Whoever called this a four Star property was dreaming; it's a three star pushing towards two. The security door at the front of the hotel was broken in the open position. The decor looks like it hasn't been updated in 20 years. To call the rooms sparse would be generous. No charging points. The floor tiles in the bathroom were broken and the floor waterlogged. Mould on the grouting. Everything was the cheapest version of the most basic offering possible. There's a Premier Inn next door; go there instead.

This does not however help with your situation and we would like to deeply apologise for your experience and the inconvenience caused to you. All bedrooms should be checked before any guest arrives to ensure all our standards are met. Not as I expected parking is the most not happy with over all
Tap was not cleaned properly before our selfish was given room as in was not cleaned proper as you can see the photo

This was our second time staying here and as always it was great. The room was clean and is only across the road from Derbion and right above the bus station which is perfect for if travelling on public transport. Cannot fault it.

Fortunately a casino next door to be able to watch any sports. No sports but several BBC news channels. Sucks for normal people who don’t want to be indoctrinated by the media and simply enjoy a good football match.

Very friendly and cheerful staff
The room was really clean and warm. The staff were very friendly and cheerful when I checked in. It’s close to the city centre so everything is within walking distance. Highly recommended.

Inner Derby excellence
Very convenient for catching National Express coach to Heathrow. Pleasant staff who made it easy to get where we needed to. Good restaurant with excellent service and good food.

No air conditioning = noisecand no sleep
The air conditioning wasnt working and hadnt for a long time judging by the reviews . we were told its ok the window opens and you have a fan and bottles of water . One fan for 3 people , loud pub with karaoke till midnight , all of us had very little sleep. if i had known about the a/c i would have booked somewhere else , yet we werent informed until the day we arrived when it was too late ! i expect more from Holiday inn The staff and breakfast were great though .

Lovely stay
Lovely stay, we were only there for one night so hard to judge further but was a great stay. Spacious room and good shower pressure. Park in NCP Siddals road, cheapest option and only few mins walk to hotel.

Excellent staff
We stayed for two nights, check in was smooth, and hotel is centrally located next to the river, bus station and shopping area. We went out for the evening and left our air con on, but on returning the room was not cool, we decided it wasn't going to be a good night so went to reception to complain. Immediately we were offered the chance to change rooms and while they ensured the room was ready a complimentary drink at the bar. The staff couldn't have done more to help. There was an issue with the TV suddenly coming on in the middle of the night which is disconcerting and it happened both nights. Despite the problems we encountered we enjoyed our short stay because of the staff All staff in the hotel; reception, bar, restaurant, and the local management team, are extremely customer focused and do everything they can to make your stay as comfortable as possible

Excellent location, super helpful receptionist
Excellent, very central location but still very quiet. ENORMOUS and really comfy bed, large room and very clean. Only downside was the aircon wasn't working but it didn't get too hot. Huge thank you to Jess on reception who was able to give me my key before official check-in time and HOURS before I got back ridiculously late. She also got my bag put in the room while I was out so I only had to think about getting in and falling asleep at the end of a VERY long day. Brilliant customer service :-)

The room wasn’t very clean and very warm. They had an AC which doesn’t work well. And a fan. But again, the fan wasn’t very quiet. Randomly there would be some noise of either the lights of fan that would go on for a while and then stop. Bathroom wants every clean either, and all round a very average room to stay in. Staff were lovely.

Where to stay in central Derby.
Clean hotel, spacious rooms, friendly staff, great location, couldnt fault it. Visited for Derby University open day, uni bus stops right outside hotel.

Car parking console to get discount parking did not work, hotel was a bit tired but clean and the bar had nothing on draft, only cans charged at £5 each. Would have been okay if sold as a cheap and cheerful place, but not a ‘good’ hotel by any means.
