Dear Madam, Dear Sir, the fact that you post anonymously does not help us improve the situation you describe. Nor does the fact that you did not say anything while you were staying with us. We are sorry we could not satisfy your needs after 9 pm. We make sure all our guests are aware, when booking, that we stop serving drinks at 8.30 pm in order to keep the place quiet for the clients who relish the silence of the place, which is an asset we do not want to loose. A simple phone call would have allowed us to explain that policy and help you find a location more attuned to your preferences.

Next time you visit, try one of our Cosy, Tradition or De Maître rooms : they are larger than the Douillette room that allowed you to discover our hotel at an entry price.

We are glad you enjoyed the rooms, the bar, the terraces, the French brekfast, the fans and the staff… Your readers might be puzzled by the "issues" you are referring to : the crux of the matter is that you showed up in an oversized camping-car and that we help the driver maneuver through the parking lot to make sure he did not hit another car or destroy our rosebushes, which is our responsibility. It is rare, but some drivers do resent being directed, and this is what sparked "the issue". We do apologize for any hurt feelings, but as we are responsible for the other guests' cars and we treasure our garden, the same "incident" occured when you left. In the meantime, everyone was perfectly happy.

Good morning, we are glad you enjoyed Chinon as well as your stay at the Diderot. Wz propose 27 rooms, all different : some are on the ground floor, some on the second floor, some on the first floor, some in the House, others in the Pavilion others in the Annex. Some open on the garden, others on the street. You cand find out on our website or you can call us to discuss your preferences. Weather permitting, we serve breakfast on the terraces from 8 am till 10.15. If it rains (it happens) the breakfast rooms allow us to seat all the clients (40 seats) though it is true that the setup typical of the Diderot is "guest-house style large comunal tables".

Dear ALLISON, thank you very much for your kind words about the hotel. As for Chinon, it usually appeals to travellers interested in history (the royal fortress, the Plantagenêts, Joan of Arc, Richard the Lion Heart, the Templars, etc.), architecture, wine and gastronomy. The river attracts people who like kayaking, the GR3 does it for hikers, la Loire à Vélo for cyclists. Sorry you did not find what you were looking for.
