Pleasant stay

Posted 04-Jun-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Put a fridge in the rooms and black out curtains
Location: Walking,running,cycling....seaside not far
I had to stay in Exeter an extra night and I booked the same day, the hotel has great surrounding and good facilities. the room are clean and simple a little on the small side. Overlooking the dining room causes a bit of disturbance with light in the night. ROOM SERVICE very good. Staff at reception helpful and friendly but the nicest was the staff at breakfast. good stay

Good hotel for stop over on way down to Cornwall.

Posted 25-May-2015
Pros: Facilities, food,staff.
Cons: Pillows!
Quiet golf hotel near Exeter, stopped there for one night on way down for early morning event in Cornwall. We wished we had stayed longer, or got there earlier in the day, as we arrived too late to use the pool or other facilities. The only issue of note were the terrible pillows, I can't imagine from where they could actually have sourced them! (take your own!) We ate at the golf club, which offered a good choice of specials, high quality burgers, fish and chips and steaks. The food is produced in an open kitchen, with restaurant standard service. Breakfast was also very good.

Perfect!

Pros: Clean. Modern. Tidy. Great facilities.
Cons: The receptionist was a bit snooty.
Location: Not too far from Exmouth and Exeter, so if you want to go into town you could.
Just what I was looking for. Very happy with my stay. Great facilities. Lovely sized pool. Food and drinks were a bit pricey but that was to be expected.

roadworks in area led to some interesting diversions on my satnav but the hotel was worth the drive. food good and reasonably priced but not many people about. perhaps they were all lost in the country lanes?

Enjoyable Stay in a beautiful Hotel

Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. Would consider coming back here for a personal stay. The evening meal in the bistro was lovely. A reasonable price compared to other hotels I have stayed at in the area.

A countryside retreat

Posted 07-Mar-2015
Loved this place once I found it, shouldn't trust sat nav with the postcode. Lovely comfortable room, quiet overlooking the golf course. The meal I had in the Atrium restaurant was amazing, the wine too, and very reasonably priced, and beautifully presented. The ambience was lovely, soft lighting, candles, music, could not fault it. Just a pity I was on my own, as would be the ideal romantic retreat. Would visit again, and look forward to using the Spa Facilities next time!

High Quality & Great Value Hotel - Excellent find!

Posted 06-Mar-2015 on Hotels
Hotel is in a wonderful setting and was difficult to fault. If you are prepared to stay just outside Exeter then you could not choose better. The Hotel is allied to a golf club and leisure spa all of which are apparently owned by Nigel Mansell. The room was very well appointed, extremely clean with excellent views across one of the Fairways. Dinner & Breakfast were excellent with a varied menu, good quality ingredients and cooked very well. The wine list was more than adequate and the staff most polite and obliging. I only scored 4 out 5 for room comfort as I think a hotel of this standing could offer more comfortable feather pillows ( or at least an option ) rather than synthetic foam type pillows. Another small niggle was both myself and my colleague found the internet was extremely slow which would have been a major problem had we been staying more than 1 night. However this is a good hotel which is great value for money and a good find. I will certainly go back there again and are even contemplating booking a long weekend there.

Comfortable wel equipped touring base

Beautiful hotel about 20 minutes outside of Exeter and handy for Exmouth, Buddleigh and Sidmouth. They have two electric vehicle charging points although they are (cerrently) under used so the staff weren't sure where they were to start with, but bring your own charging lead. The gym is very nice with state of the art equipment. For a complimentary breakfast, it was very nice and plentiful. Overall a really nice stay
