“The reviews were corect. This place is very good.”

Decided on this hotel because of the very good reviews found online. Reserved the super deluxe room with two twin beds and stayed for two days. The previous few days I stayed in a 5 star hotel. Even so, I found the room reasonable large and very clean. I was not expecting it to be this nice. There were no extra charges on top of the Expedia price. Staff was nice and friendly. Make sure you print the map on the hotel's website before going there. Cab drivers will probably not know how to find it. Even with the map our driver took a while to find it. It is on a side street, out of the way. So don't forget that map. The good: pretty quiet (perhaps except the AC which was a bit noisy) clean and reasonably large room, clean hotel overall very good selection of TV channels, domestic and foreign Computer with Internet in the lobby Can order food at reasonable prices (have not tried it just saw the menu) Felt safe Can be improved: Staff is sleeping in the main lobby. This may be a problem if you want Internet late. Computer with Internet is not very well maintained. There were a lot of applications running on that computer that should not be there. Perhaps installing an application that limits user rights or constantly reverts the system to a well known state would be better. Lots of places have these installed. I did not feel like typing my password in there. My friend did and nothing bad happened.

“Enthusiastic about hospitality”

This was the best hotel during the last trip in India among hotels including 4-5 star hotels I stayed at other cities. They professionally made us feel at home.

The Hotel is neat and clean. The staff are very helpful and are available 24 hrs. There is no noise outside in the night time and you can sleep happily. The only drawback is that the Hotel is situated in a backlane and is not known to most of the Auto drivers ot taxi drivers but you can always call the hotel and they will guide you(provided you have a mobile phone). The best way to travel is to book a taxi from the Hotel and you get the best service. The food is not that great but is OK. If you have time, you can check out the nearby restaurants.

“A fantastic friendly find in Delhi”

Delhi was our first stop and I was travelling with a friend who had never visited India before and was a little anxious I had booked Wood Castle because of the reviews. It was better than any of them a little difficult to find in the taxi but we had such a warm welcome. The owners were there and the organised everything for us as we only had an afternoon/evening there. First lunch, then a driver for a tour and where to go( I would recommend the Lakshmi Temple) suggestions where to eat in the evening how to get back on the metro with all their numbers if we got lost.When we arrived back they wanted to know all about our day and have a little party for all their guests. We got breakfast in bed and a drop off at the train station. The perfect start to the most amazing trip Would come back again in a shot.

“comfort in Delhi”

We stayed at Wood Castle for 3 night on our way to Nepal. The driver was on time upon arrival. The staff met us with tea and a beer. They could not do enough to help. The location is not near many restaurants so we had all of our dinners at Wood Castle...excellent. Hire a driver for 2 days through the hotel and he was a very good driver. He took us to Agra to see tha Taj and that is a must do while in Delhi. Wood Castle is a place of comfort in the crazy mix of Delhi.

“Good Budget Hotel!”

Good Hotel! Area not the best, but calme and look safe! Very friendly staff. (No room cleaning for the 3 days we stay there, but at the sime time good very helpful staff)

“A clean & confortable stay”

India and Delhi are not the cleanest places - to be polite, so finding a good hotel can be a great pain. Long storry short... this hotel is a good hotel by international standards but a FANTASTIC hotel considerring it is in India, i really believe that for the cost of the stay, it offers incredible services. The manager of the hotel was always helpful, treating you like a family guest (they even gave me detergent for free to wash some cloths :)).

“A diamond in the rough”

We were very happy with the Wood Castle. It has reasonable rates (we went in the off-season), is fairly new so it's in good condition with modern conveniences, the staff kept it very clean, the food was good, and everybody was very friendly and helpful -- including the owners who would come by in the evenings and visit with the guests. The neighborhood of Karol Bagh is a bit hard to navigate and under extensive construction (even for Delhi), I think many of its blocks have been recently sold to developers, I bet in 5 years it will be much more attractive and vibrant. The hotel is a short walk from the excellent new Delhi subway system which is a big plus for getting around. Give this hotel a try!

“Amazing people; great rooms”

What makes this hotel stand out is the welcoming feeling of our hosts. They were amazingly generous with their time, patience, and helpful tips. They put a lot of effort into making the rooms nice, and it shows. The rooms are very comfortable and well done, with nice attention to detail. The neighborhood isn't the most attractive, but felt safe. Breakfast was simple, but good. Room service was also good and had much more variety. I would recommend the Wood Castle and would stay there again if I were traveling to Delhi.
