This property is tired, run down, and worn out. The staff were excellent, but there needs to be a deep cleaning of windows, bathrooms, furniture, and especially the showers which reaked of mold and were disgusting to look at let alone use.

Furama is an older hotel but well maintained. Rooms were nice and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful but there was a language barrier with some of the staff. Our bed was alittle uncomfortable. We would stay there again.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Lobby very modern but bedrooms needed updating' very drab. Breakfast could have been more adventurous, quite boring. Very near Maya shopping mall, but long way from walled city. Don't think I would stay there again.

Not recommended for person with poor vision
Dim light is not suitable for elderly or person with poor vision. I paid 69 Baht for an OLD broken glass due to dim light in bed room. Furama was not accommodate. Next, The lift door is very narrow. Isn't it a safety hazard? Service at front desk was poor . No convience store around the hotel.

We booked two bedrooms suite, but there would be some renovations the next day above our room. Therefore, the stuffs decided to upgrade us into one of their luxury suite in stead with no extra charge. The hotel is clean, staffs are very friendly and the he room is very nice.

When greeted at the front desk, the employee seemed irritated we woke him up from his nap. Then, when we got to the room, it smelled of really stale air. Bed was hard as a rock and there were a ton of holes in the curtains. I guess you get what you pay for.

Executive Hotel At Family Price
Have you ever wanted to stay at a nice $150/night hotel like business people and rich people do? As a middle income person in the USA, I have always stayed at $40-$60/night hotels. This was my first time I have stayed at such a high class hotel. I really enjoyed it. It is older and it is not full of shiny chrome. However, it is very well maintained and everything works just right.

dilapidated, such as towels, stains on the day bed, they just put the bed sheet to cover it after complain, not bright enough at the night time in the room, only two kinds of fruits on breakfast buffet, every day same (water melon and pineapple), inside the Restaurant, dining chairs with stains, faucet very very dilapidated inside the room, will not book this hotel in the future.

Huge Rooms but dated
Rooms are massive. We stayed in family room with 2 bedrooms & couldn’t believe the size. Safes in both bedrooms. Bathroom for each as well. Furama must’ve been amazing in its day but has been let go. Not very clean but was ok. Grey old fraying towels. Most of the staff couldn’t speak English but definitely catered to Chinese tourists.

Showing its age
I was in town for a few nights for a relative's wedding. From family that checked in prior to my arrival, I was encouraged to upgrade from standard to deluxe room. I didn't even see the standard room that I had booked, but I was told it was grim. I upgraded for $300B per night and added breakfast for $200B per day. Deluxe room was spacious and fairly clean. Bed was a bit hard. Water out of the bath faucet was brown for the first 20 seconds. One of my "clean" towels smelled mildewy, as if it had been left wet in the washer over night. The staff is all cheerful. I am used to Thai accents so had no problem, but my parents couldn't understand the ladies at reception. Breakfast was not particularly appetising, but I'm sure everyone could find something to eat. The pre-scrambled eggs were so salty I couldn't eat them, but luckily, I convinced the omelet makers to scramble me some eggs. There is a little local restaurant across the street that is cheap and cheerful. Halfway up the street is another local restaurant that opens for dinner and is a bit more upscale that is decent. Easy walk to MAYA mall. Local massage place just down the street is a great place to kill some time before heading off to airport. Not a particularly atmospheric location, but it served its purpose for my group.

Close to the new town centre and department store.
The hotel is good to stay. It is close to the new town centre. There are very nice restaurants just in front of the hotel and the price are cheap. It is also an open sea food BBQ market just behind the hotel.

12 Day stay
We stayed in two rooms the executive room and the standard superior room. The executive room is huge but it is very dated and dark. It was comfortable however. The standard room was much lighter still a decent size and more modern for just over half the price of the executive room. The hotel is dated and shows its age but work is being undertaken on its refurbishment which is good. The 17 th floor pool was great and not too busy, breakfast was OK but just average for a 3.5-4 star hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly.

The hotel is very old and the pictures in the web are from so many years ago. I booked a suite thinking on being able to cook but the kitchen had not stove (?). The entire hotel smells like mold. The worst part is that I contacted Expedia to get refund of my money and move to another location and I am still awaiting on the answer so Expedia customer service was not effective . I literally waiste 440 dólares for four nights in a bad hotel. It’s sad when you travel far from home to live in this condition. I hope Expedia does the job and reimburse at least half of my money.

Huge Room
We booked a 2 bedroom suite & were amazed at how big the suite was. The common area was around 75square meters & the two bedrooms were very generously proportioned. Because we had booked the breakfast included option we were given "exectutive privelidge" status which was a nice bonus as we were allowed to eat "nibbles" & have a drink (beer or wine for adults juice for my children) absolutely free every night. This made our stay even better

At the beginning, the fancy lobby made me believe that I was in a excellent place but after that I got my room all changed. The room was clean, that's a good point but the sink was broken, the AC made lot of noice and all in the hotel was so expensive. I reckon they can improve investing more money in the rooms.

Reasonal price, room is big, swim pool on 17/F are very good. Near MAYA can shopping or eating different kind of foods. Also there is night market and new mall NAP. Quite good place to take some pictures and have good foods nearby.

Older hotel with friendly staff
The hotel has an eighties vibe with lots of wood panelling in the room, it's starting to look a little dated. Short walk to lots of little restaurants and the rooftop bar is nice. Never used the pool but it looked good, if a little small. On site parking available if you require and the staff were very friendly and efficient.

Good for the price, but definitely not great.
I have been in a Furama hotel in Singapore, so I was quite surprised by the low price in Chiang Mai, but it seems it's been so low for a reason. The hotel is quite old and hasn't had a facelift in definitely more than 10 years. You can find problems both in the room and the bathroom that I wouldn't expect in a Furama hotel, but still it's acceptable, especially for the price. But this is the better part - the worse is with its accessibility, especially when walking. There is only one street leading to it - and instead of it coming from the main road on the way to the Old town, it's coming from the avenue in front of Maya Lifestyle center - the local shopping mall, so if you are walking, you'll need to walk at least 10 minutes more, making a huge circle to get to the hotel. The same problem applies to the taxis or Ubers you might be using - they have to drive over 1.5 km more to get you to the hotel. Another problem is that the hotel is considered to be "outside the city" (even though it's roughly 1.5 km from the Old town and 4 km from the airport - which means 25% higher rates for taxis and Uber from and to the airport. Again, this is not something you can't live with - but it's kind of annoying. The good things? Room size is impressive. Also - the view to the mountain. Considering its location, it should also be quiet - but at least my room wasn't - all night, if awake, I had to count the seconds between the 1-second stops of the function of the water pumps.

great service close to the airport and old town
Although it appear a little tired the hotel service, room sizes and food could not be faulted. Both pools were a godsend in the burning sunshine and provided a relaxing getaway. Buffet breakfast was of a good standard with plenty of western and Asian choices. Close to the airport but didn't hear the planes in hotel.transfer service provided and very helpful tour operator in the lobby. Executive club lounge facilities were very good and complimentary. All hotel staff were very friendly polite and attentive. always able to help and made a deliberate effort to ensure reported matters ie.(safe battery run out) were dealt with efficiently and effectively in the quickest time. Great value for money
