A really nice small hotel in traditional - and luxurious - country style with super friendly staff and excellent breakfast, only 10 minutes drive from the beautiful historic center - and restaurants, cafés, bars, and shopping - of Cortona.

While we have stayed at far more upmarket places in the area, Baldelli is a place we have returned to. It is very good value for money. The rooms are comfortable but not luxurious. The reception staff really make you feel welcome, and are always friendly and happy to share information. The pool area is stunning, so is ideal for a relaxing trip. The breakfast options were excellent. Cortona is very near by so an easy drive for a visit or a meal.

The grounds and buildings are stunningly beautiful!!! A short drive into Cortona, this is the place to stay. Spacious rooms, beautiful pool, like a resort in an old movie and the staff are soo helpful and pleasant. The food was delicious as well. Definitely going back one day!

Our Stay in Cortona
What can I say, from the first moment we stepped in we were greeted by a friendly male staff member who organised lunch and coffee for us while he tried to sort out a taxi for us to attend the township of Cortona. The food was delicious and when he didn't have any luck with the taxi services. He bent over backwards to make sure that we got into town during a busy weekend. Beautiful and romantic location, excellent and friendly service which was the best during our European trip and delicious food. What else could you ask for. 10/10! Highly recommended.

We liked this B&B. It was very welcoming and helpful for directions. The grounds were lovely, although it was too cold to use them. Breakfast was a wonderful selection of meats, cheeses, breads, cereal, yogurt, and tea and coffee. I would return should we have the opportunity. I would recommend this location to others. Cortona is a great hill town and great for climbing steep hills! There were some amazing restaurants, as well.

Beautiful hotel in a great location
Really nice 17th century building with tasteful decor. Peaceful location set in lovely grounds. Very close to Cortona, but as it’s up hill you either need a car or to get a taxi! The hotel staff are very pleasant & helpful. We would definitely stay again! Next time we would hire a car & explore more of Tuscany!

Staying there was like being a princess in a castle. I had to leave early, so I was unable to talk about the breakfast. It was quiet and relaxing! Hotel staff were amazing!

Wondrous stay in Tuscany
We feel so lucky to have discovered this elegant and serene villa. The rooms were splendid and comfortable. The hours spent at the swimming pool were restorative. Everyone on the staff was so helpful. Grazie Francesca! We look forward to our next stay.

Just about OK..but thats about it
Friendly staff (especially the jolly lady on check-in who was outstanding) but the hotel didn't live up to expectations unfortunately. The pool is average and avoid the 'classic' room as it seems to be the forgotten world. I wouldn't stay here again and think it was expensive for what it was.

Relaxing trip. Hotel staff going out of their way to help guests. Only 15 rooms so very quite and solitary. Nice sceanery,close to town,train station etc. No complaints.

The closest place to heaven
This place is a dream place... The perfect set for a movie. There is a vineyard on the property and the area is loaded with the essence of olives, flowers, gardens and grapes... Is the perfect spot for just married couples, retreat or just for unwind. The closest place to heaven. The staff, Francesca, Leonardo, Eva and the rest of them are AMAZING. I would go back every time...

Week in Tuscany
My husband and I had originally planned to do lots of day trips while staying at Relais Villa Baldelli. We enjoyed our Junior Suite so much that we tried to get back early each evening to have a picnic outside of our room with some wine and things we picked up at a deli in Cortona. The staff was so helpful with anything we needed as well as advise on traveling to different areas. We will be ging back next year!

Wonderful stay at a beautiful villa!!
We spent a beautiful 3 days at this beautiful villa! The staff were top notch and our stay was perfect! We would highly recommend villa baldelli and hope to return again!

Gorgeous Villa
A gorgeous Villa at the foot of Cortona. So happy to arrive at this lovely inn where 3 of us shared a room in a detached villa. The room is old and a little tired but the feel is authentic and you can not beat the grounds, the architecture, outdoor breakfast, and kind staff

Amazing location and staff
If you want to stay in an authentic hotel that provides a genuine taste of Tuscan life then stay at Villa Balbelli. It is a charming building with lots of sympathetically restored features and an excellent pool with stunning views of the Tuscan countryside and the hilltop town of Cortona. The staff deserve a special mention - they are amongst the most friendly and welcoming staff I have come across anywhere in the world! All in all, a fabulous stay on a memorable holiday.

