Despite initial skepticism, renting at this location exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed my stay, it is a bit isolated but this makes it great for anyone traveling to Iceland, especially during the Aurora months. I highly recommend this hotel for the price, the rooms will surprise you at this price.

This was our favorite hotel out of the 10 hotels we stayed in. The cabin was adorable. This was the inly hotel we slept in and hung out in the living room drinking tea. The reception was kind enough to show us yo the cabin and let us know when and where we could see the Northern Lights and we most assuredly did.

We stay at this hotel because there was a wind storm on Iceland but the staff was very nice and help my friend with their room also. The bed was comfortable. We stay only for one night!

Lovely property tucked in a corner of Egilsstadir. Was snowing heavily around so did not get to enjoy much of the views around here. The owner was very friendly and gave us some tips about the area. Would definitely recommend this hotel and town as a stop if you are doing the ring road.

Wonderful 3 generation fun holiday
Booked 2 triple sharing cottages in early April. Cottages were in a quiet area away from the road and reception. One had a small kitchenette which was perfect for us (3 generation of 5) as we could cook our noodles as it was too cold to go out for dinner. My granddaughter was delighted as she could build snowman with the snow outside our cottages. Heating elements were good; we felt cozy and warm in our cottages.

Great updated hotel
This hotel room was updated and clean in a great location. The owner was very accommodating. You can tell they work very hard to keep this beautiful hotel running. My only issue with this hotel, similar to other Iceland hotels, was the shower. The shower curtain kept sticking to my skin because the space is so small. The other issue is the lip for the drainage is not high enough, so it makes a mess all over the floor. This is a really common issue in Iceland and I'm not sure how they could fix it. I didn't mark them down for this but I just wish I had known about it. Otherwise a great place to stay.

The room had a strong unpleasant odor. There was a dog dish next to the back door, possibly related. Also, at checkout I was charged about $35 because I mistakenly said one person when I booked online instead of two. If I had correctly booked a room for two people at Expedia there woukd have been no price difference. The manager took advantage of my mistake to charge $35 for an extra breakfast. Ridiculous.

we stayed two nights. We were in the back building which was a little dated. Room was good size, one of the lights in our room was missing the cover and bathroom was tiny. Breakfast was delicious. This is a family run hotel and everyone was so nice. They offer a laundry service which was great for us since since we were traveling for a week already. We used the hot tubs one night. Property is 5 minutes from town and with a beautiful view. I recommend this hotel and hope to come back someday.

Property is located in the outskirts of Egilsstadir and so there is not much around the area (you have to drive if you'd like to get anywhere). Because it was a little isolated, the property felt very peaceful. We were pleased with the room and service provided. Breakfast, which was included with our stay, was very good and had a lot of variety. Only drawback for me was the size of the bathroom and shower/bathroom set up. It was a little small and had to be careful not to get entire bathroom wet. I would recommend this hotel.

This was a cute little property, and I have to commend the young man who checked us in when we arrived, gave us a tour of the place, and walked us up to our room. We felt more than welcome, and that's all thanks to him. Overall, I'd just say that the place felt a little dated, and the amenities were fairly basic. There was a nice hot tub area that we did not have time to use, and the breakfast was more than adequate. But the decor leaves a little to be desired, and there are no TVs in the rooms. Somehow we overlooked that part of the hotel listing, so it was a bit of a shock when we arrived and realized there was no TV. Otherwise, everything was perfectly suitable for a good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast before heading out on our next hike.
