Really spacious family room with full access from the hotel as well as a private external door. Immaculately clean, really comfy beds and large shower room, (just needs a more controllable electric power shower). Really good breakfast with lots of choices and well thought out fruit juice/ milk bottles. Loved our stay there, so convenient for a short walk to all the Bowness amenities. Thank you Jenny.

Lovely hotel with fantastic owners. We arrived well before check in time but we were welcomed any way. Our room was room 12. Lovely and clean with a nice comfy bed. We were provided with lots of information about the local area, things to do and see and different walking routes. Breakfast in the morning was freshly prepared. No heater lamps or trays like the bigger hotels. It made it seem much more personal. The food was lovely and served very quickly. Would highly recommend

Nice property, fairly small rooms very small bathroom. Breakfast not much choice and very over cooked. Lovely host though and nice touch with small bottle of Prosecco waiting in the room.

This is a fantastic hotel. The accommodation is brilliant and to a very high standard. The staff were exceptionally flexible and helpful and their attention detail was excellent. The food was awesome too. A great place for families. Highly recommend.

Excellent privately run hotel centrally located with restaurants, bars and the lake all within walking distance. The room was very comfortable and the quality breakfast food selection was great.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay, the hosts were very polite and served up a lovely breakfast. Location was excellent as only a short walk into town. Our room was lovely but unfortunately we found the bed and pillows uncomfortable so did not get the best sleep. We would go back but maybe try a different room.

Very friendly welcome. Breakfast very good and considering the dining room was full it was served promptly. Just to note there is no lift at this hotel and if you struggle with stairs recommend reserving a room on the second floor as the third floor stairs can be a bit of a struggle.

Lovely hotel, has the personal touch. Very hospitable and friendly. Breakfast was delicious, service excellent. Very convenient for visiting Bowness-on-Windermere and local area. A lovely stay, would definitely visit again.

1.We were asked to pay extra money for our little boy, I had to show what they advertised on hotels.com. They didn't know what they had advertised, it is riduculous. Finally, we got a small bed without extra charge. 2.We were with a little one and pushchair, however, we got a room on top floor and with indoor stairs. It was extremely inconvenient to get in and out since the stairs are really narrow. 3.Nobody asked us what we would like to drink and eat on the second morning, we had asked for coffee and breakfast by ourselves. Moreover, there were cereal and flake, but without milk, we had to asked them again. 4.The carpet of the room were dirty and should be replaced. We can't find anything good except the location. I was misled by the average 4.3 points when I booked.

Nice place to stay in a central location
We had a very nice time here. The hotel is a bit up the road from Bowness, but not so far as to be an issue, and is very close to a bus stop for the 599/555. The owners and staff were very helpful, and the breakfasts were huge.

Stayed for two nights over a weekend in May 2015. Hotel is very nice, and the owners and staff were very friendly and accommodating. I was a bit late for breakfast one morning, but they made sure I was well fed!

An average guest house certainly not an hotel!
The establishment had no notification of my reservation booked through Expedia. The owner was unsurprised saying this was a common experience with Expedia. We were advised not worry since they had a standard double room available to us. This room was obviously the one used for emergencies, it resembled an outbuilding addition. If this is their "standard" then all rooms must be tiny. The floor slanted towards the window, the miniature flat screened tv was placed on a small stool below the base of the bed ~ so low it was unviewable from the bed. Only one door of the ancient emulsioned wardrobe opened and the bed required replacing, There is nowhere apart from the floor of the toilet to store toiletries, shaver etc and I'm glad neither my wife nor I are overweight ~ we would have had trouble getting into the tiny shower cubicle. The electric shower is so inadequate.

Ideal for an overnight stop; probably would not choose for a longer stay. The room was clean and airy - adequate for sleeping but not particularly for relaxing, as only one chair was provided (there was room space for a second). A nicely furnished lounge area was available though and the hotel was well situated for shops and eating places. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient.

No restaurant
One of our reasons for choosing this hotel was because it had a restaurant and bar. As their website says at the end of a day's walking you just want to relax. There was no restaurant!! This apparently closed in APRIL. A big disappointment. Our room had a tiny television (approx 20") standing on a very small table about 1 ft off the ground. The only comfortable way to watch it would be to sit on the floor! A third negative (and potentially dangerous) aspect was the use of paper bath mats. The potential for slipping as one climbed out of the bath was enormous especially as there was no handrail. My husband and I had to help eachother out of the bath/shower and we are fit and able.

If you are looking for 4 star accommodation don't be fooled by the rating. The hotel and rooms are very clean but, This hotel is not 4 star by the usual international rating. It is rated 4 star by local tourist board. The facilities you would expect with 4 star are non existent. There is no bar, no restaurant, except for inclusive breakfast. There is a small lounge with books and use of dvd player but that's it.
