Perfect place to stay if you’re visiting Dublin. Super close to bus stops and very walkable for things like Dublin Castle, Trinity Collegd, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and Grafton Street!

My friend and I stayed here and we absolutely loved it! The owners were very kind and helpful. The pub has amazing food right at your fingertips. It was close to all the fun things that Dublin has to offer! Highly recommend and would stay again if we come back to Dublin.

Staff was incredibly nice. We showed up in the morning due to an early flight and they were very accommodating. Although we couldn't check in, we were offered a place to store our luggage while we spent the day sightseeing.

Although worried since we were arriving on a day the pub was closed, the check in was easy. The room was bright and clean. The property is in a very convenient location for exploring Dublin.

We stayed for 2 nights and really liked the room and bar/restaurant below. The location is great for walking around the Temple Bar/Trinity College area. Only issue was parking, the nearest parking was a 10-15 minute walk, and took me almost 30 minutes to drive to at rush hour, and there’s not a good place to pull over to drop luggage before parking. Check in/out was easy and I enjoyed the stay.

This is a follow up to last night’s review which dealt mostly with staff and the facilities. This one speaks to the pub downstairs and more specifically, the chowder: the best I’ve had, bar none!

Loved the location and that the hotel was historic. Also, it was convenient to have a bar and restaurant downstairs. Within blocks, we were in the Temple Bar district with lots of restaurants, music and shops. It felt very safe with lots of others walking about.

Ok, so there’s no elevators; so, try to pack light. The staff more than makes up for that little shortcoming! You’ll be in the middle of a busy city; it’ll be a bit noisy. That’s all a part of the excitement of Dublin. You’re 10-15 minutes walk from the most exciting area of Dublin. There are buses and cabs galore if walking is an issue. The staff, starting with Kieran and Gabriel, are as accommodating and engaging as they come. I’d adopt them all if asked! This is not the Hilton, so, get past that. There is so much character to this building and this area that will compensate for any shortcomings.

Quaint, cozy, somewhat unorthodox
The room was great. Quaint and cozy. We were more than comfortable! It is unfortunate we had to park so far away as there is no designated parking for the pub lodge. That’s metro areas for ya. It is unorthodox, since they’re not staffed or “open” for check in when the bar is closed but they are very helpful in their communication. We were very happy with our 1-night stay

We had a delightful experience at O'Neill's Pub. The room was sweet and very clean. Cleaned every day! The staff were so helpful. The pub was fun and the food was great. Kieren, the manager was so helpful. A great experience! The best way to get there from the airport is to take the Dublin Express bus at the airport and get off at George's Quay €10 for a round trip ticket. A great experience!

We were so happy to have found this quaint little place right in the heart of Dublin! We loved the ambiance, the cleanliness of the room and the ease of access as well with easy to follow directions from the owners. Absolutely the best spot to rent, especially if you have more than 2 beds needed for your party and Just a 25 min drive to the Dublin airport! Very very pleased with O’Neills - you should definitely stay here if you want access to the pubs and the shops in downtown Dublin at a reasonable cost!

Three days in Dublin.
A great pub, beautifully appointed rooms, staff unbelievably fantastic, great location near all you need to be near in the beautiful and cosmopolitan city that is Dublin. And the staff... words cannot express our gratitude to them. Only issue, the front rooms, at least, can be impacted by the street noise. Otherwise we recommend it to any traveler any day of the week.

Stayed at the townhouse, room 6, for four nights in February and was very pleased with the accommodations and feel as though I received excellent value for the price I paid. Management was very communicative, emailing me instructions on how to collect my room upon arrival. They had it arranged where I could arrive on my own schedule, regardless of the hour, which I really appreciated, when I learned my delayed flight from home was going to put me arriving there very late. Throughout my stay, anytime I had a question or need, they were prompt in responding to my query. The property is dated, yet clean, safe, well appointed, and comfortable. The townhouse is located on the floors above the pub, with a separate access off the Sidewalk. This worked especially well, as the pub itself is not open at all hours, or on all days (which, I gathered, was a by-product of staffing, due to covid). Due to my late arrival and then my itinerary for the following days, I didn’t have the pleasure of enjoying a meal at O’Neiils Pub until my last night there. The decor is exactly what one might envision of a local Irish pub, was well-attended by patrons and groups of patrons, but not too full, and the meal was one of the best I had during my trip to Dublin! I highly recommend grabbing a “pint” there, and enjoying one of their somewhat limited selection of Irish meals! In closing, I was exceedingly pleased with my stay at O’Neills and would not hesitate to stay there again.

O’Neills is a historic building in a prime location. However, it is in need of renovation. The rooms themselves were overall the best part of the experience - spacious, comfortable, touch of luxury. Great showers, classic turn of the century touches. The rest of the premises need work: carpet needs replacement, flickering lights. I suspect their closure during the pandemic did not help matters. Overall I would consider choosing it again, but go in with measured expectations.

Thank you Teresa for your lovely review. I am sorry you had an issue with the mattress in your room as we have never had any other complaints before regarding that mattress. Many people prefer different mattress types, but we will certainly take a close note of your complaint and will replace it if it is necessary to do so.

Wouldn't Recommend It
Did not enjoy my stay here. The pub and restaurant was closed when I arrived at 6 pm (my main reason for booking this hotel) so I had to search for food out in the city. Not as centrally located as I previously thought. The keyhole made it difficult to open the door and I felt like I might be mugged while trying to enter the premises that night. Took nearly 10 minutes. The bathroom was atrocious. Weak lighting made putting on makeup a moot point and the sink's water pressure was delayed for several seconds before suddenly becoming a torrential downpour that flooded the bathroom floor. Twin bed was too small even for me (5'4 and 115 llbs) and not at all comfortable. Door slammed shaking the building. I've stayed at hostels in Eastern Europe that comparatively felt like the Ritz Carlton! 90 Euros seemed very steep for the lackluster accommodation. Best thing I can say was that the man who checked me in was nice.
