posted 27-May-2014
Pros: Nice Lobby and the Hotel smelt nice through the corridors, Staff were very helpful.
Location: Mostly Portsmouth with its Dockyard facilities, and there was a nice shopping mall
Very friendly staff and nice room. We were greeted on arrival with a glass of wine and given chocolate when we left. Food in Hotel was reasonably priced and nice You could drive to the Park and Ride bus service which was not far away from Hotel which took you into the Hard at Portsmouth.
