Walkersons overall much improved in overall refurbishing in most areas ,room furnishings is beautiful and terrace area .Food 5 course Valentines was excellent and service outstanding .
Could not fault Walkersons - beautiful setting & great staff right from Alex the GM who could not do enough to Nurse on reception & all the bar & catering team.
Another wonderful long weekend stay at this unique place.
The staff is incredibly friendly, professional and observant. Guy the kitchen Chef even arranged sourdough rye bread for breakfast for us.
The post-Covid out- and inside maintenance work has not gone unnoticed and added to the overall pleasant experience.
The attention to detail of the rooms and the helpful staff made our time very memorable.

Wonderful stay at Walkersons! The rooms need a bit of an upgrade and maintenance. For example, the door in our unit didn’t close properly. In our previous visits, fires were packed and ready to be lit - only heating in the rooms, missed that small touch. Other than that, a very comfortable stay.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The place needs a revamp, the furniture is chipped for a 5 star standard.
The whole 5 star expectation was'nt there and was lacking on all spheres, accommodation, food and decor and service. Even the spa treatment was underpar compared to other 5 star establishments.
We loved our 2nd stay at Walkersons Hotel & Spa. The staff are professional and very courteous and the food was delicious. Our room had excellent extras, Charlotte Rhys products in the bathroom and a well stocked tea/coffee/bar fridge. We loved the natural surroundings and the birding was excellent.
Awesome hotel and staff. The only small negatives were the inconsistent WiFi as well as the sound system in the lobby and restaurant not working, which made meal times slightly awkward as one could hear other guests’ conversations
This property is DEFINITELY NOT a 5* as indicated everywhere... this property and rooms and main building is seriously dated and needs urgent attention and an upgrade!!! Currently as it is (apart from food and service which is good enough but also not 5*, let's say 4* Superior standard currently) the buildings are no better than 3* Superior and therefore requires an upgrade and serious attention for being THAT dated!!!
This place with its setting, architecture and always helpful staff is just such a wonderful oasis irrespective of rain or sunshine. Yes it is beginning to show its 25+ years and certain aspects could do with a makeover. We did thoroughly enjoy our five day stay and would have loved to stay another week.
I think the setting was MAGNIFICENT but it's always the little things that marr a good experience. We stayed the one night only. When we came back from dinner at just after 9pm we were locked out the hotel and had to find our way around the bushes etc in order to gain access to our room. The Hotel told ne the telephoned me which they did once only, but I did not hear the phone. The Q is why not call again or if you can't get hold of your guest don't just leave them out in the fog (yes fog; worse we've ever experienced! The other dissapointing things were: 1. smelly pillows (really?!), 2. the one tap (hot) did not work and the drinks cabinet doors did not close.
Booking in was quick and efficient, staff were very friendly and professional, food was great and room was large with beautiful views over dam. The setting is fantastic and walking around was a peaceful experience. The only thing I can criticize on is the fact that people walk in front of the units so you don’t feel you have much privacy
THE STAY WAS FANTASTIC, LOVELY VIEWS, VERY COMFORTABLE AND SPACIOUS ROOM, BREAKFAST WAS GREAT , AS WAS THE ONE DINNER WE HAD, WITH A VERY GOOD WINE CELLAR
What a fantastic stay at Walkersons. Fantastic setting. Friendly staff, great room; and the food was magnificent. Really worth a visit.

Dear Liesl

Lovely stay in the Gretel cottage. Overall very happy and will want to visit again; main points of improvement:
- gas fireplace in cottage seems to leak gas as very strong gas smell in cottage once turned on
- extractor fans in both bathrooms are very loud and leads to the bathroom becoming very cold
- service of some of the trainee staff can be improved
Lovely location; room very neat and tidy; cosy main building; lovely bed!
Thanks for the pleasant stay.
Walkersons remains a wonderful place to visit with welcoming staff and fabulous food. Its a slice of the Scottish Highlands right here on our doorstep. Definitely the best place to stay in Dullstroom. This was our 3rd annual visit and there will certainly be a 4th.
The setting of this hotel is just amazing. Rolling hills and trout ponds all around are just lovely. Food was simply fantastic! We loved the fires in the rooms and heated blankets. Sherry in room also a nice touch. We would highly recommend a stay here. It was amazing!
Relaxed, exceptionally quiet and calm, rural retreat. Luxury service and excellent meals. A must for the fly fishermen out there with multiple ponds and a river running through the estate! The room featured a bath, a double indoor shower as well as an outdoor shower.