Like something out of a movie..
OMG... If you died and woke up in "La Dolce Vita" you would be at this hotel sipping a drink called an "Americano" (Campari, Prosecco and soda) and listening to the church bells as the sun sets. The hotel and gardens are lovely. The desk clerk in the afternoon was the loveliest person. The pleasure to expense multiple was very high.

A great small hotel in the edge of Cortona
My wife and I stayed almost a week and loved the hotel. It is like staying in a an old Tuscan villa except with all the modern conveniences. The hotel has an excellent restaurant. The staff is friendly and helpful. Conveniently located for visits into the old walled city and for day trips into the countryside. Staying here is a true taste of Tuscany.

Absolutely magical getaway
From the moment my taxi pulled up in front of the Relais Villa Baldelli, I was absolutely enchanted. This hotel is a gem in the Tuscan countryside. My room was decorated in perfect antique Tuscan taste. I spent my mornings wandering through the vineyard and afternoons laying by the pool. Morning breakfast was plentiful and delicious and I enjoyed one excellent dinner and bottle of house red. When can I move in?

A small, high quality hotel in a good position for exploring this part of Tuscany. Our room was comfortable and slightly quirky (interesting pictures on the walls), the staff were friendly and helpful, the food was very good and the pool was excellent with superb views. The owner presented us with two bottles of wine as we left - a lovely touch. Negative points were minor: for our part we prefer silence to muzak; and the range of options on the dinner menu could have been wider, though I appreciate some careful balancing is required to control costs and quality. We would certainly recommend the hotel and will stay again if we come back to the area.

Mini Resort Hotel close to Cortona, Italy
A car is necessary for the location, but this allows you to get away from the noise and congestion of the old cities. Villa Baldelli is at the edge of a vineyard, in quiet farmland. The swimming pool is great for cooling off, and the poolside bar service is convenient for happy hour. The option to dine in or on the outside patio is awesome, as the view of Cortona on the mountain is a great backdrop. Loved the generous breakfasts, good choices for dinner, reasonably priced wine. Staff were very attentive and helpful. We couldn't ask for more.

Great Hotel for Visiting Tuscany
This was a lovely hotel with extensive grounds and only ten minutes by car outside Cortona. Only disappointment was that the pool was not open and the grounds seemed a little unkept, we would assume this is because May has been an unusually wet month in Cortona and is fairly early in their season. We could not fault the service,staff and the very enjoyable buffet breakfast. We would say a car is necessary if you are staying here as the town is a few kilometres away.

Beautiful Hotel for a wonderful getaway
We loved everything about Villa Baldelli! The rooms were perfect, the staff friendly and helpful and the grounds just breathtaking. The food was also wonderful. We stayed three nights and had a wonderful time. I loved the fact that the hotel is very old and has so much history and character. We were able to do day trips from there and its just a short drive into the town of Cortona. Or, you can relax in the garden area to read or chat. We would definitely go back to visit our friends at Villa Baldelli.

Fantastic base for exploring the countryside
It's rare that a hotel exceeds my expectations but I have to say that both the property and the staff at Relais Villa Baldelli have. It is every bit as nice as it looks. The property is just minutes outside of Cortona surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, it is a beautiful base to relax and enjoy the Tuscan countryside and hill towns. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful and we felt very much at home. We only stayed for 4 nights, but next time we'll probably stay for a week.

My husband and I were traveling through Europe for 4 weeks, and this Villa was our very favorite. We stayed 4 nights, and more would have been even better. The rooms were very spacious, had history and charm.

Very relaxing and scenic
We loved it here. It was so relaxing and quiet. The staff was very nice and helpful and the food was delicious! The only one little criticism I have is that it is hard to find food in the afternoon. We had to make a reservation by 10 am for lunch and if we didn't we could not have lunch. I found this a little strange so if I were the villa I would amend that rule a bit. Other than that we would love to return!
