"Advertised as 4 star, but inside room evac.plan says 3 star . In reality a 3 star bar and restaurant and 2 star rooms. Rooms tired, i.e. walls dirty, wallpaper peeling, furnishings old, badly scratched, cobwebs, broken window fastening, mould in bathroom, shower eithef too hot or cold, toiletries (only soap dispenser) cheap. Bar closed before 2200hrs (staff said as only 4 customers it was pointless staying open) and would only offer beer, wine or tea after 2145hrs. When we made comment to...

"Stayed there for a couple days. It was a bit strange. First of all the check in process is different. The person just asked your name and gives you your room key. We had dinner at the hotel the first night and the service was terrible. It was like they didn't even see us sitting there. This is a very small hotel so that was strange. "This hotel had the best service I have ever experienced! The clerks would recognize us and ask how we were enjoying our stay. They even remembered specific things about us to personalize our visit. It is an old monastery so you were staying in history. Would highly recommend this place!!"

"One night was not good, other guests were loud and disruptive and knocked on the door at 3:20am. Obviously not the hotels fault but made for a poor night's sleep! The second night was great, no disruption and very comfortable. The shower needed a little bit of temperature adjustment whilst using but nothing too bad. There was a sweater in the wardrobe so not sure how thorough rooms are checked but everything was good. Happy to see paper cups for the coffee and tea as a hotel I used to work at...
