Views over looking the Lake

Posted 15-Oct-2014
Pros: The situation, it was nice and quite, had the open fires going
Cons: Not really
Location: Widermere is on the door step. We also went to a national trust Wrays castle.
Staff were friendly, hotel in an idealistic situation. Nice walk around the tarn from the hotel. Choice the light menu for dinner which was served in the indoor terrace room, which was very nice

Hotel with Relaxing ambience

Posted 09-Oct-2014
Pros: Location, quietness, service, food, parking
Cons: Like it just the way it is!
Location: A 5 minute drive to Bowness and Windermere tourist areas and readily accessible to all other areas in the Lakes a District.
Quiet, relaxing and elegant; Located away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas about 5 minutes drive from Bowness and Windermere. Excellent indoor and outdoor areas to look out over Lake Windermere and across the lake towards Hill Top. Very attentive staff. Elegant dining room and excellent dining with a wide range of gourmet dishes to choose from. Extensive grounds to wander about if you feel the need to move away from the pampering.

Great Hotel for exploring the Lake District.

Posted 17-Sep-2014
Pros: The excellent food as well as the convenient location, friendly staff and comfortable rooms.
Cons: Nothing, they know their job!
Location: The location is superb for a visit to any part of the Lake District.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Linthwaite, the reception, manager and staff could not have been more helpful throughout. The quality of the restaurant is simply outstanding, although not cheap, you really do get value for money and I have to say that the chef created some of the best dishes we have ever tasted. Although the hotel is above Lake Windermere, the view is largely obscured by trees and the lake could not be seen from most of the rooms, notwithstanding the hotel is well situated for a trip to any part of the Lake District and the grounds themselves are well maintained with comfortable seating and loungers for a coffee or drinks. After a hike round the Lakes the thought of the dining experience to follow was wonderful. We will certainly go again. Thanks to all at the Linthwaite.

Lovely Hotel But Small Room

Posted 16-Sep-2014
Pros: The Location and the food. The Guests Lounges.
Cons: I expected a more luxurious Bedroom with more space. Coffee should be included in meal price.
Location: In the Hills overlooking lake Windermere. A short drive to town and the Lake.
The Location is wonderful. In the Hills overlooking the Lake. The food is excellent although you do pay £52 for your meal and then have to pay for coffee. The Service is very good although a little formal. The Staff are mainly eastern Europeon and seem trained to serve professionally with no small talk. Our room was comfortable although small. It was a standard room. The bathroom was clean but more like my bathroom at home than the luxury you would expect in a countryhouse Hotel.Guests lounges were very pretty. The basic rooms are not cheap. Overall a lovely holiday, the weather was good and we sat out on the terrace with lovely views.

Hotel in a perfect location.

Posted 20-Aug-2014
Location: Lots of outdoor pursuits... especially walking, sailing, boat trips and horse riding.
This hotel is in a beautiful location in the Lake District - Bowness on Windermere. It has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. We had a superior double room which was very comfortable and clean. The dining room was cosy and tastefully decorated and the food was good. Overall, a great place to take a relaxing break, - though expensive at this time of year.
