Dear Kris,Thank you for your feedback.I see you booked your reservation through Expedia - there was an alert posted at Expedia about pool being closed until Friday, April 12th. The alert was posted as soon as we found out about the maintenance dates, which was about two weeks before you booked your reservation. If you book through Expedia, you have to make any changes or cancellations through Expedia, so if the hotel staff directed to call Expedia, that was correct. We cannot alter those reservations without Expedia being notified first. It is correct that the front lobby door is locked overnight, and this is for security. However, as a guest, you have your room key which you should use to gain entry back into the hotel. Staff member could have been doing security walks through the hotel and not been at the desk, or perform any other duties - they know registered guests can get into the hotel using their room keys. They do not have to be there to open the door for any registered guest. You threw your room key at the front desk agent when leaving.
