The owner was delightful. We arrived late due to a flight delay and since our Uber driver left for another fare she gave us a ride to our room, which was a half mile away at a separate property. Also the breakfast was fabulous with many homemade items. The property was clean and comfortable.
The room was on the second floor. There was dog poop on the carpet on the stairs. When you walked in the room it reeked of dogs. The linens had stains on them. The picture is not what the houses that are actually Abbey Archway Inn.

I think everything is fine, but one day at 6am a person knocked on the door very loudly, he woke us up to ask my name and when we were to check in. They're supposed to have record books, I disapprove of that.

I was sick when I arrived and the room was in terrible condition. I should get some kind of refund. There were dirty socks under the bed and 2ins. of dust. The vents had dust in them. Enclosed are a few pictures with problems I saw. Mostly dust where things weren't cleaned.

I am sorry we did not meet your expectations. I had housekeeping revisit the room vents today.
I was disappointed in the condition of the property and the room needing cleaning such as the floors and fan. Some things in the room didn't work. TV was confusing to operate.

I am sorry you did not like the property; perhaps the car(s) actually belonged to guests, as many local people have older cars, and there is a lot of wear on vehicles that they may not tend to immediately.
Terrible experience overall. My reservation was for a particular building but manager sent me to a different building about 0.5 miles away and was unapologetic about this. Room's window was open with no screen and abundant mosquitoes in the room. The trash can in the bathroom still had trash from the prior occupants.
As frequent visitors to Fairbanks we will not choose to stay at Abbey Archway, Seven Gables or Fairbanks extended stay in the future. All three run by same people. We made the choice to stay in Abbey Archway. We were given rooms in Fairbanks Extended Stay the place we did not choose because of its location. Instead of a quiet residential street we were next to a major city road. One of the rooms had a stale smoky smell and was quite unclean, the other very noisy during the night.
That the room style chosen when making the booking was why we had to stay in a completely different location defies understanding. We made a room style choice on the site for Abbey Archway. A guest shouldn’t be put at a different location than the one they chose after careful research just because the owner chooses.
It all felt deceptive. I took notice of the negative reviews and yet still went ahead with the booking believing in giving a fair chance. That was a mistake
Dingy and dark property. The jacuzzi tub was full of dirt and the fireplace did not work.

Not sure where you stayed, but hope that if there is an issue, guests call the office to let us know of any problem or concern they have. I'm sorry for poor housekeeping and maintenance issue.
We were more than impressed with the rooms, service, and breakfast at this inn. It’s sort of a bed and breakfast style for a reasonable price. A+++

Room not ready at checking time. Employee overworked & a little short in tone of voice. On 3rd floor required multiple trip up & down alot of steps.

I do apologize for the delay at check-in. We are indeed short-staffed and it is difficult to keep up. There are multiple stairs, depending upon what's available at check in. We do try to accommodate those with mobility needs if requested. I'm not sure what bed type you were expecting--most of our beds are queen sized.
The property is in the process of being renovated. The units are like studio apartments.

Currently none of our properties are being renovated. There is a new building next door that had stucco applied this summer; this may have caused the confusion. We do offer two room types--studios and suites as advertized.
Definitely more of a bed and breakfast at a hotel, I will definitely stay here again as I prefer the mom and Pop style places. This is definitely privately owned they make awesome breakfast the house is a little bit dated but definitely a clean well priced place to sleep

Because this is an anonymous review, I do not know who I am communicating with. However, the general procedure is to contact Expedia so they can refund you. Expedia "masks" your credit card and provides their corporate card to the hotel, you will need to contact them to request the second night be refunded. I have only charged the masked Expedia card for the one night as requested.
I would not recommend anybody who wants a safe night sleep at this hotel when we left to Chena hot Springs and came back our room was unlocked when we double checked that it was locked or window was broken with no lock things were stolen breakfast was barely edible horrible experience

I am so sorry for this bad experience; I regret that your upstairs neighbors were unruly . When you called to tell us that your window was unsecured, we did respond to help. We do limit our breakfast hours to a brief amount of time so that things are not left out too long.
Friendly staff. Room was a bit dated but definitely a great place to rest your head while in Fairbanks. I would recommend for anyone doing an extended stay that don’t want to break the bank.

I liked how rustic it is and how close it is to several places, what I didn't like was that I stayed 5 days and they never cleaned the bedroom or the bathroom, I think that cleanliness is the most important thing, especially in the bathroom, the very dirty curtains could be changed more often
