A modem and clean hotel, in the upmarket Oberkastle area of Dusseldorf. The room on the 6 floor had a good city view, was a good size. Bed was very comfy. There’s even a Kamps cafe right next door with delicious breads and pastries. Only two drawbacks: no free drinking water after the first night, and nothing English on TV except the news. Good for a short business or leisure stay.

Bugs Everywhere! :(
Had an infestation of bugs in the room with 5 of these guys coming out in one night. No offer of alternative room and no apology. Got no sleep which is not what you want from a hotel. Really disappointing experience

Value for money
Nice hotel close to where I needed to go and the Mercure did not disappoint. A bit tired in decor, it was clean, quiet and comfortable. As a big bonus, the superior rooms come with a stocked, free minibar! The only downside was the welcome at reception (busy counting money, too busy to greet) but as a whole, what you get for your money is spot on.

Comfortable hotel, with nice bar area and decent food (burger is particularity nice). The staff were pleasant and helpful. The water in the shower kept going cold, then hot, then cold again.. bit weird... WiFi needs improvement..I didn't like the look of the sauna/fitness room area (most German sauna and steam-room are clothing optional, which is not my cup of tea)

Decent Business Location
If you're visiting the Messe (as we were), this is a good compromise between cost and convenience. Only half an hour by excellent public transport and the 'wrong' side of the river, it is very good value, and an excellent hotel. A relaxing place to lay your head, and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. For the tourist. it's less than 20 minutes to the city centre, and sitting within 5 minutes walk of two U-bahn lines it has great connections.
