Good stay
I was worried with all the bad reviews, but this place was perfect for an overnight stop before going to the desert. It costs 20 dinar (~$6 USD) to park there overnight, however, the parking has a guard and roof so it is worth it. We also left our bags there. There is no wifi in the rooms, but honestly, I tethered through my Google Fi phone connection in most places in Tunisia anyway. Overall a good stay.

I really enjoyed my stay
The hotel is nice, big and relaxed. The staff is very nice and speak some English which is a rarity. The room was clean and the hotel is close to the desert. You can also get a trip through the hotel and they are very competitively priced. The breakfast was basic but tasty (better than in other hotels in Tunisia). Being close to the desert, it is quite a distance from town but the hotel can call a taxi which was also very reasonably priced. Overall, I would definitely recommend.

They tried their best but I mean it's in the middle of the desert and everything kept breaking like the air conditioner and refrigerator. Those two things in the desert is very important in a room.

It’s ok hotel if you need to spend a night before Sahara Desert tour. Outdated facility, although the foyer and entrance are grand and built on massive scale but got stuck in 70th era . Breakfast was poor, very limited. No natural juice options only instant drinks. Coffee it could hardly call it coffee you would not be able to drink it. No butter- margarine option only . WiFi available only in the lobby area

This is a lovely large hotel that works hard to provide excellent services to a complex clientele. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the lobby very nice, the rooms nice for such a large hotel and the location is excellent. We chose half board and found the food very good.

The property is outdated, but it is very clean. It's definitely the nicest hotel in Douz. The staff were extremely kind and helpful in booking us desert tours. The food is good.

Less than tw stars hotel
Too much less staff to attend to your basic needs (most of the time , nobody at the reception and sometimes you call from the room, but no reply). Terrible food, and more than that, while checking out they do not want to give you any invoice or proper receipt , and they they try to convince you that this is normal (it is too much weired). It seems that they are getting used to groups only.

An excellent choice for Douz
Very good in all respects apart from location (some way from town - taxi required, but all tourist hotels are located in this area) and the indoor pool was closed. Excellent WiFi in room, TV had BBC World. The demi pension was very good value - good buffets for both breakfast and dinner.

Good option for Douz
Excellent facilities and very large property. Nice pool and atmosphere in the evening. Very nice interior, a bit dated but it has its charm. The buffet dinner was very good for vegetarian and good value. Attentive staff too. Compared to other hotels in the area, this is much nicer. Lot of tour group use it. Very good value for money and I would gladly stay at any of their hotels again.

The hotel was not bad, but not great either. Quiet, almost too quiet. And they charge 8 TND = 4 Euros for one hour of WiFi even if it does not work most of the time.

Great experience at El Mouradi Douz!
I must admit...because another hotel in Zone Touristique had received a better review in Lonely Planet, we tried to make a reservation there first. But no other hotels were able to accommodate my wife, myself, and our two teen sons in the same room. El Mouradi Douz gave us a great half-board rate and a HUGE, recently remodeled suite for our family to share. The gentlemen at the reception desk were very helpful in giving us advice about guides and activities in the Sahara. We were very pleased with our entire experience at El Mouradi Douz!

Broken Promises
This hotel met only my basic needs. The air conditioning in my room never got cold enough, leaving the room stuffy throughout my stay. In addition, it was impossible to connect to the internet anywhere in the hotel throughout my stay. The hotel advertised both the air conditioning and the internet in its Hotels.com listing. I cannot reward a business that does not follow through on its promises.

Miserable Hotel
The hotel looks very nice from the outside. However, you are situated next to the desert and it is very hot. The hotel felt like a sauna inside. Who wants to sleep in a sauna, eat in a sauna or hang out all day in a sauna? They tried me in 3 different rooms and I finally just gave in. The service was horrible. The one nice thing about this hotel was the pool. It was the only place to cool off. Of course they had let all the local boys in from the town so they were gawking at all the tourist girls. It was not a pleasant atmosphere. The breakfast was also a joke. They try and save money by putting out the cheapest food items. I live and work in Tunisia and I will definitely never take my clients here.

El Mouradi Douz
The El Mouradi DOuz is in a very good location if attending the Sahara Festival. It does not yet appreciate the necessity of providing advertised services ie internet in rooms or even the lobby area. It also is very cold in the public rooms and it was necessary to wear coats and hats to dinner and breakfast. Rooms were a good size but the mattresses were like rock.

Nice hotel for a stay in Douz. Staff is friendly. We had a junior suite which was quite spacious. The pool is very clean and staff of hotel friendly and helpful. The only negative aspect of this hotel is the dining room. This hotel caters lots of tours. Bus load of turists in dining room. Service is rushed and atmosphere not that pleasant. Food is very basic and not the best we had in Tunisia.

Very satisfied in the Sahara!
My stay in this hotel was fantastic in every way! Led by a terrific hotel manager, ALL of the employees went over and above their normal duties to be sure that my experience was perfect. The location was perfect for exploring the Sahara and for shopping at the market, the service was impecable, the hotel beautifully kept - I could not have been happier!

Calidad-precio super bien. Pero, cada vez que usabas un servicio (comida, masaje, etc) tenías que ir a pagarlo al momento en lugar de juntarlo todo al final. Mientras comíamos el camarero tenía prisa por cobrarnos y nos pedía ir hasta la recepción. No me pareció aprepiado!
