“never stay at this place”
If you are going to Ft. Jackson there are a lot of better places to stay, was there 3 days, Wi Fi never worked, and it is in the middle of nowhere, close to hwy, but.... I didn't rent a car because they told me it was close to the base, WRONG, $25 one way to base, $35 to airport. Overall not a good Days Inn, I was very disappointed.
“Comfy bed... older room... scary truck stop”
older hotel that needs repair. toilet and sheets were not clean. house cleaning practically forced us out before out designated checkout time. only hotel at the exit and nearby truck stop had many shady characters which left an uncomfortable feeling about the are. bed was big and comfy though.
“GA couple”
Stayed for the night on a road trip. Admittedly, the hotel is showing its age. But the room was clean, and the bed comfortable. And we got a very good rate. So we can't complain. Will stay here again if the need arises.
“Not Impressed, but usable in urgent need”
Needs some extensive work and cleaning of motel.
“A little over priced for this motel.”
Didn't care for the incense smell while I was checking in. Sofa and chair in guest room had bad stains on cushions. A little over priced for this motel. I will stay elsewhere in my next travels through that area.
“Not what they said it was.”
This motel was just above poor. It is rundown and in poor repair, just marginally clean. It was not located near the Ft. Jackson gates as they claimed in fact there are 2 comfort inns that are closer. Maid service was late each day (after 2pm). The staff was friendly and tried to be helpful. The breakfast was available but no nearly as good as we have had at many other comfor inns. The fruit was spoiled. Unless you want to eat at McD's every meal the only thing with in 5 miles is a Truck repair and a church. it was a 15 - 20 minute drive down the interstate to find anything. Initally I wanted to call customer service and move to a better location but just didn't want to go through the hastle after a long drive and plane flight. Buyer beware it is a roll of the dice here...
“Days Inn - Fort Jackson, Columbia, SC”
The hotel room was clean, and a change of towels, etc. was done everyday - unlike some of the other less expensive places we have stayed in. Continental breakfast was decent, with coffee, milk, juice, a few cereals, small muffins, bagels, and some fruit. It was super, but breakfast was decent. The only problem with the room, itself, was that the television wasn't working properly - and the front desk didn't repair it while we were there. Room lighting, the bathroom, and door locks, as well as the beds, were fine, though. During weekdays, at the time we were there (May), there was more than ample parking. The area was quiet, which a gas station, Subway, and other places to eat in walking distance. They also have a small, enclosed pool, on-site. The hotel is located within 10-15 min., maximum, of downtown Columbia, as well. If this is of concern/interest to anyone, there are military personnel here (as the name of the area suggests), but it wasn't a problem while we were there. As a relatively inexpensive place to stay for a few nights, Days Inn at Ft. Jackson is definitely recommended.
“Ok for the money if you don't mind being close to the state prison!”
The hotel was not in the best part of town but I never felt unsafe. I'm not exactly sure how hot it has to be for them to open the pool but a humid 93 degrees was not hot enough! Staff was nice.
“A Cheap Alternative”
Convenient along I-20 with poor road access, this is a cheap room alternative when travelling. However, the free continental breakfast does not begin until 7 am on weekends and the free wireless internet access was not functional. Room is satisfactory for the price. Both a table and a work desk are provided. Even though right along the Interstate, road noise was very minimal.
“For the price, you can possibly do better.”
I went for a Ft. Jackson graduation and to be honest it was okay for the money. 133 Plumber Rd is a nowhere truck stop that is right on the highway about 15 minutes from the base and incredibly far from the airport. If you stay here I hope you have a car and don't go by taxi because that will be expensive fast. On my last day I had an issue with the cleaning service, I left a do not disturb sign on the door and they completely ignored it. When my husband and I got to the room the bedding was gone and we had to wait an hour for them to come change it and clean the room. It was awkward. The walls are thin, bathrooms old and the bed was stiff but for the price it was as expected.
