I cannot speak highly enough of my experience at the Kangaroo house. Our hosts were very welcoming on arrival, showing us around the property, which is beautiful, as well as the home amenities. They have a hot tub which is perfect for relaxing in during nice days and a working fireplace that feels cozy on the not-so-nice days. Jill and Charles were attentive to our needs in all the right ways. I was there for a trail running race and have celiac and they took extra steps to make sure I had gluten free options for food. My husband had their normal breakfast and said it was amazing. He hates pancakes but said the ones they made were incredible. Additionally they were very friendly and inviting to an LGBTQ couple staying there which made me feel safe and welcome. I look forward to going back in the future!

I can't say enough about how wonderful our stray was. Instead of feeling like a guest, Jill and Charles made us feel like good friends welcomed into their home. The breakfast they made us every morning was outstanding even with my dietary restrictions. The bed was super comfy and I adored all the beautiful antiques. This IS the place to stay!!

Th e proprietors here offer not only a lovely, comfortable place to be, with great attention to detail, but encourage and participate in a wonderful conversational environment at breakfast. We have always met interesting people. Most exceptional, a divine, unique three-course breakfast every morning that rivals any you could get at a gourmet restaurant, often using home-grown items.

Quiet and quaint B&B, lovely grounds. Its close to the main shopping district. The breakfast was fantastic and they ask specifically for any allergies or dislikes. I would definitely recommend and stay again.

Jill and Charles have created a cozy, comfortable and clean experience that will keep us coming back. The breakfast was delicious and they accommodated a gluten allergy with creative flair. There was zero home sickness while visiting the Kangaroo House!

A lovely BnB with very gracious hosts, a super breakfast, and beautiful grounds. Our room was well appointed and spacious, but the king size bed was actually two twin together in an ill-fitting frame, so was rather saggy. We had an early departure on the second morning, so the hosts were very kind to pack us a bag breakfast to go.

It was a little confusing to hear about the bed as it is relatively new and is not a split mattress, but one single king mattress resting on two box springs as most king beds are. Other guests have told us how much they liked it. But,we will swap it out for a brand new one just the same because we want to respond to our guests' needs. If you visit us again, there will be a new Stearns and Foster Pillow-Top mattress waiting for you!Many thanks,Charles and Jill

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The breakfast and coffee setup were AMAZING and the hosts were just so welcoming and nice. The room was very clean. Only issue was the beds were uncomfortable but if you like a firm bed, you’ll be great. Would highly recommend!!

Charles is an amazing host and a really cool and interesting person. We had such a wonderful stay! There were so many thoughtful touches- the quaint little hot tub setup, cozy bathrobes, awesome tea selection, sweet library, and OMG the breakfast was out of this world!

This was the nicest BNB I have visited! The house and room were exceptional. The house was in excellent repair (no wear and tear at all). None of the musty smell most older homes have. The room was beautiful and well designed. Breakfast was excellent. The hosts were very helpful. All in all an excellent stay.

Jill and Charles were amazing hosts! Their rapport with us was established well before even meeting them as we navigated the intricacies of ferry travel. They shared the history of the inn after one of their decadent breakfasts and offered must-sees as well as less traveled routes. After the glut of the Air BNB phase, these two and their lovely cottage were a welcome respite to the traditional B and B.

The 3 course breakfasts were incredible and different every day. They do grow some of the food themselves. The home is a classic craftsman with lots of beautiful stained glass light fixtures and windows and beautiful wood doors. You can watch the hummingbirds at the fixtures while you eat breakfast. The hosts were incredible and gave excellent suggestions for local hiking locations and restaurants.

Just the relaxation I needed
Just stayed here for my birthday weekend with my best friend. The hosts were so friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and many of the ingredients were from local farms which is so cool. Would definitely come back.

Jill & Charles were very warm and friendly. They were both a wealth of knowledge regarding great dining options and activities of all sorts on Orcas Island. The breakfasts were amazing and fit the environment. It was a very relaxed and peaceful stay. We loved it for our anniversary getaway!

The Kangaroo House B&B is a perfect spot for a restful vacation. The breakfasts were amazing and the hosts were friendly. I enjoyed our breakfast conversations. They have a hot tub located down in the woods, but unfortunately I did not have time to enjoy that - but it is in a beautiful spot. Built in the early 1900's, the house has a lot of charm. Very clean.

We enjoyed everything! Being first time B&B ers` Our experience surpassed our expectations. The owners are kind, welcoming, down to earth people They welcomed us and made us feel comfortable from the minute we arrived at their lovely abode. The house and grounds are beautiful, The rooms are lovely and everything is well maintained. Centrally located so just minutes to town, one street over from the Fishing and whale excursions we had booked. Overall a fabulous place to stay you will not be disappointed.
