“Awesome service, great find!”

We were ending our South Carolina vacation at the coast and wanted a quiet, nice place to stay for our last night before we caught a plane in Columbia back to California. This place is a higher end Holiday Inn with the most comfortable beds you can imagine. We needed a crib, directions to the airport (20 minutes away) and a reccomendation to a family restaurant ( across the street). They do have a restaurant but the 2 year old was hungry NOW and it didn't open for another hour. The pool was closed for repairs so they sent us across the street to a sister property. Back at the property, I had a relaxing drink in the bar. All the hotel service people were wonderful and accomodating to all our needs. They have a cute little convenience store where my granddaughter found a book for $4.00 for the plane ride home. Thanks for making the end of our vacation special.

Area recommendations

Coming from Folly Beach in the Charleston area, we only had a few hours to spend in Columbia before we left for California early the next morning. We chose the Edventure Museum because we were traveling with a 2 1/2 and a 15 year old. It was great for the little guy, in fact he pitched a fit when we had to leave but not that interesting to anyone past about 10 years of age. From the heart of Columbia we had to drive through a fairly crummy neighborhood to get to our hotel, but the location was close to the 77 freeway and only about 20 minutes from the airport. The hotel itself seemed to be in a better location.

“Nice hotel but a few issues!”

The hotel is modern and very nice but the bathroom was falling apart. I got up in the night to use the bathroom and there was a puddle of water on the floor that I almost slipped on. It appeared to have leaked from above. I took pics of the bathroom as the toliet above obviously leaked through as the drywall was recently repaired and the back of the toliet in my room was recently repaired as well because a huge part of the wall was damaged. The bath tub area had a bunch of little bug things likely related to all the water issues. But other then the bath room issues it was a nice hotel.

“Clean and Comfortable and Only 10 Min from Ft JAX”

I was very pleased that this hotel was only a 10 minute drive to Fort Jackson. The room was very clean and comfortable. My only complaint would be that they did not offer movies for rent (Pay Per View). Internet was free; coffee was available. I'd highly recommend this hotel for this area.

“4 Nights at the Holiday Inn in Columbia”

We spent 4 nights and 5 days at the Holiday Inn in Columbia. The purpose of our visit was to attend our daughters graduation at Fort Jackson. The hotel was convienent to that location. A couple of things that could be improved is to have the pool and exercise room open longer than 10PM, expecially on hot days. There is no reason to close the exercise room at 10PM. Time limits need to be placed on those who use the business center. I was unable to take advantage of the services due to impolite people sitting on the computers day and night. It seems like management could have taken a more proactive stance and enforced time limits when they knew the situation existed. The rooms were comfortable & clean. The tubs could have been more cleaner & the tub area was due for regrouting. The wash clothes looked dingy & had stains.
