Lovely place to spend New Years Eve
We enjoyed our visit so much. We had everything we needed in the cabin along with the beautiful view of the water. We used the fire pit at night and soaked up the quiet and the solitude. Our dog enjoyed the time there, too!

Nice little get away!
It was pleasant and quiet, couldnt really fish because of moss and grass in bottom . Other than that it was really nice . Goid place to spend quiet quality time with spouse or partner.

A nice quiet getaway
This was absolutely a great quiet getaway from it all....nice surroundings, easy access to the parks and towns and lots of solitude. Weather was perfect while we were there... 70's in October and the trees were beautiful! A very small cabin but no larger than the 2 of us need. Newly updated firestick tv gave lots of access to shows, movies, etc. Not sure of the building activity began next to the cabin... a bit too close imo. Overall, a great stay!

We loved everything about this little cottage. We enjoyed every second of our stay. So nice to be away from everything and we were able to bring our dog. He was able to have fun too! We would definitley stay here again! Love the love shack!

Quiet Getaway
The cabin was exactly what we were looking for, a quiet place to get away with nothing around for miles. Literally nothing around. There is a little stop l strip about 10 minutes away that had several dollar stores and a gas station but that's about it. There's a large town about 30 minutes out. All you can hear from the cabin is nature!! It was a perfect for me husband and I but there is a twin bed up on the loft if you brought a child. Fishing is hard unless you're on a boat since the lake is full of grass that you're hook will catch on, other than that great stay!!

Delightful getaway
This was our second visit to the “Love Shack”. Both times we enjoyed a quiet quaint rustic getaway. The gravel drive made for a safe country walk. The provided canoes allowed for great sunset and sunrise fishing.

Wonderful, peaceful and beautiful!
My 9 year old son and I stayed at the cabin this weekend and had a wonderful time! Check in was a breeze! The cabin was adorable and very clean. There is a fire pit right outside the front door. I had a hard time getting a fire started and Rick was super nice and came down to help us so my son wouldnt be disappointed. Its in a great location, right on the lake and a quick 10 minute drive to Pennyrile State Park Beach. We will definitely stay here again!

Grandson and Grandparents had a Wonderful Time!
The cabin was a perfect fit for two adults and one child. The weather in Mid-May was perfect, not too warm of muggy. We saw no mosquitoes until the last night. If you know where to go on the lake, you catch big bass. The owner, Rick, is extremely nice and helpful. He lives on the property.

What a beauty
This property and the cabin were simply beautiful! It was packed with necessities for all our needs to rest comfortably. The patio and outdoor area was stunning and it was so nice to step away from home. Saturday morning the lake on the property got very busy but it is easy access for the kayaks and canoe and we appreciated it so much to have access to it and the life jackets. Our dog loved running around all over the property and field in the front on the cabin. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful getaway!

Adorable
We have family that lives in the area and we love visiting but hate leaving our dogs at home. We were so lucky to find a place that we could stay and bring our two dogs. They loved running around in the open field beside the cabin. The lake is beautiful and the cabin was so cozy. We would love to visit in the warmer months to use the lake!

Very Quiet
If you like the quietness this is for you. We had 4 nights in this cabin, was awesome. Everything you need to cook with is there and very clean. If your a tv fanatic like we are this is not for you. Bring dvds! That is all they have, cell phone did good as expected out in the woods. No Blu-ray dvds, we bought couple and couldn’t watch. So maybe owners will put in one for blue ray and reg dvds. I couldn’t get out to walk around, need walker and it was kinda muddy and lots of rocks. But sat out on side deck, sun was wonderful even though chill was in the air. My small dogs loved to be able go for walks out there, otherwise we put up our corral to let them out themselves. Well we’re in late 60’s so it was very quiet like at home. Maybe they could put up TV antenna? Maybe pull in couple channels. Very relaxing, couch is comphey.

We had the most relaxing, fun time at this little gem of a property hidden away in the hills. The small town, with very friendly locals, even had a delicious cupcake truck we stopped at for some anniversary treats! A glorious retreat!
I spent a long weekend here with the intention to decompress and escape my day-to-day. My camping days are behind me … too old to pitch a tent or sleep on the ground! This little cabin on the lake was perfect!! So peaceful, quiet, and beautiful! The cabin was well appointed with the essentials for cooking (equipment only, no spices or condiments). The electric fireplace kept it toasty and attention to details made it homey. I made good use of both decks for dining and reading. I even made a pretty decent campfire or two! Verizon connection worked well, so phone and data were no issue. Bring some DVDs and a book or two, although there is stock of both on hand. I didn’t notice any nearby hiking trails, but the road is rarely travelled and safe to walk on. It’s a bit of a drive to any town. The Woodshed in Hopkinsville is worth the drive for their outstanding ribs! I made an out-of-the-way stop back there when heading home to bring some ribs and burgoo … it was that good😊 I will definitely be back to enjoy this little slice of heaven!

Beautiful natural setting
This is a great rustic cabin kept very clean and welcoming! The host is wonderful. You can sit on the porch or on the swing in the grassy area and look over the lake, which is right there! If you have dogs they'll love the large grassy area, as well as the many sticks to find & chew on!

Nice place, quite, quaint.
The house was nice as advertised, the river not so much. The river is good to kayak, canoe, or fish, it’s not conducive to swim in. We took our dogs to romp around in the water and it was too dirty to let them do that. Would have been nice to have a hose hook too. There was no TV or Wi-Fi , only a limited supplies of DVD’s. No cooking supplies other than pots and pans, dishes. No coffee, Saran Wrap, foil, cooking oil, spices, etc… or storage containers for leftovers. The grill was in poor condition.

I had such a nice, peaceful, relaxing stay. Walking out the front door and having the lake right there in front of you is tremendous. I would recommend a stay here to anyone looking for peace and quiet. I had such a wonderful time and the cottage has everything you would need and very cozy. Definitely planning on returning.

Lake is very disgusting lifejackets are covered with mold bring your own very peaceful but there is no Wi-Fi or even local tv service pictures must be years old because it is not anywhere near as nice as shown owner was very nice and because of of the slime on lake there are very limited places to fish. Children’s beach is not even useable. If you just want to relax and sit by lake, it is a relaxing place so just know what it is like

A Great Place to Stay!
This cozy little cabin was by far the best place that I’ve had the opportunity to stay for a couple of months. So quiet, peaceful with a great view of the lake. As a travel nurse, it’s hard to find a nice place that’s super quiet & peaceful. I usually stay in hotels where there is lots of noise making it somewhat difficult to get some good quality sleep. The owners/property managers couldn’t have been more accommodating & nicer. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone, especially travel nurses to have a stay at this cabin. You won’t be disappointed! Thank you guys so much for making my stay very enjoyable. 👍

simply splendid
We were looking for a simple, serene, special new year's eve getaway. This little cabin's description met those expectations and delivered above and beyond. The lake is beautiful and blessed us with tranquil canoe rides while catching a few small mouth bass and even spotting an otter. The quaint cabin created a comfy place to pray, relax and read. We are super thankful for the experience of this wonderful little cabin!

Great Cabin on the Water
Very nice, cozy cabin on the water. Easy to locate, easy check-in. Fire pit was great on a chilly night. The cabin itself seemed difficult to heat when the temps dropped into the 20s.
