We ate in the restaurant and found it to be much better than we imagined. Staff were great and food delicious would highly recommend the cod, and my husband had the pulled pork excellent.

Really lovely stay, the staff were superb and very friendly. The hotel was a little tired in parts and could do with a little attention but this did not affect our stay. As I said, the staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble

Went to Bournemouth for two nights, and this place seemed to meet my needs. Had to hunt down someone near the desk in order to check in. Once I did, she was friendly and pleasant. Room was spacious and clean, but common areas had some wear and tear. The problem came on my first night. A loud wedding was taking place, and the after party went until after midnight. Guests drunkenly shouting to the lyrics, heard crystal clear from my bed. Called to complain, was told an email had been sent a month prior. I checked, it had, but the details were buried deep in an Expedia email that looked like every other ad from Expedia, and the details only said there would be a wedding with some music until around midnight. Wasn’t clear that sound would carry. Had breakfast, which was serviceable. If I return to Bournemouth, I’d stay again, but I’d make sure it wasn’t during a wedding. Otherwise totally adequate for my trip.

Although the staff at the hotel where amazing and the food out of this world, i was however disappointed that I order a birthday cake to find out upon arival that they had no cake. There are only 2 disbaled parking, i had to park the other end of the carpark. Im limited on how far i can walk so was upset to find out we werent in the hotel but in the lodge adjacent to it.

The lodge itself is like a little maze, quite dated, but the room was lovely and clean, ample for our needs, bathroom was a little tired, that’s my only complaint, but it did have a lovely big bath. The hotel side is gorgeous, great facilities, lovely staff, faultless breakfast!

I would like to compliment Leah, on reception. We had a couple of requests and she and the other members of the Reception team dealt with us in a polite, cheerful and efficient way. This level of professionalism was experienced throughout the whole hotel. Excellent food and drink too. Our room (No. 61!) was large and beautifully presented. We will return to this hotel

Really comfortable room with the basics. Spa was amazing and very clean but what wins 6* is the staff and the service they provide! From reception staff to breakfast staff and the bar. Added confort of using whatsapp to communicate any needs, questions or requirements! Fantastic stay!!

Unfortunately, the staff did not warn us there was a wedding reception in the function room in the hotel, and had placed us on the first floor right above it. They said that we 'should' have received an email informing us of it, but even after checking in the 'junk', no email has been received. This meant that there was loud music playing right under us until just after midnight. This also meant that the car park was full, and we had to pay to keep the car elsewhere until the tiny car park had a space. In my opinion, as a booking not related to the wedding, we should have been put on the second floor of the lodge, on in a room in the main hotel building.

Connaught Lodge is the poor relation to the Connaught Hotel. We were given a room in the corridor of a stairwell so the noise of traffic past our room during our stay (night/day) was quite high. The room was severely dated, TV froze and had to turn off by the plug socket, cold water tap was more lukewarm and lift you could barely fit 2 ppl with luggage without breathing in. Check in was at the hotel and was the only positive part of our stay.

The hotel and facilities are knackered. The safe didn’t work, the AC doesn’t work, the walls and carpeting need re-doing, bedding is knackered and the spa is super sketchy. Loud people in the hallways and their rooms made it difficult to sleep. V misrepresented online versus reality.

Don't be fooled, not like the pictures. Very tired and dated hotel in need of a lot of work. The attached Connaught hotel seemed better but the dining options was the very same menu over 4 days for lunch and dinner. Listed as 4* but that needs a major rescore. Staff were always friendly. I asked for a refund for one night as I had to leave early for a family emergency this was refused which was disappointing but has no baring on my review.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. We had evening meals there twice which were imaginative and delicious. The breakfast had everything you could imagine on offer, all top quality food. It was just a five or ten minute walk to the beach, pier, aquarium and other facilities.

The staff were simply excellent and made this trip for us. The room was ok although the furnishing and decoration was dated. The room did have cobwebs hanging from the ceiling though and it could have been in a better level of cleanliness, but this would have required modernisation of the room itself. The bathroom was ok but not like in the pictures on the site - again it needed modernisation. The Spa facilities were excellent as was the gym. Food was excellent. Overall, it was a mixed bag - we loved aspects of the hotel, although we had to upgrade to get a room we found acceptable. However, for the price it was actually very good - for spa and hotel facilities it was great - the pool and sauna and gym are very good. The staff were super helpful and polite.

Tired looking hotel
Standard double room was small and very outdated. Broken tap and lots of scuffs on the walls and doors. Musty smell in the bathroom which was freezing. Breakfast was good with lots of choice.

I wouldn’t recommend the connaught lodge.
We were in the Connaught lodge which is next door to the Connaught hotel. It was in need of updating as it had the look, feel and smell of an old people’s home. The smell was awful. The room was large but the shower was mouldy and noisy, the walls were paper thin and the bed was hard and uncomfortable. Granted it was only £89 (including parking) but I think there is probably better options in Bournemouth. I wouldn’t return.

The room was quite dated however clean & spacious. TV didn’t coonect to Internet so didn’t work. We’re informed of wedding reception however we’re assured noise would be minimal but could here disco 2 floors up until midnight then a few noisy guests finding their rooms. Breakfast was exceptional - lots of choice & staff welcoming & attentive. Spa also dated with ceilings peeling but pleasant pool & hot tub, steam room had no lights, sauna average.Very hot in changing rooms - air con clearly not working so impossible to dry hair. Left feeling less than refreshed! Probably won’t return - lots of hotels in immediate area that could be better.
