“Great Location in Downtown!”
We were looking for a hotel that was downtown, had transportation or was close to some sort to the Joe Louis Arena, and had a few in-room amenities. This hotel was easy to find and a block from the tram to the Joe. We were able to have a drink at the hotel lounge, walk to the tram, and relax in the room with the minifridge and microwave after our night on the town. The staff was very friendly and helped us get where we needed to go. Great experience overall!
“Ok”
My complaints would be the size of the rooms are a little small for the price. I stayed here since it was close to Greektown and Greektown was all booked. Only reason to be in the casino district was actually for the extra security the casinos provide so my girlfriend and I could enjoy a bit of night life after a concert. I guess it is the Hilton and location location location, but the price seemed steep for comparables in that range. The valet, front desk, and cab driver referral were all A+, the room was clean and the building has good security.
“Hidden fees”
This hotel was in a great location. It was on the other side of Ford Field and Comerica Park. I paid I pretty large price to stay just one night. I was going through town. As I was checking out they charged me $20 just to park there overnight, even though I was a guest. I've had to pay for parking in Chicago and New York, but Detroit? Really?! The hotel was clean, but very busy. We went to get breakfast in the morning and the buffet cost us $28 dollars for two people, which was extrememely over priced for what was offered to eat and I had to have valet park my car. Overall, I would have stayed some place less fancy and gotten my money's worth.
“Great for Easy Access to Downtown Detroit Attractions”
This hotel worked out great for our recent attendance of a show at the Fox Theatre. Ford Field and Comerica Park are within walking distance, and for the most part, the walk feels safe and secure. The hotel staff was very friendly and efficient. The room was clean and well kept. We will definitely consider staying here in the futur if we are taking in an event in downtown Detroit.
“great for sports venues in downtown Detroit”
the ideal location for a stayover in downtown Detroit to attend a professional sports event or see a show at Fox Theatre. If all of Detroit had the appearance of this area, it would be a great city again.
“great place”
Hotel is located in a great place, central to all that is Detroit. Hotel staff has always been fantastic. Rooms have micro waves and fridges and are very clean. My son loves the pool which is large and clean. I just can't say enough good things about this hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.
“Excellent location to ball park, great restaurants in Greektown”
Good size room and good size bathrom. We paid for a king size bed & got that. A laundry is also available on site and you have free wifi. The food & service at the restaurant is great with good choices & also a great happy hour. Heather served us each time we were there in the evening/late at night, she was fantastic offering suggestions where to go, what to see & how to get around as we didn't have a car. We always ask the bar staff where they go for a nice lunch /dinner, not necessarily where the "tourists" would go. A short walk to the ballpark and all the action. The hotel gets very busy if a baseball game is on. If you go to the ballpark on a Friday night, they have fireworks. We also ate at Greektown which you can walk to or get the people mover for 50c a ride (a raised monorail) that takes you around the city, quick & easy. We ate twice at Red Smoke BBQ in Greektown. Food was excellent & the staff very friendly & helpful. Would recommend it. We also went on Detroit Princess Dinner Cruise, which we though was great & good value for money. We visted the Motown Museum which was great. Overall a great at this hotel and we would stay again at this hotel if we're back in Detroit.
“Not as described”
The room was quite small for the money. The mandatory valet price was never disclosed. To be a hotel with the Hilton name compared to other Hilton hotels this one was quite misleading.
“great hotel except for weekend nights”
This hotel has a great location downtown, close to restaurants and the sports stadiums. The staff was very friendly. If you want sleep don't stay here in the summer on the weekends. It was so noisy, it was hard to sleep. The noise went on until 3:00 a.m. Other than the noise it was a great place to stay. The Detroit Seafood Market restaurant next door to the hotel is a great place to eat. Don't miss the bakery in Greektown.
“Perfect Location”
the hotels location is perfect, nice safe neighborhood, close to comerica park, ford field, greektown, hard rock cafe, all within walking distance! and the hotel is very clean and comfortable!
