"Turning in to the drive, we wondered whether we had misread the signpost as it seemed to meander through the beautiful grounds forever. Parking right outside the hotel, there was someone waiting to open the door for us; one of many small details which go so very far. After unpacking in Badger room, we sampled some of Matthew's expertly mixed cocktails before having dinner. "Myself and my partner stayed for 2 nights, on the first night with were arriving at 8.10pm just after the kitchen normally closes. We rang up and nothing was too much trouble, we preordered over the phone and they held off on preparing our meal until we arrived. Food was amazing and we had a lovely few drinks in the pub which has such a warm atmosphere. Our room was lovely, we particularly enjoyed the log burner, and was a great size. A great stay, we would definitely come again! "

"Very welcoming reception. Room comfortable and clean. Good bed. The old inn buildings historical and interesting and charming. Lovely pub bar with little beer garden in the courtyard. Could offer more variety of beers and nicer wine glasses to up the pleasure of using the bar. "
