My room was small but very clean plus it was in walking distance to the shops and a five minute drive to the beach. And even though my room was right next to the Pacific Hwy it was quiet plus with only one entry i felt safe and secure.

The bathroom gets flooded the water from the shower didn’t drain immediately to the drain because the floor waste didn’t have enough gradient and was in the wrong position

Horrible smell, felt dirty before we even walked in, lack of AC working, felt unsafe, otherwise wonderful conversation at front desk. Don’t expect ice or water. Linens and bed were pretty cheap.

Our booking "got lost in the technology platform". We arrived around 5pm, and about five other couples were waiting for the staff person on the desk to give us our rooms given that the computer system was not working. She was unable to help. We were tired from a day on the road so went and found other accommodation rather than fight a tedious battle that was probably going to not result in a room for the night. Id never go there again.

I was given a room that hadn’t been cleaned, bed had been slept in, unmade and dusted with dirt off someone’s shoes. Had to wait 20 mins at front desk for someone to come and reassign me a room. Not much fun after a day of driving.

Not hotel fault but kids running up and down corridor jumping and knock and running. Was tidy enough and bed was comfy however the room had a smell as well as the toilet room, possibly mould. Cheap stay and will use ibis budgets again.

Program cancelled 1st booking, no refund. 2nd booking and plans changed after funeral was over, but no change allowed, so no refund. I have never before had a problem with booking a motel or making changes. Enjoy the $286,as i am NEVER going to recommended the motel to anyone, but to avoid it.

Staff was ok upon arrival. Although when I walked into my room it was not what I expected like in the picture. The carpet on the floor was dirty and sticky, the bathroom had a really bad smell and some of the sheets on the bed had dirty marks. We slept ontop of the beds and put towels on the pillows. The neighbours door kept squeaking every time they opened the door and kept us awake at midnight. I know it was a budget and cheap motel but surely they could keep it abit more presentable.

Not sure if they were fully booked out but being put in a room right next to the busy and loud pub next door with 2 young kids wasn't great. To be honest, I felt that the room needed a good scrub.. Sorry.

I stayed in this property 20 years ago and it’s was okay then. Unfortunately not much maintenance has taken place since then. In this day and age aircon is expected. The room was poorly cleaned and very cramped. I have nice memories of staying here when I travelled for work years ago. I won’t go back, it is now the standard that I would expect for a poor to average youth hostel. If it is not going to be fixed up the owners should think about putting in a shared kitchen and turning into a youth hostel or temporary accommodation. It’s not of the standard to be a motel anymore. I am sorry to say that I won’t recommend this place.

Go somewhere else, anywhere else
There's a reason why they are called budget hotels. The place is in desperate need of upgrading. From broken air-conditioning to doors not latching properly (I had to slam the door for it to close). The $18 buffet breakfast consist of 3 types of cereal, 2 toasts, yoghurt, pancake, tea and coffee, juice (so don't expect bacon and eggs). Also, if more than two appliances are used at the same time, it will short circuit the mains. It happened when guests tried to put the kettle on, whilst the toaster and pancake machine were already being used.

This property was discusting i was given a disability room when im not disabled the walls were filthy the water run out ofvthe room the window in the bedroom would not seal and had a broken seal i would never recommend this property at all it needs renovation down i have stayed at other Ibis property's but this has put me off staying at any others they should be ashamed and its not the staffs fault at all

After a long drive and finally reaching, we were asked to wait 45mins for our room. Place looks run down and the foyer is full of cobwebs. No exhaust in the bathrooms so be sure it will feel like a sauna. Rooms are stuffy. Will not be staying here again.

With a supposed rating of 7.5/10 and a cost of $208 for our standard room on 3rd January, this was a real let-down. Those giving the 7.5 rating must be easily pleased. My wife entered the room first, came out and said, "I don't know whether to laugh or cry." Would-be travellers should look closely at the photo of the standard room, for what you see is what you get. Other than the bed, in one corner is a shelf on which are the tea-making items. Beneath this shelf is the small but adequate fridge. In the other corner is another small shelf. Attached beneath the shelf is a small metal bar which serves as the only "wardrobe" - providing you have brought your own coat hangers - the one shown in the photo was missing in our room. Beneath the shelf and actually "in the wardrobe" is the only chair in the room. The only other place in the room for storage is on the floor - and there is not much of that to spare. I hope that Lauren (see her review on 23 December) was also staying in Room 18. If not it would seem that problems with drainage and floor levels in the showers may be a common problem. I didn't bother finding out what the "Free WiFi restrictions" were, but I couldn't get reception in our room. The Ibis is now on our "never again" list. At least the other two on our list were cheap, so we got what we paid for on those occasions.

Quite disappointing, either the air conditioner did not work or it couldn't be turned on because there was no remote, there was only a small window could be cracked open for some airflow. The bathroom stank of straight bleach, carpets were stained. To top it off our cards stopped working on the second day, luckily reception was there. For the price we paid, I was not impressed at all.

The staff were lovely. Breakfast, which was included, had a good choice of items. Comfortable, clean beds. Ibis can afford to renovate this property. The bathroom had no ventilation, the exhaust fan didn't work, it smelled strongly of bleach - probably to control the mould - and there was a notice to keep the bathroom door closed when showering or we would have to pay $1700 if it set off the fire alarm 🙄.

Would not recommend or stay again!
Extremely disappointed with the overall quality of this stay. The bed was uncomfortable, the carpet was full of stains, the walls were marked, the paint was flaking off door frames and the bathroom was absolutely disgusting, with holes and black mould. The breakfast consisted of cereals, toast and pancakes with fruit juice and tea/coffee. I advised the hotel in advance of a gluten allergy asking for this to be catered for but on arrival I was advised they don’t cater for any food allergies and there was no foods I could eat, even if told in advance. Not the standard expected from an ibis budget or the Accor hotel chain. Would not recommend or stay again!

Oh goodness, this place (or at least the room we stayed in) is run down and neglected. The bathroom had mould throughout the shower, under the sink was leaking so that every time you turned the tap on your feet and legs got wet. There weren’t any towel rails to put wet towels, and ours were soaked because the drain in the shower wasn’t at the lowest part of the bathroom floor, so water sat all over the floor (including at the toilet and sink because it was a small bathroom with a shower curtain, no hob). The carpet was ick, we didn’t want any of our clothing accidentally falling and landing on it, and we’re not particularly precious about that kind of thing. The air conditioning unit looked like it had never been cleaned or serviced and was clogged with dust and muck so we opted to leave it off afraid of what we might contract if we had it running. Girl at the front desk was nice though!

I called and requested for my booking to be changed to a room with air con, and was advised by the staff member I spoke to, that the room did have air con. I sais I had received notification after paying for the booking, to please note the accommodation I had booked did not include aircon. The staff member assured me the room did have AC. Upon arrival, the romm did have an AC unit BUT it was not connected to power, and could not be connected to power (no cords attached and no power points). A fan was in the room. Very dissapointed in the service side that I was assured of this and it was UNTRUE.
